Recently Discovered Brian David Gilbert From An Out Of Context Compilation And I Know Nothing About Him

Recently discovered Brian David Gilbert from an out of context compilation and I know nothing about him or what he does but I think if for whatever reason John Oliver decides to stop hosting, I think BDG could take over Last Week Tonight and the change would be virtually unnoticeable

I don’t know how to explain it alot what it is about them but they are the same brand of person

I know this isn’t a particularly common characterization of them (at least not what I’ve seen) but I personally think of the two;

Shanks rarely gets restless, he’s the one more content to just bask in a moment, it may not be in silence but he’s comfortable just doing nothing with his crew. As long as there’s alcohol, a hammock and the people he loves, Shanks is straight.

Contrary to that Mihawk is always itching to do something, entertain himself in some way. If he’s not dueling/training, he’s gardening if it’s not that then he’s cooking or he’s reading and if nothing else will do then he naps. but he’s always trying to occupy his time with something.

I think a lot of people don’t notice it because it’s not the jittery hyperactivity that people associate with it. But Mihawk is restless, endlessly so. He’s in a never ending fight with his boredom but it’s all internal.(except when he decides to make it someone else’s problem ala Don Krieg)

Mihawk’s the type of dude to implode instead of explode so it makes sense that things like restlessness don’t really show themselves in an outwardly physical way. Instead it’s more of an internal pressure and incessant need to stave off boredom. But because of his preference for being alone and the fact that the activities he chooses aren’t ones usually associated with restlessness. It goes unnoticed.

Except by Shanks who’s always going out of his way to make the life of a pretty little birdie a litte more interesting.

My own personal favorite headcannon is that Mihawk was just completely rabid in his youth. Like I’m talking when he was still young enough to have something to prove.

I know the seas were a MESS when Mihawk was still hunting down challengers to prove he was the best.

Because I also head canon that a title like World’s strongest swordsman didn’t exist till Mihawk through sheer force of Will and a truly horrifying amount of singular dogmatic pursuit clawed it together by simply proving to the world, one challenger at a time, that no one could beat him.

The mess he must have made, the carnage he must have left in his wake. Right at the beginning of the golden age of piracy too. I know the marines were STRESSED.

I don’t know how big the pool of sorcery actually is but we can infer that it was relatively very small even before the events of canon

After the events of canon Sorcerer numbers are gonna be in the gutters. In the course of a single year their entire fighting force has been halved, they’ve lost all their heaviest hitters, one of their strongest clans has been wiped out, jujutsu tech (Tokyo) has lost all its teachers and its principal, and the leaders of their society, the elders, have been killed.

And while some of those things needed to go there’s a reason Gojo didn’t just take them out. That is some serious upheaval especially when there’s so significant of curses slowing down!

Hell they might even get worse given the absolute traumatic events that have befallen Japan, and then not to mention there are still some powerful centuries old fighting obsessed curse users running around. And then the whole hoard of curses that were released when Kenjaku died that Yuuta didn’t manage to kill.

So it doesn’t really matter if Sukuna is defeated, sorcerers are fucked. About to be 5 guys and a doctor versus every curse in Japan

Reigen feels like he should be a character out of a sitcom about horrible people like it’s always sunny or Community.

Which is why it’s so much funnier that he hangs around with Mob. The literal goodest boy of all time. And is , when the light hits the angles just right, maybe a decent dude.

Mihawk is a man that knows, if he even showed the slightest bit of interest he could pull anybody he wanted. And that is something Shanks, crocodile, buggy and anybody he has ever even mildly been in the presence of, fear deeply
