Growing up I always watched movies, documentaries, tv shows and read books about atrocities committed by people in history and thought.. how did this happen and why did no one do anything? Why did governments not intervene? Why did public figures not speak out? How did they get away with it? it? Most importantly how did human treat other humans like that? Where was the compassion?

I'm ashamed to say that in 2024 I now have the answers. The government's gas lighting and complicity, the media dehumanising, ignoring and bias reporting, the huge companies funding and supporting, the public figures choosing to stay silent, the ordinary person pretending "they don't know enough" this is how we've allowed this to happen time and time again..

In the past we could forgive people for not having enough information, not having access to it, not being able to hear the stories of the horrors, to be able to see it with their own eyes..

Growing Up I Always Watched Movies, Documentaries, Tv Shows And Read Books About Atrocities Committed

In 2024 you can't pretend you "don't know enough" you can't pretend you don't see innocent children, men, and women being brutally killed by sadistic, genocidal leaders and their war crimes.. you can't ignore the 100's and 1000's of videos, images, stories and people who are telling you what is happening.. the sheer horror of images we are seeing.. you can't ignore the countless protests, discourse, conversations, posts, live feeds etc.. history will judge your inaction, your silence, your ignorance..

This is not a war.. this is a genocide.. this is massacre.. there are no sides..

Also please don't forget the innocent people suffering in Sudan and Congo they need our voices too!

James & Toby dynamic (PLATONIC!!)

You know those friends that only know each other for little while, but still get along as if they've known each other for decades? Yeah, that's them. They occasionally see eachother when Toby is on 'patrol' and when they do, they talk and talk and talk as if they haven't seen each other for years. However, their personalites are not similar, not in the slightest, you could say that they even oppose eachother.

James is someone that is really calm, collected and always has valid reasonings for his actions, he'd never do something reckless. Toby on the other hand is loud, all over the place, doesn't think before he does or says something and reckless as someone could be. James who would do anything to experience life like a normal human being again, and Toby who would greet death with open arms. Despite their differences in behavior, they relate to eachother. That being through their past experiences, morals, interests and trauma. You can probably imagine that Toby always gets into trouble in some way, that man has never stayed out of it in his entire life, not even for a week. And so, in a way, James put him on a leash. Yet never a tight one, never a short one, not one that hurts or is forced onto the brunet. Toby often even asks him to keep him in check. Obviously, he isn't sober when he requests that, it'll shatter his pride otherwise.

They're close friends, companions, brothers in war, maybe even platonic soulmates. Depends on how you want to see them. Despite Toby being physically older than James, the brunet sees him as some sort of role model. The way a little boy would admire the friends of his older brother. The way a child who has an unstable relationship with their parents favors that one sweet teacher. James sees himself in Toby, he too was once so angry, so vile and hate driven, so he does his best to make these worst times of Toby's life a little less cruel.

Toby's usual harsh, vulgar and loud curses fade into soft, caring words when he talks to James. That dead guy somehow manages to bring the small pup out of the filthy stray. Not many can do that, most will get bit as soon as they even try to get close to Toby, but of course, there will always be exceptions, those being James, Kate, Jack and Natalie, all in their own way.

Did these two have a little "Holy shit, someone actually understands me." crush on each other at some point? Most likely. I'm just gonna let this stand here without further explanation to be honest.
