A long time ago, twenty years ago, on live-journal, I tried to create a Femslah/yuri community to promote F/F in the fandom. I fed it almost by myself and then gave up.

I'm hetero so my ship by default is M/F, and for my beginning in fandom, I searched and shipped hetero relationship. But women and girls, with a good characterization, was rares.

My friends of fandom shipped M/M and I fallen in the hole with them. But, after some years, I was disappointed because I had need to read about F/F, about M/F, about equality ships, about all the fricking rainbow colors. I had LGBT friends since my childhood, my parents were open mind and accepting. I was lucky, I grow up in tolerance life.

I try, again today, but it's difficult to fight because all fricking medias are under the thumb of patriarchy. Men are in majority producers, writers, screenwriters, directors, own and distribute money for projects. So, Men have good things and Women are decorative, bland, often they're just an accessory for the men of the movie/tv show/books…

Why the fuck, for the first meeting with the female protagonist second role, I need to see her in bikini? Why? But all men are wearing something giving them a serious and professional appearance…

Give me a girl Hermione Granger again who has bushy, nerd, a bit of pest, a Luna was lunatic and out of step with the rest of the world, give me a Bulma, with all her defaults and craving for hot men, give me Tomoyo so crazy about Sakura, a strong Xena and naive and smart Gabrielle, a Sam Carter strong and smarty, a Buffy stupid but smart, feroce and proud but fragile and in the need to strong and equal companion ship, give me Faith again, Nyota Uhura, a strong, quirky woman like Brenda Leigh Johnson or Dr Megan Hunt, or Root and Sammy, Angua, Leia Organa, Amidala, Katara, Toph, Korra, Bones… but multiplied by 2, by 3, in a canon universe, not alone, surrounded, suffocated by the absurd additional population of men. Don't give me "Barbie" or a freaking "Mary-Sue" so perfect and with so whump past but irreal, give me a butch woman who doesn't need a man to save her, who takes decisions and lives as she likes, give me woman intelligent, sassy, not feminine by Hollywood's flawed standards, give me woman not starved, because men obligate them to slim down, lose weight, be ageless, give me real women and I'll write you about femslash or het. Because I write about the 3 ships: M/F, M/M and F/F. I'm for equality, but if we don't find women in the canon and above all good woman characterization, we can't create something.

It just kills me when writers create franchises where like 95% of the speaking roles are male, then get morally offended that all of the popular ships are gay. It’s like, what did they expect?

probably i just said it but i want to say it again:

- don’t apologise if you don’t know english.

- yes, english is the most common language on the internet but you are not forced to know it perfectly.

- your own language is beautiful.

- non-english people make a huge effort to write in English everyday on this website.

- support non-english people and don’t make them feel bad if they do not know English. 

- actually support all the languages.

- spread more language diversity on Tumblr.
