Replaying life is strange 2 atm and so my hyper fixation on this franchise has been renewed, probably one of my favourite games of all time it completely changed my life. And yet somehow I have never drawn fanart for any of the games
Life Is Strange #2: Still Needs More Gay
I'm enjoying the Life Is Strange comic so far, but two issues in and it's repeatedly passed up multiple perfect opportunities for Max and Chloe to smooch
Sure, they're apparently living together, and there's lots of hand holding and other cute affectionate touching, but that's only going to make it more obnoxious if the nature of their relationship is not established to be explicitly romantic.
I really want this planned four issue storyline to lead into an ongoing series, but not if they're gonna be too cowardly to show Max and Chloe as a canonically queer couple
There's this panel that might be meant to suggest that Chloe might have a thing for their friend Tammi, which I GUESS would count as non-cowardly lesbian representation if they make it explicit, but Max is queer too. Players who think she's straight because they inexplicably chose to date Warren are incorrect. She's bi. Also, she and Chloe need to be together BECAUSE I NEED IT 😤
I'm excited to see which characters we know from Arcadia Bay will be confirmed to be alive or dead. So far they've only confirmed one death of someone who COULD have survived (as in they weren't already dead before the party, and Max didn't have to save their life on her way to the diner, which then would've been undone when she saved Chloe) and of COURSE it was someone who I'd hoped would have made it. There's still two more issues for someone familiar to show up, but Steph showing up seems too much to hope for
But more than anything else I need these two to kiss. I'd rather see them kill Chloe off AGAIN and never do another could than end this like cowards, leaving their relationship ambiguous
Life Is Strange #4 is out!
The final issue of the "Dust" storyline (but not the series) is out today and there's LOTS of panels I really want to post, but they'd all be major spoilers so here's the cover
One thing I will spoil is that this issue does finally deliver on the explicit gayness people were waiting for. They weren't queer baiting as many had feared, they were just building up to it. (Though of course I don't blame any queer fans for not trusting that until they saw it)
My expectations were correct about where the story was headed but somehow the specifics still managed to catch me completely by surprise and I'm still reeling a bit.
The ending is definitely not something I would have gone with, but it should take the characters to interesting places. I'm REALLY glad this won't be the last issue because I'm already dying for the next one, which isn't going to be out until May.
There's probably going to be all kinds of rioting in the fandom until then, but I don't think there's any way to avoid that short of giving Steph her own game

i’ve been recently looking back into life is strange (especially the first game & it’s prequel) and i’m just realizing more and more how flawed the game is and it’s relationships between the characters and i feel like i want to take on the ambitious task of making a fix-it fic for LIS1 & BTS because i think if chloe was actually written with the justice she deserves, it could’ve fixed LIS1’s plot and maybe help a lot of people overlook some of its more glaring issues (i.e. the funky dialogue or the stiff facial movements) and maybe fixing rachel in BTS it would also help boost the story of LIS1.
it is all about them and always will be
replaying lis for the millionth time cuz im bedridden and reminding myself to check the journals always!
