On Net Neutrality

This is, obviously a massive issue. This could fundamentally remove internet privacy, hobble education and squash small businesses.

But you know what else it could do?

It could kill people.

Yes.

It could kill people.

Take, for example, Youtubers. Let’s take @markiplier for example. Hundreds of people, if not thousands (at my estimate) have been saved from suicide by him. Hundreds of people write in that he saved their lives.

So what if all those people suddenly can’t afford to engage in practices that keep them from committing suicide?

Suicide. That’s what happens.

Many people depend on these websites as a coping mechanism.

Many people depend on these websites in general, for a variety of reasons. They could be providing them with psychological support, understanding their own sexuality, to not be alone and many many other things. You can’t call a suicide hotline if you don’t know the suicide hotline and can’t look it up.

Without access to these sites, those people could, and some quite likely will, die.

This.

Could.

Kill.

People.

Basically everything would be ruined:

•Schools would have to pay more to get their resources for teaching (because I know our school system has one [shitty] system that every teacher uses basically as a guideline to what we learn that’s ON THE INTERNET)

•people would have to pay to do their fucking jobs

•no one would have any way to express their opinions openly with people around the world

•no one could get in touch with family/friends that are overseas

•no online help or anonymous (mini) therapy (leading to higher suicide rates)

•some businesses being shut down completely

•etc. etc.

This is so stupid. Why are these people putting their own country in jeprody of collapsing in on itself. Do they not realize that if this goes through and there’s no more net neutrality, society is basically going to collapse and it makes their jobs so much harder. They just want it for the money and aren’t thinking of the consequences that’re going to happen
