R.I.P.

Today is a very hard day.

For those of you who dont know me that well, SHINee was my very first bias group. I loved them so much, and they were the first group to bring me out of the gutter, and therefore have always been so incredibly important and special to me.

It hurts so much to know that Jonghyun has passed away, that he struggled for so long and hardly anyone would have even known about it.

As someone who suffers from depression and has attempted suicide, and thankfully was unsuccessful, I know how horrible it feels to live in such pain.

The only thing I can say now is, while it is tragic, Jonghyun felt this was the solution to his problems and we can only hope he passed without regrets in making this decision and is resting in peace.

We should all remember him as the amazingly talented man he was, not for the tragedy that has occurred and let his life live on through the music he shared with us.

He wouldn't want anyone to be heartbroken because of this, and for everyone to receive joy from what he did accomplish in his life.

I know a lot of people are not posting out of respect for Jonghyun, but I also know that some people might need the posts as a coping method, and therefore I will update one of my stories tonight, and possibly finish a request or two. It'll be much later in the evening, perhaps even tomorrow instead, so for now, I give my condolences to SHINee and Jonghyun's friends and family, and wish that he rests in peace. He was and still is a legend. Always will be.

The Devil’s Sons [05]

The Devils Sons [05]

poster by @minhaaru

One was sent to damn her into a life of eternal misery. The other was sent to save her. Neither had the intention of loving her.

word count: 2036 genre: fantasy, angst characters: Soonyoung x OC x Jihoon 00 | 04 | 06

Jihoon was up in a matter of seconds, standing behind Sahyun and Soonyoung for her protection. She could hear the clicking of his gun, his body close enough to spread warmth across her back as she stood with her face practically smashed against Soonyoung. While in most cases the position would've been awkward or comfortable, she felt safe and secure, and was highly grateful not to be able to witness what exactly was happening beyond the male in front of her.

The sound of groaning, the painful kind mixed with grunts and whines, and the thick stench that suddenly took over the entirety of the building left her gagging.

"Fuck, why are Walkers in your house, Soonyoung?" Jihoon's growl echoed behind her as she felt his arm reach over her shoulder, their height's not too far from each other, to shoot. She heard the gun fire followed by the sound of something she couldn't even put into words. "Shit."

"I just sent a few for you to fight, and you've already forgotten regular bullets don't work, dumbass?" Soonyoung spit out, yanking Sahyun along with him as he moved to the side. She whimpered when his grip became too tight, but did nothing to loosen it, the fear of whatever was closing in on them worse than the dull ache he would give her.

His hand wrapped around a staff he had placed against a wall, and with skills she could never possible understand, he swung it forward with one hand, and she heard a similar sound of the bullet hitting the creature, though more intense.

She decided the only way to describe it would be squishy. It was not solid, it was goo of some sort and she was too terrified to know what.

"Not all bullets are absorbed by them, idiot." Jihoon retorted, and Sahyun cautiously cut her eyes over to where he still stood by the table, finishing switching out whatever ammo he had. She regretted taking the chance the moment she finally laid eyes on what these men were calling 'walkers'.

It was by far the most disgusting thing she had ever set her eyes upon, the remnants of a man with melted - or was it still melting? - flesh, empty sockets where it's eyes should've been, and no face other than a gaping hole for a mouth, a sticky liquid seeping out beyond it. Whatever limbs it did have were as gooey as it's face, and she realized the horrible stench that followed them could only match that of a decaying body.

It was like a zombie amplified by a hundred, and it was something she would never wash from her brain.

She didn't have time to ponder on it, however, because Soonyoung's grip was pulling her away yet again, keeping her as close to his back as possible, while swinging his staff around to delay them long enough to get out.

"There's got to be at least fifty of them." Minghao's dull voice suddenly spoke from behind her, and she jumped slightly at the chill that followed. His eyes glowed a transparent white now, a strange field surrounding the expanse of his body. She almost screamed when one of the creatures reached out from behind him, but the sound stopped short when it touched the field, the flesh actually melting away.

She was almost certain she would vomit once they were out of dodge, if they managed to get out.

"I really didn't want to risk taking her out of the house and into the Middleground, but we don't have much of a choice at this point. We need to get to the tunnels. They won't be able to follow us down there." Soonyoung stated back, steadily moving them toward the door.

Somehow they made it, and despite barely knowing them, a feeling of relief washed over Sahyun when she glanced over her shoulder and saw Jihoon trailing behind them, a grip of his own on Seungkwan.

They ran the moment there was an opening between the swarm, her legs hardly managing to hold out from the exertion, no doubt from the lack of nutrition she had been receiving over the last few days.

Had she been given a chance to, Sahyun probably would've marveled at how normal everything appeared outside. For some reason, she was expecting everything to be as gray as the food she was eating and for it to be eerily quiet. Instead she found it to look like any normal house, with a yard, a sidewalk - Hell, it was even in a neighborhood of sorts.

"Where's Jun?" She found herself asking when they rounded the corner of the house. Her question fell flat when she saw the man already standing in front of two latched doors in the backyard.

"Compellors have the ability transport. The bastard probably got out the moment there was a sign of trouble. Wimp." Seungkwan muttered behind her.

"You're only saying that because you couldn't do the same. You would've gladly left us behind if you had the chance." Jihoon commented, letting go of the boy with a glare.

Jun snickered as they approached. "I didn't run away. I was simply waiting for you guys so we could make an even quicker escape. I had complete faith you would all make it out in one piece." He smirked, reaching to open the latches.

"Can you move faster? They're still following us." Minghao stated, the other four turning to look back as well.

"Shit, there's more than fifty. Where did you learn to count?" Seungkwan choked out, pushing Sahyun slightly to be the first one inside the tunnels.

"Real brave Subordinate you've got there, Soonyoung. Though, I suppose that should be a reflection on you as his master." Jihoon sscoffed, coming to stand behind her once more so she was sandwiched safely between the two men.

"It's no reflection on me when he's never listened to a word I said since the day I took him in." Soonyoung muttered, pulling Sahyun in front of him, away from the silver haired male. Her hand slipped out of his and she had to stop herself from reaching for it again, the protection it made her feel fleeing with every second.

Soonyoung saw the fear in her eyes and his hard gaze softened as he nodded toward the doors. "Hurry now, we'll only enter once you're safely inside with Seungkwan.

Trusting him far more than she should have, she nodded and took a step away from them, her eyes landing on Jun as she moved quickly into the entrance. Soonyoung's warm touch was replaced with the Compellor's as he held onto her shoulder, ducking his head inside after her. She knew he was simply calming her emotions as they continued on, her heart rate slowing with each step until it felt somewhat normal, though she stayed mentally alert despite that.

She heard the doors slam shut behind her and her head whipped around to see the remaining three men following them down the stairs into the tunnels.

"You guys were so slow. It's like you have a death wish." Seungkwan greeted them as they huddled at the bottom of the stairs.

The sound of banging on the doors startled Sahyun, the faint groaning of the Walkers making her gulp. She was grateful when Soonyoung made his way beside her again, his shoulders just a couple of inches away from hers, though he didn't grab her hand a second time.

"As you may of noticed, they don't have proper appendages. We'll be safe in here for a short while. They aren't the greatest at walking down stairs, but if they do managed to break those doors open, it doesn't take genius to tumble down them." He told her before addressing the rest of them. "We should get a move on."

"Where do these tunnels lead?" She asked, her voice a little weak from the horror of what she just experienced. All of them heard the shakiness in her words, and not even Seungkwan dared to make a sudden move around her.

Jihoon was the one to answer her, his own voice a steady contradiction to hers that she somehow found comforting. "A friend. He was actually who I was going to suggest going to see about you, so this isn't entirely that inconvenient."

Seungkwan scoffed, shaking his head. "Why in the world would you suggest going to Seokmin for advice?"

Rolling his eyes, Soonyoung nudged Sahyun's back gently as a means to get her to start walking, and she did so, Jun guiding her as they began to make their way through the dimly lit tunnel. "I believe Jihoon was referring to Seungcheol, not Seokmin."

Quicker than she would have liked, the torches that lined the walls seemed to grow further and further apart until they were met with the last one, darkness spreading the rest of the way.

She was about to ask what they were going to do to see, but Minghao stepped ahead of her next to Jun. He reached onto his hip, pulling off a small bottle she didn't even see hidden beneath the fabric of his shirt. He popped the vile open and moved his hand over the top of it, his fingers looking nothing but elegant as he seemed to draw the contents of it out. She gasped quietly when a string of white light began making its way into the air, and with the stealthy movements of his hands, it was suddenly an orb, bright enough for them to see several feet ahead of them.

She didn't even have to open her mouth to question what it was before Soonyoung chuckled at her amazement from behind her, making her ears tint pink from the sound. "Soul collectors carry around souls with them. Whenever they find a connection with one in particular that they like, they tend to keep it around long term. Kind of like a pet."

As if the orb had a mind of its own, it stopped floating in front of Minghao and shot in their direction, making Sahyun squeal before she realized it had come face to face with Soonyoung, and was not out to harm her.

The white changed to a faint red color, indicating what she assumed to be anger. A puff of air was released from it, blowing into Soonyoung's face hard enough to make his eyes squint.

Sahyun turned to Minghao in surprise when he let out a chuckle, the first real emotion she had ever seen come from his otherwise blank exterior.

"You've made her angry, Soonyoung. You shouldn't call her a pet like that. She's my companion."

Pleased with his words, the red faded to a vibrant pink color before moving back over to Minghao, circling around him in dancing motions before finding it's spot in front of him once more. Sahyun found it almost adorable to witness, and if the events taking place didn't make her feel like she was losing her mind or in an entirely to intricate dream, she might have even laughed.

She turned back to Soonyoung as he huffed, a sulk clearly making it's way onto his features. Yet another side of someone she had yet to see. "Sorry for insulting it, then. Jeez."

It was then that Sahyun come to the realization that none of them were bad people, even if they had done bad things. It was extremely odd, and a part of her wondered if Jun's uncanny ability for emotional control had anything to do with it, but she felt at ease with all of them. She wasn't entirely sure how long that feeling would last, so she decided to bask in it for as long as she could, before the reality of everything decided to sink in once more.

Maybe she could find some type of enjoyment out of what was to come. If she wasn't ever going to be able to return back to her real home... then she would eventually have to adapt to this new one anyway. Find a new normal.

And having seen nothing but genuine concern for her, she decided to put her trust in the men around her.

Peaches and Cream [jisoo fluff]

Requested by @ohpapiseo (even if she tried to fake being an anon). It might not be exactly what you wanted, but I hope you enjoy it anyway.

Peaches And Cream [jisoo Fluff]

word count: 1480 pairings: jisoo x reader genre: pure fluff, there maybe a puppy and kitten involved.

Jisoo knew from the first date that you were a special and tender-hearted being. In fact, the boy had met you at the animal shelter you volunteered at, after he witnessed a dog getting hit by a car on his way to University. The driver left without even slowing down, and Jisoo couldn’t bring himself to walk past the scene. He wrapped the animal in his sweater, not caring that the cream colored material would be stained and tattered and rushed to the nearest place he could find, the Animal Hospital too far away for him to walk.

He was panting and exhausted by the time he rushed through the doors, and all of the volunteers in the facility sprung into action, the on-scene Vet Tech coming forward to take the dog away from him. You stood behind the counter, genuinely worried for the dog as Jisoo stood there, his shirt covered in red. With a blink, you shook your head and composed yourself, gesturing for the male to come forward so you could take down the information.

“It’s not mine, I just saw it get hit and didn’t know where else to bring it.” He stumbled to say, far too anxious and on edge to calm down. The poor boy was near tears and it was a surprise to him when you reached forward and placed a gentle hand on his bicep, a sad smile on your lips.

“Thank you for doing this. Most people would’ve ignored it and walked away. You may have saved the puppy’s life.”

Your words eased him, and he was able to calm down after a while, waiting for the news of the dog’s status. It was one of the biggest reliefs he had ever felt when the Veterinarian come out to say she was stable, only suffering a minor fracture that would heal almost perfectly with proper attention. After scanning the dog for a microchip, they determined her to be a stray, and despite Jisoo struggling to get by with his own expenses, he couldn’t bring himself to leave her at the Shelter.

When they handed her to him in a kennel, wrapped in blankets and out cold from whatever drugs they had used to sedate her, he turned to you with a pleading look.

“I’ve never had a dog before. What do I even name her?”

Your smile was warm as you walked around the front desk and knelt down in front of the kennel, your hand reaching through the bars of the door to rub along her paw. She twitched unconsciously from under your touch, and you tilted your head as you thought.

“She’s a pretty color, kind of like a peach. You should name her that.”

“Peach?” He questioned, his eyes shifting from you to the small dog. Peach did seem like a rather cute name. Your nod of approval was enough for him to fully agree and he gave a nervous smile at the thought of suddenly being a pet owner.

You waved as he began to walk out of the Shelter, a few days supply of dog food and treats packed away neatly for him to start off with. He paused when he heard you call after him, jogging outside in the autumn air to catch up.

“Bring Peach by any time you want a break, or help, even just to say Hi.”

He wasn’t too sure if the pink tint to your cheeks was from the chilly air or if you were blushing, but he decided he wouldn’t be too upset if he ever had to see you again, and he nodded in return. “It’s a date.”

--

Your love for animals was something Jisoo had discovered early on. You were going to school to be a Veterinarian, your days outside of University spent volunteering at the animal shelter or taking care of your friends pets while they went on vacation.

Yet, somehow, you had never gotten a pet of your own.

Jisoo had questioned it many times, especially after seeing you grow so attached to Peach over the course of the two years he had come to know you. Even more so when the two of you began dating and you spent practically every night at his apartment, to the point where people questioned if you lived together.

But, you had always brushed it off with a simple “I’m just not ready for a pet of my own.”

“You take care of them so well, though. How could you, of all people, not be ready?” He frowned, stroking Peach behind her ear as you lay on his sofa with the  orange-beige colored dog on your lap.

You chuckled and shook your head. “I don't really know, Jisoo. I guess I just don’t want to take on the responsibility of one animal when there’s so many out there that need my help.”

“Then you can just buy a farm.” He nudged your arm, earning a giggle from you.

“Maybe when I become the world’s number Vet and can afford to do that, sure. I’ll buy a farm.”

The conversation almost always ended like that, with you beating around the bush. Jisoo never pushed you into getting a pet though, even though he was certain having one would only make you happier.

The day, however, did eventually come.

Jisoo brought Peach to the Shelter to visit you, only to find you seating at your desk with a beautiful gray-tone white kitten walking back and forth over the surface as your fingers laced through its soft fur. Your eyes flickered up to Jisoo as he made his way to the desk, a fond gaze landing on his face. Peach let out a whine, gaining your attention as you shifted your eyes to her, finding her staring longingly at the kitten under your fingers.

You watched as the little furball hissed at the dog, but still knelt down curious to observe it. Peach’s nose wiggled as she sniffed the kitten before excitedly barking and licking it. The cat hissed again and jumped back walking to the other side of the desk and, if you and Jisoo didn’t know any better, glared at Peach dangerously.

The dog, however, seemed amused by the interaction and sat there wagging her tail as she watched the kitten clean it’s face where Peach’s drool had managed to clump its fur.

“She just came in today. They were going to go put her in the cat room, but she managed to bolt at the last second and decided she was quite fond of my desk.” You explained, reaching out to brush the kitten gently. She purred and nuzzled against your hand, and Jisoo’s chest warmed at the sight.

He glanced down at Peach still watching the kitten happily, but patiently waiting for her to make the first move. “I think Peach would enjoy a new friend.” He stated, patted the dog on its head before giving you a teasing look. “But, I’m not really a cat person.”

You rolled your eyes and sighed, your hands returning to busying yourself with the paperwork on your desk. “I suppose someone will come in and adopt her soon enough.”

The kitten, seeming to understand your words mewed and pranced over your desk until its face nudged your chin rather forcefully until she was able to jump down into your lap.

“I think she wants you to adopt her, y/n.”

You frowned as you watched the kitten curl into a ball on your lap, and unknowingly you willed yourself to grow attached a little more to the precious creature. “You said you’re not a cat person.” You mumbled quietly, trying to find some excuse to keep telling yourself getting a pet wasn’t a good idea.

But in all actuality, the desire for one had long been in you, and you only held off on the thought that it wouldn’t feel right adopting one without adopting them all.

“But, I can live with something as cute as that if it’s what you wanted.” He smiled, trying hard himself to convince you.

The kitten purred and it’s tiny paw began to knead at your thigh gently and you found yourself sighing in defeat.

“What will we name her?”

Jisoo tilted his head, much like he remembered you doing when he first got Peach and made his way over to the other side of the desk, kneeling down beside you so he could run his fingers over the kitten. “Cream.” He chuckled, Peach nudging his leg for her own attention.

“You want our pets to be named Peach and Cream?” You scoffed, shaking your head. Jisoo simply nodded, finding his choice to be rather clever. But, despite the cheesiness, you nodded in agreement, accepting the name and allowing yourself to feel the excitement of getting your very own pet for the first time.
