You're absolutely right, but also, this prepared the Elpis arc in EW. This set up an understanding and respect of the ascians. It's part of why I love them as characters. They made a choice, and lived with it for the millenias after. (Yeah, I'm still salty to the dread wolf). Their morality and ideology may be twisted, it is a logical progression and make sense. That we agree with it or are horiffied does not matter, they are coherent and understandable. (Not Hermes. Fuck Hermes). So I like them.
Me explaining that Emet-Selch often uses the rhetoric of fascists and eugenicists to describe the ancients and he speaks to the scions with a bad faith mentality and his entire character arc is about being unable to let go of the past and I need you all to understand that these things are not coincidence and this is the story explicitly trying to tell you that if you are not careful your nostalgia will become worship of the past which will in turn become horrific fanaticism

Blue, are you alright?
Also, yeah, I would leave the parrots alone. But I'm told my way of thinking about death and changes is weird. I can somewhat apprehend why grief would make someone kill the parrots but also can't really relate. Dead is dead, and soul get recycled. From death, Life.
If your friend who would have lived 100 years got divided into thirteen parrots who would only live 3 years, and you knew that by killing those parrots, you'd get your friend back, would you kill the parrots?
Or does the fact that the parrots, though their abilities cannot be compared to your own, are able to speak and reason and love in their own way mean they deserve to have their own lives, and you need to accept your friend is dead?
Your best friend? Your child? Your lover?
The friend who asked you to save them, before they vanished?
Your entire community? Your whole family?? What if there were only three humans left alive in the whole world, and you'd promised the rest that you would find a way to rescue them?
To me it's perhaps MORE impressive that Emet Selch and Elidibus ultimately side with the parrots.
And her we see beautiful art and a representation of the pain in the ceck that we, max height au ra suffer. Ther is way too many lalafell on this continents!

Depend. If it's regular shitty situation, isolating himself, making himself some tea, and drinking it in silence. Overlooking a nice vista if possible. That's and/or going into a hot spring/baths. Depend what's available.
Go to memory is sleeping in the falcon nest, back when he was a kid, being surrounded by warm feathers, in a less complicated time or sleeping with Y'sthola. Depend of the situation.
If it's shitty day that trigger some old trauma, it's very likely he wouldn't be able to rest and feel restless. Pacing, or scowling at wall until he can check everything is where it should be. Since most of his trauma would be linked to the Scions, he would go seek them out or call them to assert they are alive and well.

How does your WoL handle being alone after a mundanely shitty day? What’s their go-to comforting memory, dream, or a relaxing routine? Something else that restores peace of mind?
Raven is from the hidden communities of Raen in the Fanged Crescent. The Tsubasa and Starhunter clans inhabit them. They trade what they hunt, and they bred the best falcons of Othard. Their villages themselves are hidden atop the mountains, and between the illusions and dangerous wildlife, pretty much unable to be found if you're not invited.
Where is your WoL from? Eorzea? Maybe they're not even from the Source at all?
