Die Sossusvlei Lodge liegt in der ältesten Wüste der Welt und ist ein luxuriöser Rückzugsort in dieser erstklassigen Attraktion in Namibia. Die Lodge befindet sich am Eingangstor zum Namib Naukluft Park und bietet direkten Zugang zu den hoch aufragenden roten Sanddünen, der berühmten Pfanne von Sossusvlei, den verbrannten schwarzen Bäumen des Dead Vlei und den bemerkenswerten Tiefen des Sesriem Canyon. Zu den Aktivitäten, die Besucher während ihres Aufenthalts genießen können, gehören Hubschrauberflüge. Woermann House was completed in 1905. The tower was named “Damara Tower” from where observers used to look for ships in the ocean and ox wagons in the desert. In April 1909 the Damara and Namaqua Trading Company sold all its shares to the company C. Woermann and to their shareholders and was renamed to “Woermann Brock & Co. which is the present day name.

On the 18th of June 1924 Woermann Brock Co. sold the Woermann House to the Administrator of South West Africa and on the 10th of December the building was declared a historic monument.

Das Woermann-Haus wurde 1905 fertiggestellt. Der Turm wurde „Damara-Turm“ genannt, von wo aus Beobachter im Meer nach Schiffen und in der Wüste nach Ochsenwagen Ausschau hielten. Im April 1909 verkaufte die Damara und Namaqua Trading Company alle ihre Anteile an die Firma C. Woermann und deren Aktionäre und wurde in „Woermann Brock & Co.“ umbenannt, was auch heute noch der Name ist. Am 18. Juni 1924 verkaufte die Woermann Brock Co. das Woermann-Haus an den Administrator von Südwestafrika und am 10. Dezember wurde das Gebäude unter Denkmalschutz gestellt.

In 1855, the British Africa explorer, missionary and adventurer David Livingstone "discovered" the Victoria Falls and was so taken by their beauty that he named them after the British Queen at the time. With the construction of the railway line from Cape Town to Cairo - which was never completed - and the completion of the bridge over the Zambezi in 1905, the first tourists arrived. The following year the legendary Victoria Falls Hotel was built. UNESCO declared the falls a World Heritage Site in 1989.

1855 „entdeckte“ der britische Afrikaforscher, Missionar und Abenteurer David Livingstone die Victoria Fälle und war von deren Schönheit so eingenommen, dass er sie gleich nach der damaligen britischen Königin benannte. Mit dem Bau der Eisenbahnlinie von Kapstadt nach Kairo – die nie fertig gestellt wurde – und der Fertigstellung der Brücke über den Sambesi im Jahr 1905 kamen die ersten Touristen. Im Jahr darauf entstand dann auch das legendäre Victoria Falls Hotel. Die UNESCO erklärte die Wasserfälle 1989 zum Welterbe.

Das Boteti River Camp liegt am Rande des Dorfes Khumaga und ist leicht erreichbar, egal ob man von Maun, Nata, Kasane oder Khama Rhino Sanctuary aus fährt. Das Camp ist eine schöne Ergänzung jeder Botswana-Safari, das fantastische Kontraste bietet gegenüber Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, Chobe National Park und dem Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Vom Boteti River Camp können Gäste eine der größten Salzpfannen der Welt erkunden und Botswanas einzigartige ländliche Kultur in einer freundlichen, komfortablen und ruhigen Umgebung kennen lernen. 

Der Ort Karibib entstand an einer Wasserstelle die von den Herero Otjandjomboimwe genannt wurde. Der Kaufmann Eduard Hälbich Junior, ein Sohn des Kaufmanns und Wagenbauers Eduard Hälbich in Otjimbingwe, kaufte 1894/95 dem Herero-Kaptein Zacharias Zeraeua die Wasserstelle sowie 20.000 Hektar Land ab. Hälbich eröffnete in Karibib um 1897 ebenfalls ein Geschäft. Die Ansiedlung entwickelte sich schnell, vor allem als die neu erbaute Eisenbahn von Swakopmund aus den Ort am 30. Mai 1900 erreicht. Am 1. Juni des gleichen Jahrs wurde die Bahnstrecke Swakopmund–Windhoek offiziell eröffnet. Dieses Datum gilt als Gründungsdatum von Karibib.

The place Karibib arose at a water point, which was called Otjandjomboimwe by the Herero. The merchant Eduard Hälbich Junior, a son of the merchant and wagon builder Eduard Hälbich in Otjimbingwe, bought the water point and 20,000 hectares of land from the Herero captain Zacharias Zeraeua in 1894/95. Hälbich also opened a shop in Karibib around 1897. Settlement took place quickly, especially when the newly built railway from Swakopmund reached the town on May 30, 1900. On June 1 of the same year, the Swakopmund–Windhoek railway line was officially opened. This date is considered the founding date of Karibib.
