ART 122-01, week #15 (final week)
Do forgive the typos, I have been awake since yesterday morning and waves of body swaying sleepiness is trying to steal my consciousness. I gotta wake up for the drive home from class..
So, this is the final week of Theory and Process, and we have delivered our manifestos. Mine was a series of illustrations set to a 500 word piece, in bite sized pieces to go with the illustrations.
The illustrations themselves varied, I did them with a tablet and windows paint (but the new updated one where you can backspace infinite maybe times. Jee-elous?) I like maybe three specific lines form the whole thing- maybe I will post just those ones later- but cause overall I felt unsure about my manifesto. I feel like it was not as good as it could have been. The classmate named Alex had a similar premise where you reference specific points in order to be helpful. I actually liked hers more- since it was smaller and intimate with a little notebook and post-its- like a literal helpful guide to hold in your hands. Also, more relating to actual art. Mine addressed little points dealing with depression- but I feel like it was needed. Maybe someday I'll redo it for me.
So, this was a good class. There have been times when it blended a lot with the other one in my head jelly brain and even now it feels like a rocking tide and NO DONT GO TO SLEEP YOU HAVE TO DRIVE WAKE UP. But yeah, Katie's a kind teacher who tries to reach her class and work with us and I dunno if I mentioned that in the other entry, but it's here-- that counts for both classes, obviously. I've learned a bit about history and the Art Nouveau period and Dadaism were my favorite parts to cover.
