Leading her to a table, Yzak sat down across from her after pulling out the chair for Alexis. He folded his hands in front of him, eyeing her over the tops of his knuckles. There wasn't much he could say, but he wanted her to do the talking, after all.
"Tell me about your latest mission."
Keith was pretty quiet during the walk to the canteen, not responding very quickly to the question. His eyes seemed glazed over, thoughts racing every direction but this one. "I think I might train, like usual...depends on where my head's at after some 'food', though." The implied air quotes around food came with a slight laugh, a rumble in his throat.
"You're welcome to join me, if you want," he offered, idly grabbing a tray of the strange green goo they all ate. It was still steaming hot from whenever Hunk had cooked it. "I'd love to see that arm of yours in action without the threat of actually dying."
Keith nearly choked, his mind flooding with implications and ideas of what that could mean. He'd had some sort of schoolyard crush on Shiro back at the Garrison, but now was different. They were getting to know one another on personal levels, they were working together as a team, they were practically living together. His mind kept spiraling down the rabbit hole of thoughts that rushed forward as he tried to eat the barely passable food.
"Good," Keith quipped, a smile ghosting across his face for a brief moment. "Don't think I'm going to go easy on you, either." The dark haired paladin rolled his shoulders back, satisfied with the low, dull cracks and clicks that came from them. Finishing what he could of the goo he'd been all but picking at, he excused himself and went to wash up.
