Here it is. I recently learned this about myself.. Always thought that something was wrong with me (and god, yes. yes there is. once i put milk before my cereals and felt no remorse) (but that has nothing to do with my sexuality)

I never understood when people were just randomly attracted to people..? Like, celebrities, or hot people that they saw somewhere. You want to date/bang them?? But you dont know them?? What kind of witchraft is this??

Technically Im part of lgbt now?? I dont feel that way. First I was excited, then I found out there is lot of hate for demis, even from within the community.. And know what? I get it. I do. I was raised homophobic and all this shit, because my family never could understand these things. (ooh they are just making up new sexualities/genders) - but no. The thing is. You are straight? You never felt attraction for another gender? Good for u, but can you say that gay people dont exist? Because you dont feel the way they do? Because you dont understand how is it possible? I mean - you can, but its stupid as hell. People are different, deal with it. Demisexuality is a thing. I exist. (sadly) Ehm. 

Whatever. Im just happy that there exist explanation for how I feel.. That there are other people like me. It helps. It sure does help.

♡ Demisexuality is NOT a preference ♡

So this last week I read about demisexuality, and I know I am 1,000,000 % demisexual. I see many, many people say it is a preference, I'm now going to explain why it's not.

So what is demisexuality?

"Demisexuality is a sexual orientation where people only experience sexual attraction to folks that they have close emotional connections with. In other words, demisexual people only experience sexual attraction after an emotional bond has formed."

Now let me explain why it is not a preference.

When a non-demisexual is walking down the street and encounters a stranger they find attractive, they will most likely look and check them out and feel sexual attraction to them, but they might PREFER not to have sex with them, but to have it only with their partner; this is a preference and it does not make you demisexual. Non-demisexuals can feel sexual attraction at first sight, they can feel sexual attraction to random strangers, they can fantasize about celebrities and random strangers they felt sexually attracted to, but they might PREFER to have sex only with someone they have emotionally bonded with, yet the sexual attraction is there, they can experience it.

However, Demisexual people CANNOT experience any sexual attraction to someone that they don't have close emotional connections with. I repeat; Demisexual people CANNOT feel any sexual attraction to someone that they don't have close emotional connections with. So while with non-demisexuals the sexual attraction to a stranger exists but they prefer to have sex only with someone they know and have a close emotional connection with; with demisexuals the sexual attraction toward a random stranger does NOT exist at all, so they cannot "prefer", because they don't have a sexual attraction toward a stranger in the first place. It is just their nature. Demisexual people do not feel sexual attraction at first sight, toward random strangers, they don't fantasize about having sex with random strangers or celebrities or pornstars. Demisexual people begin to experience sexual attraction to someone only when they have emotionally bonded with them.

Does this mean that demisexual people aren't interested in sex?

The answer is NO. As a demisexual, you can be interested in sex, and you can be uninterested in sex. You might masturbate and you might not masturbate. You might watch porn and you might not watch porn. Some demisexuals can feel horny all the time, and some might not. The thing about demisexuals is that when they are horny and they're not currently with someone they're emotionally close to and can feel sexual attraction towards, their horniness wouldn't be about a person, they wouldn't fantasize about having sex with a stranger while masturbating or fantasize about having sex with the pornstar while watching porn, but they are merely aroused by the act of having sex. It is not about the pornstar's body, but the act of having sex that can arouse them; but not necessarily. Some demisexuals masturbate just to let go of the sexual tension. Some demisexuals are not interested in porn at all and might experience sexual desire and interest in sex only when they have met the love of their life. The essential thing about being demisexual is that a demisexual experiences sexual attraction to a specific person only when they have emotionally bonded with this person. It is not a preference. It is not something we choose. It is simply our nature.
