“I wouldn’t say they’re healthy or make a good meal but-” Asa leaned forward, holding her hand out for some of Mine’s dark chocolate-covered espresso beans.

“They add a little pep to your step~!” She gathers up another fistful before sprinkling some into the palm of the other’s hand. “Though I suppose it may fall short of being an actual meal.”

“And where exactly did you think Ayame learned his fierce work-ethic from?”
With an arched brow, Hatori turned towards the false maid and moved to rest his chin in his palm, and his elbow on his desk. He hadn’t expected company, admittedly, particularly not so from the serpent’s partner. ‘Partner,’ yes, in all senses of the word- that was what Mine was to Ayame. In a way, it was comforting for the physician- to know Aya had a safety net when things grew rough. It was… Relieving.
Hatori found her to be an interesting creature herself, to so readily accept their curse, to join this circus called the Sohma clan while batting her eyelashes innocently. It was… Intriguing.
Snuffing out the cigarette- the scent would ‘cling’ to the expensive fabric, and stain the garment brown (how many times had Mine chided Hatori for it), Hatori moved to now stand, opting to pour his visitor a little drink. A bit cheekily, he extended the glass out towards her, and it was here that he issued a silent challenge: this is one of my best years, how many sips of this scotch will it take before you’re on the floor? Let’s see how you hold your liquor, Mine.
“This should loosen us up. Drink.”

“No sex can be a pretty powerful motivator, Tori.” She retorts, adjusting her glasses as if proving a point. A serious expression seems to take over her usual cheerful demeanor, though it only lasts briefly before the corners of her lips twitch into a grin. While she herself was very open about her sexuality, she knew a certain dragon who was not. With a soft chuckle she smooths out the front of her dress, making sure her apron was just right. “All jokes aside, I think it speaks volumes that Aya listens to every word you have to say. I’m sure you definitely had a hand in his discipline when it comes to his craft. He’s about as difficult, if not more so, to pull away from his work.”
Her gaze lingers on the cigarette that he snuffs out, giving him a knowing look before following him as he stood to pour her a drink. It was no secret that Hatori liked his whiskey, and not just any old whiskey; his profession did well to fund his guilty pleasure by allowing him some of the best liquor money could buy. With a nod she accepts the silent challenge, taking the glass and proudly knocking it back before wrinkling her nose a little at the burn. “Ah... I feel honored that you’re sharing a drink with me. Hopefully this means you’ll allow yourself some time to relax. Aya is out of town with some potential clients, so you’ll have to forgive my selfish desire to want to spend time with you. It’s not often enough that it’s just the two of us.”
Hi Mine-san! When did you first meet Ayame-san?

“How did Aya-chan and I meet? Well...”
//Hey there, anon! If you don’t mind I’m going to take over this question. Unfortunately Mine is one of those characters that didn’t really get a real chance to shine imho. There’s so much that goes into her besides being Ayame’s seamstress/beau. I’m incredibly fond of them meeting at a fashion show, class, what have you--- but if I’m being honest my personal headcanon is that Ayame met Mine at one of her previous jobs. Ayame is very honest about the nature of some of his clientele, so I can totally envision him being the go-to guy for cute and functional outfits for escorts/strippers/showgirls. I like to imagine that Mine has had a few questionable job titles in the past and being a showgirl is one of them. Imagine Ayame wondering why less and less of the girls are buying outfits, goes in to check on things, and boom. The girls are there and dressed to the nine’s but even though they look great, that certainly isn’t his work. Finds out that the girls are buying hand-tailored outfits from a fellow showgirl (Mine) who is doing so to make a few extra bucks on the side and to pay for materials to work on her own projects. She’s protective of her girls and wants them to feel the most comfortable and gorgeous when they perform. Ayame recognizes talent when he sees it and offers Mine a job to be his little helper. I like the idea of Ayame inviting her to work at his shop when it first opens, but I’m also so very partial to the thought of Mine being one of the powerhouses behind helping Ayame achieve his dream. Long story short, I think Ayame saw some of her work, began to spend more time with her, and after a while fell in love. I love them SO MUCH.

“I really do insist that you take a break, even if it’s just for a moment. I swear you’re just as bad as Ayame...” It’s as though she’s stepping from one organized chaos to another, although instead of the scent of flowers and fabric she’s met with tobacco and whiskey.

“ MY my my — dear, your skin is flawless and I DID happen to be use the face wash that you suggested to me. It WORKS wonders for my pores. The stuff you gave me protects my skin with its high antibacterial potency and with the help of eating STRAWBERRIES we will both walk away flawlessly – together.” Enjoying times like this, ALLOWING himself to be comfortable – allowing himself to be —- well, himself. ALTHOUGH he never DID have a problem with doing such before — it was just comforting to know that whatever he did do NOW, there was no rejections or people painfully putting up with his existence over all ( — it never really did OCCUR to him that people didn’t like him till just a few days ago. He ALWAYS considered himself to be pretty much ideal ) Unlike others, Ayame didn’t really enjoy silences, comforting or not. He felt although there needed to be some type of conversation OTHERWISE the company would just up and leave. ( – the FEAR of that only settled in the back of his mind. )
Once taking another sip he’d sigh happily, placing it down on the saucer. “ I MUST say, the details you are putting into the lace do certainty add a NICE touch to the front. I thought maybe the supplementary elements might have THROWN it off. How INDISTINCT my brief look was — remind me to look it over my thoroughly in the future.” SOMETIMES even he WANTED to get a project done more QUICKLY than that of the deadline but you can NEVER rush art.

“Aya-chan, you simply spoil me with compliments. I’m glad to hear that the face wash works though, I’ll be sure to pick up more of it when I go out next~!” She chirps, taking another sip of her tea and happily listening to Ayame ramble on. Unlike others she never really found herself bothered by the snake, only ever becoming frustrated when he overexerted himself too much. He was a beautiful man dedicated to his beautiful craft and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Perhaps that was why she never really understood the commonly asked question as to ‘how she dealt with him’. Ayame was undoubtedly the best thing to come into her life, a thought that proved true every time he would kneel to place her shoes upon her feet before heading out. “There’s a new little shop that specializes in beauty products that I’ve been wanting us to visit! When this project is finished I’d love to plan a little date.”
She nurses the warm cup of tea between her hands, nimble fingers wrapped in a few colorful bandages from having poked herself sewing the very lace he spoke of. One last sip is taken before she sets her cup down in the saucer, bringing her hands together in a cheerful little clap. “You think so? It’s certainly a time-consuming task, but I think it’s worth it! The lace design matches perfectly with the beautiful fabric you chose~!”
