My SSO headcanon is that pandorian energy works like radiation, mutating and killing the cells of whatever it comes into contact with. The reason it doesn’t affect Pandorians is because it has been stated Pandorians are made up of concepts, ideas, aesthetic and what looks like pink magic, not the DNA-filled cells that radiation would affect.

So how bad is Pandorian energy? I’d say it’s on Beta Radiation’s level. 

“Beta radiation can penetrate human skin. If high levels of beta-emitting contaminants are allowed to remain on the skin for a prolonged period of time, they may cause skin injury.” It’s almost like one sign of Pandoric sickness is scarring of exposed tissue, mainly on the face and arms.

I’m not saying radiation and pandoric energy are exactly the same thing, but to me it seems like Pandoric sickness is caused by some kind of radiation rather than bacteria or a virus. Isn’t radiation fun!?
