Self Care Sachet!
Hello! This is a quick little guide on making yourself a self care sachet. This can be used by anyone, but is centered around aiding those with long term mental health issues such as depression or anxiety.
They are basically a little promise you are making to yourself. Whether that be to remember to feel less anxiety over doing daily activities such as washing or brushing your teeth or just a reminder to not be so hard on yourself and to drink more hot chocolate, it’s up to you what you pick. The idea is to pick a purpose that cares for you in a positive way. I’ve been making these recently and they have really helped me. As the process is quite beginner friendly I thought I’d share!
You will need:
Herbs of your choice (Optional)
Small crystal (Optional)
Tissue paper (ordinary paper if you lack tissue paper)
scissors
A lighter/matches
Tape OR string
pen
ordinary paper/leaf
1. Write your intent down.
Some examples of intent: “I try my best to eat regular meals” “I am able to stay calm outside of my room” “I allow myself to enjoy a hot chocolate”.
Create a sigil out of your statement and write it down on another piece of paper or a leaf.
Read your statement out loud and will all of your energy into visualising it coming to fruition.
Burn the piece of paper/ the leaf and collect the ashes.
2. Gather your materials.
Cut a small square to make your sachet with from your tissue paper.
Add each of your chosen herbs to the middle. (I chose lavender for peace/anxiety, sage for wisdom and cleansing and dried dandelions picked in beltane for positivity and energy)
Add your crystal.
Close the sachet by either taping it or tying it together with a piece of string.
3. Hold the sachet in your hands.
Again, visualise all of your positive thoughts and good energy flowing through your arms down into the sachet. Kiss it, if that’s your thing.
You are done! Carry the sachet with you in your pocket, put it under your pillow, do whatever you want with it. Hope you have a nice day c:
When you are a witch...
When you are a witch, you will see things in a new light When you are a witch, you’ll want to dance in the night When you are a witch, whispers won’t be voices but spirits When you are a witch, you can have a sense of normality but feel nowhere near it When you are a witch, things might seem hard When you are a witch, a familiar spirit will be your guard When you are a witch, loving is really loving and hurting is really hurting and nothing will be the same Now that you are a witch, you know that it isn’t a game.
Spell to Cleanse→ a Stolen Item
- sandalwood incense - white candle - sage
Steps:
1. Begin by cleansing the room with your sage. Depending on the form of sage you have, you can burn it and smoke the bad energies out or you can throw it in a mix. If you have any other prepared powders, stones, or recipes for cleansing mixes, now is the time to whip them out. You can hum or sing or get lost in some ritual music while you cleanse. Make sure you end up in the right mindset. Focus on moving forwards, finding peace with your own mistakes.
2. (optional) This is where I usually like to cast a circle. Sometimes it will be physically drawn out, others it will be drawn with the point on my finger or a wand.
3. (optional) Ask your deity to join you and light the candle. Say a prayer, light and offer the incense.
4. Picture yourself. Picture yourself free from grief, pride, and violence. Picture yourself clean, pure, almost infantile. Picture yourself happy. Picture whatever eases and calms your mind.
5. Hold the stolen item above the incense and let the smoke gradually heat the surface, cleansing it with the help of the fire and air elements. Thank the elements.
6. Say, “I ask for your forgiveness, [deity/elements/void/etc] I will only use this [item] When the purpose is for betterment. Undeservingly received, I now cleanse thee.” (Yes of course you can just write it down or think it. I’m not the police and this is your craft.)
7. Remove the item from the smoke when it feels right. I like to kiss the item lightly until the heat from the smoke fades. Think of this as blessing the item with your own personal touch.
8. Thank your deity, or the elements, or the never-ending terror of the void, or etc one last time. Snuff out the candle.
9. Let the incense burn.
