i think all quiet on the western front and the lord of the rings are in direct conversation with each other, as in theyre the retelling of the same war with one saying here’s what happened, we all died, and it did not matter at all and another going hush little boy, of course we won, of course your friends came back

while i love the lord of the rings movies and all of the actors, the film lacked slightly in portraying Legolas's cuntyness.

the "while you all struggle to move waist-deep in snow, i will simply dance elegantly on top of it to mock you" cuntyness

the "shooting three arrows to show off while the hobbit struggles to hold a sword" cuntyness

the "being 2000 years old but still acting like a fucking child" cuntyness
