As A Very Young Child I Used To Have Night Terrors And Wake The Whole House With My Screams. My Mom Banned
As a very young child I used to have night terrors and wake the whole house with my screams. My Mom banned anything remotely scary after 5:30 and if something remotely scary played after this time the sibling responsible was the one to comfort me afterwards. While the night terrors have gone away I have always had an active imagination and have scared myself with the plot synopses of scary movies and watching documentaries about hauntings.
Now recently my eight year old niece ‘Chibi’ came home from school and told her mom that a fellow student told her something about a haunted or possessed doll in their house that was reportedly following them around wanting to hurt them. Chibi had a nightmare that night and it took her mom at least an hour to calm Chibi down enough to understand what was wrong and assure her that her dolls wouldn’t kill her. Chibi slept the rest of the night in her mom’s bed.
It also came out that other kids in school were teasing her for not watching scary movies that aren’t appropriate for children their age (PG-13 and R ratings in the USA).
Unpopular opinion but horror movies shouldn’t be advertised on apps/websites like Spotify where it is impossible to click them away
It’s not only that children use these but also that it really sucks for many people who are naturally frightened easily, have mental health issues/are not neurotypical
I don’t want to have to suffer through 30 seconds of scary noises and screaming and shit like that to be allowed to listen to music

Me *supposed to be trying to fall asleep*: Oh my gosh, none of the Jedi Starfighters had hyperdrives! Palpatine didn’ want them to escape if they were in a starfighter when the time came to execute Order 66!
That sneaky, clever, manipulative monster.
My Sister-in-Law Dany gets this as well when she does craft fairs.
People say ‘I can buy X for a lot less at X store’. Without thinking about the work that goes into it and the potential quality of both items.

People often look at the tags on my handmade goods and declare that my prices are outrageous. I did the math and THIS is what that handmade beanie you want for $10 ACTUALLY cost to make.
So if you see that $30 on the label, be courteous. Know that I am paying myself far, far less than minimum wage in labor ($2.22 per hour, to be exact) to even come to such a supposedly ghastly price. I can't take that $10 for a hat because no one can live on $0.37 an hour, much less sustain a business.
Handmade goods aren't overpriced, people just undervalue the hard work and years of skill artists put into them.
I drive by that house every so often, depends on the route taken to my SIL Dany’s place, and it is condemned; no one has lived there in years.
But there are scuzzy landlords that do pass off places barely suitable for animals off as safe for Human Habitation.

Me seasoning my popcorn: Lets drizzle on some butter, shake that big honking container of granulated/powered garlic over the bowl several times, then shake the salt shaker over the bowl once or twice, mix up the popcorn and repeat until the butter is gone.
Someone cooking steak or hamburgers: how do you want yours?
Me: Kill it with garlic and a little salt.
Someone seeing me adding more garlic to my steak: Wasn’t dead enough for you?
Me: Nope.
Me tasting any food that I have prepared for a meal: It tastes a little bland; should I add anything else to it?
The Taste Tester: Tastes fine to me.
Me: Should I add more garlic or a little more salt?
Them: It’s good but maybe a little more salt will bring out the other flavors.
we would be so lost without garlic

This is Lily.
She tends to be skittish and indecisive but she’s a lovely kitty
