A small note

Wow… honestly just… wow. Words cannot express how happy this makes me. I never thought I’d be here. Years ago when I started this Tumblr, I had no idea how far it would go. Yet here I am, 1,000 followers. I am eternally grateful for everyone, new and old, who follows me. I know I’m not the greatest writer and my posting consistency is quite bad, but I do appreciate everyone who enjoys the content I put out. Thank you so much. Now for the celebration.

What is the celebration?

The celebration will be a personalized fic giveaway. There will be three winners.

1st place winner: personalized 2k+ word fic

2nd place winner: personalized 1k+ word fic

What do you mean by “personalized fic”?

By personalized I mean

Real name instead of (Y/n) (Ex: “Jaden laid her head on the pillow.” instead of “(Y/n) laid her head on the pillow.”)

Your choice of genre (fluff, angst, platonic, or smut)

How will you decide on the winner?

When you enter, your URL will be put onto a wheel on an app called Tiny Decisions. When the contest closes, I will spin the wheel three times. Flynn cutting off Rapunzel's hair is actually an incredible expression of love because he's getting rid of the one thing that directly caused her "mom" to abuse her and thus is truly setting her free from all that horribleness because now she no longer has the very thing itself that was causing it. That also means not even he could use it against her and is proving he loves her beyond it. The now-short length is also truly a part of this literal cutting away of the abuse-tool too, because now even it being long is gone and she no longer even has to think about it if she doesn't want to beyond basic maintenance. The length of her hair was just as much of a tool to hurt her as the magic powers, because her "mom" was using it to have her own freedom but didn't let Rapunzel use her own hair to leave. Getting rid of her hair in all the ways it was used as a tool of abuse and reducing it to something she only needs to care about if she wants to is literally the best gift he could give her.

So we all joke that Sam Reid is lestat irl, and he's an actor that plays lestat but he does it so well that the joke came about in the first place. Okay now in season 3 we are gonna get rockstar lestat. Canonically the books exist (the way they do in our world) and they have a fandom (like this world) and from public perception this rockstar guy is just insanely committed to the cosplay larp. of this fictional book character. So if I said it would be a really cool and fun idea for lestat's "Human" name to be Sam, like when fans are like "we know you're lestat from this book and you're like a vampire and all but real talk what's your name" I imgaine at first he'd be like "Dude i stg it's lestat" (way fancier and french than that but yk what i mean) but fandoms are crazy relentless and would stop at nothing to dox this man, so what if they wore him down until he's like "I changed it legally to lestat" on and on and on etc etc etc until eventually he just goes onto babynames.com and picks the first top 100 boy names that he sees Sam reid the actor that plays lestat in our lil tv show based on the books. And lestat the actor that plays "sam" when pestered by fans what his "real" name is.

Hi Nalyra! I got a question regarding Armand's last name. In the show he doesn't reveal his last name yet or he simply doesn't have one. Does he have a last name at all in the books? Did he ever take up someone else's last name or use their name as a last name (I'm thinking about Marius)?

I got this little headcanon that Armand took up Louis last name in one of their many identities. And they were a registered married couple in one of the European countries where same-sex marriage has been legalized. And one of his passports probably has a name that probably called "Armand Du Lac".

Hey! Mhhhh, I know, headcanon and all, but... They lived in Dubai for quite a while where it’s most certainly not legal. San Francisco was a certain important stop, and canonically they moved around a lot, but... Here is a list and timeline of the legalization of gay marriage - and unfortunately it's all still quite recent:

I (don't want to destroy your headcanon here 😅 but I) don't think they were married. I think they lived in Dubai ever since the last kill in 2000, since Louis would then need to have access to food another way (hence the farm and blood whores).

And, given Louis' very much catholic upbringing, and him going on about "kissing Lestat on the altar" still in 2x08... I think he's still married - to Lestat.

Armand does not carry a surname book canonically afaik.

However, Armand carries show canonically the name “Armand Marius“ which might not have been spoken out loud, but which was on the posters on set. For example here (though there are more in my bts tag):

Which makes me wonder, since it was apparently Louis' apartment that Armand only lived in with him (and where he made certain changes, as we know from the set designs etc.) if he took Marius' painting with him when he left.

That will be a very interesting tidbit to analyze if it is ever shown.
