honestly adding a paper background to your digital canvas is a game changer and i suggest you do it if you want to feel like you're actually drawing on paper with real pencils, or at least an approximation of it. i could share some if anyone's interested

I love that my current hyperfixation are my own ocs

So now, if i want art or merch of them

I have to make it

or have friends who wanna make characters to exist in their universe and interact with them

Feeling the compulsive urge to post about my oc's as if they have an established fanbase and aren't actually from wips I haven't even introduced on tumblr yet

I got physical stickers printed of my ocs

Honestly be pretentious as fuck about the stuff you create. Do a press release for your fanfic updates. Do a Q&A about your webcomic. Make fake merch designs for your OCs. Commission "official" book covers. Very few of us will ever get to a stage where something we've created Makes It Big but even if you have an audience of 5 people plus a shoelace fucking indulge yourself and pretend!! It's the only way to live!!

Ok so I have two ocs (Finley and Eli) that i have not given much of a story to despite the fact that I cannot stop drawing them

So my amazing friend @dusky-star a while ago asked if I wanted to do an oc redesign swap with them (where we give each other old ocs to redesign) and I originally offered a different oc but then gave them full freedom to do Finley and Eli if they wanted

So this is the result of that redesign

The drawings are @dusky-star’s, all I did was ink and color because I wanted to try out a new digital coloring style

(Finley is on the left, Eli is on the right)

They also made their own character for this universe and got @poet-pufflehuff and @kangaspark to make characters as well

And all I’ve got to say is just

You guys are so good at making characters

And I have no idea where this is going to go but I’m excited

So have whatever Is actually going on here with my ocs Eli (the blue one) and Finley (the blonde one)

Finley (the blond one) is just lightly poisoned by something that may or may not have been intended for him

Nothing to worry about
