“So, how far have you gotten with Jaehyun?”

You almost choke on a pearl from the bubble tea you were sipping, eyes widening in shock at the question your friends asked you. Your nervousness grew as they continue to stare at you, gaze piercing at you, now kind of cowered in your chair in intimidation as you bite the wide straw unconsciously, chewing on it in worry.

“I mean,” You start and your friends perk up in anticipation, nodding their heads and urging you to continue. “We've hugged and kissed, maybe made out a little...” You suddenly realize at that moment how little intimate things you've done with him as your voice trails off gradually into silence.

“Thats it?” One of your friends scoff, rolling their eyes at you. “You've been dating for 6 months, y/n.” You purse your lips in embarrassment. Deep in your heart, you know you shouldn't be embarrassed, this was your relationship and they dont have the rught to say anything about it. But you were Not gonna lie and say that those mere two words didnt get your gears grinding.

“So you've never had sex with him?”

Dating Jung Jaehyun, the sweetheart, was something not far from the kdramas you watched. He was sweet, caring and probably the kindest boyfriend you ever had. but most of all, he was patient, almost ridiculously patient sometimes, but that is also one of the things you admire about him. You don't really like moving too fast in a relationship and he never forces you into anything you dont want, you never feel suffocated when you're with him. ‘baby steps’ as he liked to tell you.

However, that question made you rethink all the things you did with him. Were you being selfish for holding him back from what he really wants? But relationships are supposed to be mutual, you couldn't force yourself to move forward if you werent ready. But is it really mutual if jaehyun is holding back though? You remembered all the times when you two would make out and you would accidentally brush against his hard-on, The memory of him groaning against your lips and excusing himself to the bathroom with a sheepish smile never fails to make you flustered to this day.

“y/n, if you dont have sex with him, then what's gonna make him stay? He'll get bored of you.” Huh? relationships weren't solely about sex, aren't they? Alas, that sentence alone was enough to get your head spinning with thousands of questions. Looking down at the condensation outside of your cup, you wipe the little beads of water in deep thought as the chewed off straw matches the jumbled up thoughts in your brain. sex.

That night, you invited Jaehyun over to your house without any solid plan and you were determined to do at least... something with him. Jaehyun must've noticed something was up by the way you were keeping a distance from him but as always, being the gentleman he is he doesn't ask.

Your palms were sweaty with agitation as you fiddled with your fingers, sitting on the other end of the couch, body pressed up to the arm of the couch as your head was still full of thoughts.

“y/n?” His soft voice snaps you out of your trance, jolting in your seat, finally looking up to see his gentle smile, gaze filled with concern. "Don't you think you're sitting too far away?" His tone was light, joking as he lets out a chuckle.

“O-oh i'm sorry,” You stutter out, moving to scoot a bit closer to him. He gives you a reassuring smile, scooting so his the side of his body was pressed against yours, frowning a little when he feels how stiff you are, but he doesnt show it to you.

“What do you wanna do tonight, baby?” His voice always holds a gentle, soothing lilt to it when he talks to you and it never fails to make your heart race.

“I do have something in mind but I,” You gulp, fingers fiddling with each other on your lap again as you look down at them. “I don't know.” You trail off, biting your lip. jaehyun's eyes moves to your fingers, bringing his hand to your anxious ones, wrapping it around both of yours comfortingly.

“You know i'd be happy with anything if it's with you right—”

“I wanna have sex!” You wince in embarrassment when you exclaimed that, talking over his voice. you finally turn your head to look at him. He looked bewildered, eyes open wide and mouth agape, as he stares back at you.

You clear your throat. “I want to have sex with you.” You repeat, more firmly this time, intertwining your fingers with his and giving it a persistent squeeze. You don't realize it but he can feel your sweating palms and shaking hand and he furrows his brow in confusion.

“y/n I don't know what prompted you to say that but i dont think you're–”

You cut him off with a rough press of your lips to his, a strangled noise escaping his throat as you do. You pull away briefly to look into his eyes through your eyelashes and his adams apple visibly bobs as he swallows.

“I'm ready, so please.” You plead, your grip around his hand tightening. He narrows his eyes in doubt at you.

“If you say so,” You don't even get to blink as he puts his lips back on yours, moving it fiercely, his breath hitting your face as he repeatedly pokes your lip with his tongue until your lips open up, giving him access to your hot cavern. You let out a whimper before you can hold it back when his tongue brushes repeatedly against yours.

Jaehyun lets go of your hand, putting both of his on your shoulders before pushing you down to lie on it, his body hovering over yours. You let out a muffled yelp as your back hits the soft material of the couch, him never breaking the kiss as you places your hand on his clothed chest, your fingers wrinkling his shirt as you latched on it.

He finally breaks the kiss and starts trailing light touches with his mouth down your neck and you hold back a mewl at the feeling. One of his hands move from your shoulder to the underside of your knees, wrapping them around his hips one by one. Your eyes shot open when you feel him grind his hips and his other hand sliding under your shirt to touch your bare stomach.

You were suddenly scared. This is going too fast, but you dont want to stop him. You were afraid of disappointing him and everyone else. Afraid of him leaving you because you were an incompetent partner who's scared of sex. So instead, you squeeze your eyes shut to hopefully forget about the fear.

Jaehyun halts his movements when he feels your fingers clutching his shirt harder, your fingernails almost digging into his skin even through the fabric.

“y/n,” He calls out, big hands stopping their movements to cup your cheeks, thumb gently caressing just above your cheekbones. You open your eyes a little, peeking at his troubled face. You don't even tealize tears were gathering in your eyes until his thumb wipes them away gently.

“I knew it, you're not ready.” He sighs, even though it has no signs of disappointment at all, you could feel your eyes tearing up again and you bite your lip to try and hold it back.

“I'm sorry,” You rasp out, voice quiet. He gets off from you, grabbing your hand to help you sit up too.

“Baby, what are you sorry for?” He strokes your shaking hand with light and soft touches, voice soothing as he comforts you.

“I'm the one sorry for scaring you, okay baby?” He pulls you into a hug, one hand on your back and the other one placing gentle pats on the back of your head. You cant stop your tears from running freely at the sweet gesture, staining the front of his shirt wet as he shushes you repeatedly.

“I'm sorry, its just that my friends said our relationship is moving too slow and that you'll get bored of me.” You croak out when you pull away from him. He frowns at that, brows creasing in confusion and disbelief.

“Baby, who said that because im ready to slap the shit out of them.” He huffs petulantly, hand going up to pat your head. “You know that i'd never leave you no matter what right?

“And your ‘friends’” The way he emphasizes the word almost makes you laugh, but you hold back because you dont want to ruin the mood. “don't know how our relationship is like so you dont have to listen to them, y/n

“You can't let them decide on what you do in our relationship, let alone your life.” He breathes out a sigh. “You definitely don't have to hurry, nor force yourself into anything you're not ready for.

“We can go through this in our own pace, okay?” You swallow the urge to cry again as he says that, muttering out a quiet “okay” in reply as he pulls you into yet another embrace. You close your eyes in relief as you hear his heartbeat thrumming in his chest, allowing your body to relax.

Your worries are now washed down, replaced by a sense of comfort and you can't seem to think about them anymore as he presses sweet, short and giggle-inducing kisses around your face, muttering sweet words and that it's okay to take it slow, he would stay by your side and wait for you.

Not only did the frats and sororities at your college throw a St. Fratty’s Day event every year, but it also consistently fell on the day before your midterms. Anyone as academically driven as you were would have just blown off the event, but you always ended up being peer-pressured into attending. With the number of times you’ve been screwed over, one would think that you would’ve learned your lesson by now.
