The PokéMigawari profile on Twitter is hosting a contest on which you have to design an existing Pokémon’s regional variation for the new region we got with Sword and Shield, Galar. This is my entry, I decided to go with a form for Gardevoir, one of my top favorite Pokémon! Gardevoir are very protective of its trainer, so I thought a knight inspiration would work perfectly (its name in japanese is Sirnight, even!). It lost its fairy typing, thus becoming a dual psychic/steel type: a hardened and sturdy body made for combat, while keeping the psychic powers needed to predict foes’ movements and intentions. Galarian Gardevoir’s steel arm plates adapted over time. One grew too much in size and became thicker and sturdier, thanks to the Pokémon’s overuse of it to block attacks; the other, grew a long and sharp edge because of the habit they have on honing it for better attacking, thus becoming similar to a blade. Gardevoir do have a preferred side as well, just like humans (left handed or right handed). Some have their shield located on their left arm while the blade is located on the right, though rarer.

Next regional form is the Voltorb line based on Moon & Dusk balls. The Voltorb & Electrode in the Johto region are nocturnal. They are more aggressive and blow up if anyone steps into their territory. Our first regional form! Bonsly found themselves dealing with tougher competition, and so began using their mimicry skills to strike back against pokemon harassing them. This led to evolving into the counter-focused sudojoodo once it evolves.

These toasty warm regional variants are based on hot springs and Turkish bathhouse designs. These numel have adapted to live in geyser fields, using their warm bodys to heat the water they store in their backs. Camerupts will let bird pokemon bathe in their large tub-shaped humps.
