small update! i haven't had as much time to work on it as i'd like, but i still got somewhere :) i was mostly just trying to compile and draw the sprites for now... i figured out how to do composite images, which is great because i can save each expression and outfit separately so i don't have to add like a hundred combinations for each character.

oh, and here's chloe! this is at the start of the game, but i decided to include her little blue tuft because i love how it looks :D

you'd be surprised at how crazy the code gets. but i learned some things, so it's pretty cool! now i'll start chipping away at the story, and variations of the sprites.

so i've been planning a sort of visual novel game recently which will build on a python game that i made that allows you to go to blackwell and meet a bunch of characters :) it would include a lot of choices and consequences -- a bit like Love is Strange! i love that game but i wanted to avoid something too similar, so here's the general idea for mine:

play as a student in blackwell at the start of the new school year -- everyone else is new, so you can make friends and meet a bunch of people!

the core characters you could meet would be max, chloe, rachel, kate, warren and victoria, though if i finish, i might add more people! :) [such as steph and dana]

the first week is composed of a few different subjects which you get to try out, and work with a partner (of your choice!!!) to complete your lesson tasks

there's a prom coming up in a couple of days! you get to ask a character if they'd like to go with you :)

since it's just me working on it as a fun project, it's a little less ambitious than Love is Strange, haha :D but i hope it'll be fun to play when complete! also your choices totally impact your outcome ^^ the next couple of months are unfortunately horrendously busy but i hope i can find time to work on it, and i'll post updates!

lo and behold, the game so far. it looks like a mess because it is! i'm just using images from google (the text box is from animal crossing) for now to figure out the story haha :D

thank you for the question! im not actually sure, it was sort of like i got gradually exposed to clips of the first game and it looked really interesting to me :) then i think i watched a compilation of gay couples in games and i deadass thought that ellie and dina from tlou were in a life is strange game as well! what about you ^^

hawt dawg man patch!!!

hey guys i made another patch a while back and i just remembered to post it! i sort of squished the poor guy but the design is based off one of the Messages stickers you can get if you get LIS1 on mobile :)

here are some photos of my 'process' (basically just winging it) if anyone wants to see!

literally the only proper equipment i have is some embroidery thread, the rest is using old fabric from a school shirt and a needle! dont let it stop you :) anyway first i just trace or draw the design and start doing stitches, i try to keep it in the same orientation unless i want some sort of pattern if you get me...

that's sort of it! i see to have missed the rest but i just did basically the same thing... for the border i cannot do a proper satin stitch (or whatever its called) without curling the edges so i just sorta went around the hawt dawg man. that part would be a LOT easier with a sewing machine. but it's sort of calming!!

homeless woman from LiS spotted????

i was just playing before the storm episode 3 and the nurse working at the hospital looks identical to the homeless woman! she told max that she 'married dumb, made mistakes, got cheated out of my savings, lost my home' to end up homeless, so this could have happened after we see her here - or this could just be a very similar-looking model!

edit: just saw this post that said the exact same thing! it's cool that someone else noticed it :D
