I sometimes have to remind myself that this guy was the protagonist of a 90s manga and not a modern cartoon. He would get along famously with modern protagonists (Anne, Luz, etc). He canonically has one of the strongest abilities in the series and he uses it for petty things all the time, like stealing money from his father or investigating spaghetti.
