Me *supposed to be trying to fall asleep*: Oh my gosh, none of the Jedi Starfighters had hyperdrives! Palpatine didn’ want them to escape if they were in a starfighter when the time came to execute Order 66!
That sneaky, clever, manipulative monster.

My Star Wars Headcanons
I have only two Star Wars Headcanons because I am very confident that I won’t have them destroyed or disproven,
1: Shmi Skywalker was Force Sensitive. This seems to be supported by Canon as Anakin, according to the AtoC novelization, was able to follow his bond with her across the desert and fond her (also one of the novelizations for TPM Qui-Gon notes that she’s Force Sensitive enough to be a powerful Jedi and that whoever Anakin’s father was he had to be a powerful Force Sensitive in order for Anakin to be powerful).
Yes, the novelizations aren’t fully Canon but the ideas are there,
2: Anakin was seeing Padme’s spirit/soul when he asked her if she was an Angel and not just her outer appearance.
Going back to TPM novelization Anakin adds more to his description of Angels: good and kind and make hardened criminals cry.
But stepping away from the novelization and examining other Canon sources it seems that Force Sensitivities can sense what is in a person’s heart and/or soul which can manifest in physical sensations. We have at least three or more Canon sources where characters have described feeling cold, for two of the characters it was in reference to the presence of a Dark Sider: Vader. Luke describes the cave on Dagobah as ‘cold’ and Yoda tells him it’s a place of evil (whether or not that’s true remains to be seen). And than Anakin tells the Jedi Council that he feels cold which they seem to attribute to him feeling fear.
Anyway, thank you for your time.
My reaction to the Star Wars Traile.
The only time that I doubted that the Rebels would be successful in securing the Death Star Plans was that corridor scene.
I almost fully expected that datacard to be destroyed only for us to learn that there was another copy that made it to safety or that another ship got the transmission which is how Leia got the plans.
Fun Fact: in the original novelization of the first Star Wars movie Darth Vader appears when the fighting was still at the hatch and the Rebel Troops fled in terror.

Self-fulilling prophecies are one of my favorite kind of prophecies.
The person(s) that hear the prophecy do everything in their power to prevent the prophecy from coming to pass but instead bring it to fruition through their actions or inactions.
Various leaders of the Jedi Council (the highest religious authority!) very much believe that Anakin is their prophesied savior but they harbor such an intense personal dislike for a nine year old that they just kind of shrug it off and quietly disregard that part of their doctrine. Like, WHAT
When my Mom was younger she didn’t vote and would complain about those in office until someone asked her if she had voted and when she said ‘no’ they replied that because she hadn’t voted she didn’t have a right to complain about those in office because she didn’t either vote them in or vote for their opponent.
I also know a young man who last I knew hadn’t voted in any election since he turned eighteen because he said ‘my vote doesn’t matter’ but refused to stop complaining about those in power and when I and others suggested that he vote he just whine about his vote not mattering.
I, as an American, didn’t vote for Trump or Clinton as I didn’t like either of them and instead did a write in that I had researched and agreed with their political stand and felt that they not only had the experience to lead but had a sound understanding of global politics. None of my immediate in-laws voted for them and I don’t think a lot of my family members voted for them either (though a few did vote for Trump).
If enough of us voted against the established political parties because we’re tired of their lies and false promises maybe someone new will get in, maybe not, but hopefully the established parties will take a long hard look at themselves and actually start being honest with us and either A: live up to their campaign promises as much as they can or B: explain why, without pinning the blame solely on others (it might be to do it they’ll have to rob Peter to pay Paul and still not have the money to do it), they can’t fulfill them.
Either way, get out and vote! If you’re afraid of of your employer trying to block you from leaving to vote research ahead of time your rights and use them if you have to, lodge a complaint with the right people and make your voice heard by calling the media and let them know that your employer is refusing to allow you the time off to go and vote.
THE CANADIAN ELECTION
PLEASE, PLEASE- PLEASE!! TO ALL FOLKS ON HERE IN CANADA. VOTE!
Not sure who to vote for? Consider checking out https://votecompass.cbc.ca/canada/ - A site that offers you a short quiz on your views on different topics to help you figure out what party best represents your own views.
Have no views really and just see the voting system as entirely flawed? Consider voting NDP, who promise to actually provide electoral reform (unlike the Liberals who ran majorly on this platform- then ignored it after they won a majority…- and even ignored it after thousands of Canadians supported this concept on the parliamentary website/petition)
“I dont have the time to vote” Advanced voting days are October 11, 12, 13, & 14th. Polling locations vary by address, but I’m sure that you are within a short distance of your location. As well there is the ‘normal election day’ on Monday, October 21st- the location may be the same as the advanced pol locations, just with limited time frames.
PLEASE CONSIDER LOOKING AT YOUR RIDING AND ENSURING YOU ARE ABLE TO VOTE WITHIN THE ADVANCED/NORMAL TIME FRAME YOU HAVE. All jobs are obligated to allow you time to vote should you not have it in other means.
Above all else, PLEASE: Do not see your vote as worthless. Whether you vote for a party who is among the main handful, or a very minor group- vote for who you believe for rather than who think will WIN.
If all this still doesn’t entice you to vote- look at the USA, where almost 40% of people chose not to vote. And look at the absolute fuckface they got because of it. You personally may think ‘One vote doesn’t matter’, but there’s tens to hundreds of thousands of people with the same idea- one vote can add up very quickly.
Don’t let Canada become USA jr and vote an equally racist/sexist/homophobic/overall rich dickhead in as our leader as well- PLEASE.
