Thor (Chris Hemsworth) gets help from his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), friend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and the warriors of Asgard. Pros: Impressive visual effects, Dynamic battle scenes, Charismatic Loki, Light humor. Cons: Simple, predictable plot, Malekith antagonist not threatening enough, Little connection to other Marvel films. Overall it's just an entertaining movie with good visuals and action scenes but a simple plot.

They meet Ego (Kurt Russell), who claims to be Star-Lord's father. Pros: Retention of style and humor, Deeper character development, Emotional family story, Impressive visuals, Great soundtrack. Cons: Less dynamic plot, Not very interesting new characters, Protracted finale. Overall, it's a decent sequel with an emotional story and good effects, but a less dynamic plot.
