So you know when you're writing a scene where the hero is carrying an injured person and you realize you've never been in this situation and have no idea how accurate the method of transportation actually is?
Oh boy, do I have a valuable resource for you!
Here is a PDF of the best ways to carry people depending on the situation and how conscious the injured person needs to be for the carrying position.
Literally a life saver.
(No pun intended.)

current fan creation landscape is kinda like if you went to a party with a homemade cake and everyone takes a slice and silently thumbs up at you with no attempt to start a conversation except for occasionally some guy sits in the corner with a tape recorder critiquing the cake as though he was a restaurant critic and another guy is handing the cake to an uber driver like "yeah i need you to find a restaurant that makes cake like this so i can have more of it" and the only person that's talked to you in 30 minutes is a very sweet little guy who was like "hey i liked your cake" and then ran away apologizing for bothering you the moment you said thank you.
Hi Hedgi! I've never submitted a prompt before but here goes:
For DHD: OG Leverage, Elliot angst in 1x03 "The Two Horse Job". Something regarding him coming home?
(Hi! Yay, your first prompt!!)
"You don't get some kind of homecoming parade," Aimee snapped, storming off.
Homecoming.Eliot takes a step back, like he's reeling from a slap. He wants to stop her, to talk to her. He doesn't move. Homecoming. Somehow that's the word that throws him, not the thought of a parade. A parade is the last thing he wants, so many people looking at him. It's the last thing he deserves, too.
But even if it was something he wanted, even if it was something he'd somehow earned...
He hasn't come home.
This place isn't home, not really. He didn't grow up here. Close enough, sure. And he spent enough time in stables like these, with horses like these, with Aimee. But that's still not right. This isn't where his Dad is. It's not where his Mom's buried.
It hits him like a horse's kick to the chest, the kind that breaks ribs, the kind that makes widows. Grief. He can't afford grief, not in the field. It still gets him, now and again, in those quiet moments like now. It's selfish and pointless and stupid. He's done so much he should regret, so much he does regret, that greets him every morning and stays with him 'til he sleeps, but this is the thing that pricks at him at random.
He should have gone back. For the funeral. He'd have caught hell for it, and a court martial, too. But maybe that would have been worth it, to be here--or close enough-- instead of there when everything went sideways, and sideways again.
He shakes his hair out of his eyes, blinks back the sun. He did come back, once, twice. Too late for it to matter.
Home is where the people who love you are, and Eliot’s not sure he’s really got any of those.

I'm sorry I keep posting my tiktok comments but please. What does this mean. What do people THINK shipping is for anymore???
Tips for writing those gala scenes, from someone who goes to them occasionally:
Generally you unbutton and re-button a suit coat when you sit down and stand up.
You’re supposed to hold wine or champagne glasses by the stem to avoid warming up the liquid inside. A character out of their depth might hold the glass around the sides instead.
When rich/important people forget your name and they’re drunk, they usually just tell you that they don’t remember or completely skip over any opportunity to use your name so they don’t look silly.
A good way to indicate you don’t want to shake someone’s hand at an event is to hold a drink in your right hand (and if you’re a woman, a purse in the other so you definitely can’t shift the glass to another hand and then shake)
Americans who still kiss cheeks as a welcome generally don’t press lips to cheeks, it’s more of a touch of cheek to cheek or even a hover (these days, mostly to avoid smudging a woman’s makeup)
The distinctions between dress codes (black tie, cocktail, etc) are very intricate but obvious to those who know how to look. If you wear a short skirt to a black tie event for example, people would clock that instantly even if the dress itself was very formal. Same thing goes for certain articles of men’s clothing.
Open bars / cash bars at events usually carry limited options. They’re meant to serve lots of people very quickly, so nobody is getting a cosmo or a Manhattan etc.
Members of the press generally aren’t allowed to freely circulate at nicer galas/events without a very good reason. When they do, they need to identify themselves before talking with someone.
Leverage Fic Rec:
Audience: 822,000 and Homeland Security by WerewolvesAreReal on AO3
Summary (from the author):
Hardison starts a live-stream for Dragon Age to show off his new mods. And he kicks ass. But his viewers are actually a bit more concerned about the angry guy in the background of his videos, and the blond chick who keeps peering through his windows.
"Is this some kind of performance art," asks peskytroll341.
Why I recommend it: This fic has excellent writing and humor.
Leverage Fic Rec:
The Principle of Least Action by newt426 on AO3
Summary (from the author):
After having a meltdown in front of the team, Parker is worried that she is "too much" for them. Hardison and Eliot make sure she knows that this isn't true.
Why I recommend it: I adored the portrayal of Parker’s POV and found the story very tender and comforting. I love when fics explicitly portray her autism and her experience of being autistic, as this fic does.
DONT BE AFRAID TO COMMENT ON OLD FICS DONT BE AFRAID TO COMMENT ON FICS IN A FANDOM THE AUTHOR MAY NO LONGER BE ACTIVE IN. IF THE STORY IS STILL UP LET THEM KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS IT MIGHT JUST BE THE REMINDER THAT MAKES THEIR DAY.
SINCERELY SOMEONE WHO JUST GOT A REPLY THAT MADE ME WANNA MAKE THIS POST

what space faith can occupy by Anonymous on AO3
Summary (from the author):
"Parker has never felt so bad at loving than when they pulled Hardison out of his grave."
Further plot summary (by blog admin):
A Parker character study & episode coda to The Grave Danger Job, exploring Parker’s thoughts and emotions.
Why I recommend it: I love how Parker’s perspective is written in this fic. It feels incredibly accurate to her character, and it’s a perfect coda to/extra scene for the episode. Angsty, beautiful, hits you right in the feels!
say something encouraging to other fic writers!

The Not Even Subtle Job by werewolfsmile on AO3

Summary (from the author):
Parker, Hardison and Eliot are happily in love with each other. They keep their personal lives private but when it comes to those closest to them, they don't go out of their way to hide anything. Yet somehow, everyone seems completely oblivious to their relationship status. Like, come on, guys. They're not even subtle!
(or)
The different ways the rest of the team found out about our resident OT3.
Why I recommend it: A fun, humorous take on the Leverage OT3 and their friends, family and foes, set (so far) in Leverage: Redemption. Features POVs from many characters, including Breanna, Harry, Sophie and Cha0s.
crazy how fanfic authors drop the most beautiful and gorgeous pieces of work ever, leaving you speechless and sobbing at three in the morning as you quietly contemplate the masterpiece you just read
and they don’t get paid for it they just do it because they’re having fun and they want to share their joy with you
like I would literally die for all of you fanfic authors out there reblog to swear your allegiance to fanfic authors
Leverage Fic Rec:
don’t let the madness change us by stardustandswimmingpools on AO3
Summary (from the author):
“Parker,” Eliot hisses at the ceiling vent, “what the fuck?"
Aw, shit.
“Aw, shit.” Hardison grimaces, rubbing his head. In the…excitement of the night, he completely forgot about Parker. “Parker, why are you in the ceiling?”
There's a long pause.
“I don't understand the question,” Parker says.
Why I recommend it: Adorable, funny, great fandom debut fic from the author. Another awesome Leverage OT3 fic, lots of hilarious lines. I especially liked how the Hardison/Eliot dynamic was written!

Title: The Hitter’s Girl
I recommend this story as I feel it’s a different take on a Eliot x female oc story. Kaira is a unique character who goes through her own arc and I feel has a good relationship with Eliot.
Content warnings: Individual chapters are marked with seperate warnings based on the chapters but there are mentions of DV, assault, and PTSD flashbacks.
Summary: This story follows Kaira Lynn Newton, ex army turned merc, and her partner Eliot Spencer as they join forces with Nate Ford, Sophie Deveraux, Alec Hardison, and Parker as they take down the rich and powerful while navigating their relationship and learning to change.
Things to note: I based the character of Kaira off of me. Also this is a part 1 and follows all episodes of Leverage.
thank you for the submission!

you can hear it in the silence by AppleJuiz on AO3
Summary (from the author):
The thing about coding is that it’s all about languages. It’s learning new syntaxes and phrases and framings, it’s reshaping your brain to communicate in a new way, with something that feeds on logic and direct lines of thoughts.
Where everyone else looks at Parker and sees something irrational and confusing, he sees a language, he sees a system of logic with rules to be learned.
Hardison slowly becomes fluent in Parker and Eliot.
Why I recommend it: Beautifully written. Another brilliant ot3 fic. There’s never enough Hardison-POV fics in my opinion, I love how this one explores Hardison’s perspective. I also enjoy the Asexual!Parker head canon and this work explores it really well.
Leverage Fic Rec:
Cupressus Sempervirens by page_runner on AO3
Summary (from the author):
All Hardison wants to do is spy on his extremely private, kinda weird, distractingly attractive neighbors.
All Parker wants to do is get a decent night's sleep in a nice box, away from living people.
All Eliot wants to do is dispose of a corpse in the most efficient and least incriminating way possible.
Is that too much to ask?
Why I recommend it: this fic has a very creative and funny AU premise - Eliot is a landscaper, Parker is a cremation specialist, and Hardison is a sex shop owner, with their businesses all neighbouring each other. It’s the perfect fluffy, fun ot3 story that you didn’t know you needed!
Hello Leverage people :) this fandom is very fun and friendly here on tumblr, so I thought it might be nice to have a fanfiction recommendations page, to encourage writers in the fandom and to share the fics you love!
