Update On Sherlock & Co Mailbag Transcripts Poll
Update on Sherlock & Co Mailbag transcripts poll
I just joined a discord convo with some patreon members, and they advised me NOT to post the mailbags transcripts because it wouldn't be fair for the patreon members paying exclusively for that extra content.
I'm sorry if I got everyone excited, and I do appreciate all the votes put in, but sadly I won't be able to continue the poll due to no longer feeling comfortable with posting the transcripts now. I will be deleting the poll, but I'll still post about Sherlock & Co content like episode reviews and interacting with the community!

Oop, sorry my bad! Now that I relistened to it, he didnât stop stimming after the name drop. Thatâs on me and my frazzled brain (and the transcripts) but I still stand by my other points! Most likely heâs using a full fake name, but having that professor title could also be a âhidden-in-plain-sightâ hint for Sherlock.
Fellow Sherlock and Co fans, I have crazy theory based on what we learned from the latest episode (SPOILERS for Shoscombe Old Place Pt. 2!!)
So three things I loved about the episode:
1. John views Baker Street as home to him more than his actual hometown (just a sweet thing that made my heart gushđ„°)
2. Sherlock went on a tangent about how all bodies of water meet their ends, whether itâs a sea, a lake, or a WATERFALL!
3. Professor James Moriarty was canonically mentioned in the show right after the waterfall reference!
BUT, the key thing Iâm piecing together is that he is a professor as in someone who would work at a COLLEGE, and I remember that it was mentioned in Gloria Scott that Sherlock exposed a principal at his college for a huge scandal he committed; really important to know that this guyâs life was DESTROYED because of Sherlockâs detective skills.
This may be a huge stretch, but this is what my brain pieced together:
1. The principalâs life was ruined by (mostly himself, but in his mind he would blame) Sherlock. He literally cried in a fetal position in Sherlockâs dorm!
2. Sherlock stops his hand stimming when John mentions Professor James Moriarty in the shoutouts yet says nothing.
3. Why would a random Professor James Moriarty want to mention his full name in the shoutouts, including his job title, and that heâs âlistening intently to every wordâ? Why not just say âJamesâ like every other shoutout name and say that he loves the podcast?
So my crazy theory is this: Professor James Moriarty is actually the PRINCIPAL that Sherlock ruined the life of! Either heâs lying about the professor title or he had to work up to be a professor after he got fired from the college and needed to work up some high title such as being a professor to fix his reputation; it works, considering itâs still in that familiar education field he worked up to. Either way, heâs been listening to the podcast and waited until now to let Sherlock know that heâs thereâŠ
What do yâall think? Is this truly crazy brain rot, or do you see the connections?
I am loving Potion Permit on the switch! I got it as a Christmas gift this year and Iâve been playing it since! Such a cozy game that involves foraging for materials to make potions, fighting foes in the woods, and making friends in the small town your character lives in.
The Three Students Pt. 1 (SPOILERS)
Alright, pt.1 reaction notes letâs get started!
Ooooh okay, sneak peek at what's to come for Sherlock! Very interestingâŠ
I knew I KNEW Archie was gonna be âin troubleâ for this episode based on the patreon newsletter!! Honestly good on John for having a whole Sherlock-esque deduction monologue about Archie being guilty (unfortunately heâs rather wrong later on)
Oooh so thatâs how they end up at Oxford! Because Sherlock was asked to be a speaker! Good for him
I so get the huge difference between speaking publicly because you have to vs getting really into talking about your special interest. Same Sherlock, I getcha.
âAutistic man turns down offer to speak to room full of peopleâ ngl this is a MOOD (as an autistic woman myself!)
LESTRADE MENTION!! John is so right in saying Lestrade would be putting in a lot of work to let people like Sherlock (consulting detective - not a CERTIFIED one), himself (doctor from Swindon), and Mariana (accountant from Sociedad) legally take on serious criminal cases so itâs only fair Sherlock returns the favor for that.Â
Sherlock, you framed the DOG for your crimes! Youâre a good consulting detective but an unhinged criminal
John youâre SO SALTY over Spainâs victory in the Euros, YOU get over it!
âNerd alertâ, âGot half a mind to give you a wedgieâ of course YOUâD be a bully jock John, why am I not surprised?
Cracked open a beer already? Played Madonna late into the night? John, are you okay??
Oop, Mariana lore?Â
I weirdly find Johnâs little chuckle cute when heâs asking Mariana what she did
Mariana, you did WHAT?? John no, that was NOT a âgoodunâ!
JRR TOLKIEN MENTION!! Been a huge Lord of the Rings fan lately
John, youâre a little TOO excited about a pub being thereâŠ
âWankfestâ? John you said that in the same sentence as Sherlockâs speechâŠ.the speech sounds fine for now but my gutâs telling me the final draft is gonna SUCK
âSherly senseâ John I both love and hate you for that
Okay but shoutout to Adam Jarrell for having a BLAST with that voice acting! I certainly found it delightful
And there it is! Sherlock, you will find yourself in the middle of a case ANYWHERE
I'll say this: I love how this podcast takes the classic acd cases and reinvents them to make them make more sense in the modern day setting! The irony of a mysterious crime being committed for a Criminology controlled assessment is perfect, and honestly a step up from the original being about a Greek exam.
Sherlock: âI will take on the case, you have my word that-â Soames: âWhat about the speech?â Sherlock: ââŠI forgot about thatâ, Sherlock why do you do this to yourself?
Oh JohnâŠyouâre gonna become a frat boy, arenât you?
HE IS!! JOHN YOU MESSY PERSON (I still love you <3)
Drunk John calling Mariana âMrs. Hudsonâ is cute to me for some reason
VODKA?! Oh he was PARTYING partying. John, why do you do this to yourself??
Oh no, poor Sherlockâs nervous!
And thatâs all for part one! I REALLY really like when the podcast reinvents classic cases to have it make more sense in regard to the realistic modern day circumstances like why theyâre ACTUALLY there and what case coincidentally comes up for them to solve! Also guysâŠIâm kinda getting worried for John. Dude hasnât been sleeping well in the last episodes and now the alcohol is becoming more frequent for him. Am I the only one on this??
I loved this too!
I mentioned in my lions mane pt. 1 notes that this was a cute detail because it opens up so many possibilities for the podcast! Not saying Iâm sick of John being our main podcast host (far from it), but I love the idea of more than one person handling the mic!
The Lion's Mane has been so good so far. I love the interactions between the main trio and cannot wait to see fannart and shit. I mean part one is like perfect for animations and shit its full of great clips lol I love the part where Mariana takes the microphone when Watson is sleeping. It is cool to see her take the focus for a bit. She stutters a bit more because she isn't as used to being a narrator and I think that is a nice addition.
Didnât even think of this way, I love it so much!đ
