Summary | It is the night before the final battle and everyone has gone to spend what could be their past night with loved ones. Cloud and Tifa have no one but each other and on this night express certain emotions.

The wind picked up a bit, making her black hair flow along with it. She heard Cloud's footsteps and turned to look at him.

'Words aren't the only thing that tell people what you're thinking…'

She had said that.

Unable to speak the emotions he had been feeling built up, he reached over to gently push some loose strands of hair from her face. His hand lingered by her cheek and she couldn't help but leaned her head against his palm.

So large and warm…

He moved in closer, slightly hesitant, afraid he might've misread the signs. His face was so close to hers. At that moment she was afraid he would pull away and was ready for that dejected feeling.

But he didn't.

He moved closer, until his lips gently pressed against hers. She was surprised that he had managed to do so and couldn't help but place her hands on his arms as she closed her eyes and kissed him back instantly so he wouldn't pull away as quickly.

Cloud was caught a bit off guard when she pressed against the kiss, but wasn't against it as he found himself wrapping his arms around her frame.

Slowly but surely the kiss became heated and intimate, their bodies no longer apart, their lips only parting for a second of air before returning to the kiss. Soft moans filling the night air as Cloud's hands would trace Tifa's curves, one gloved hand against the small of her back, the other against her waist.

Tifa's hands didn't shy away from exploring his body either. Feeling his muscles, tracing every bit of him, wanting to imprint this feeling in her mind so she would not confuse it for a dream later on.

"Cloud…" she panted softly. "I want more… of your touch…"

He didn't hesitate as he gave in to her desire. His hand slipping under her skirt to caress her thigh, the other moving up her black and underneath her top, tracing circles on her skin.

She pressed her body against his, slowly grinding against him, making him give a low groan against her lips.

"Tifa…"

She took the opportunity and used her tongue to invade his mouth, taking him by surprise. He had never really done this before, so he followed her lead, using his tongue to rub against hers.

The heat continued to rise as Tifa felt something pressing against her leg, making her feel flustered, but also a sense of pride that she was able to make Cloud feel such intensity.

Her hands wrapped around him, feeling his muscular tone back through his shirt, making her grip the clothing, almost tempted to just rip it to feel his exposed skin.

Cloud felt a similar feeling burning inside of him as he would caress her body, memorizing every part of her, making sure to keep in mind how she reacted depending on where he would touch.

Tifa snaked her leg around his waist, their midsections rubbed against each other and she began to grind softly against him.

Cloud groaned softly, feeling himself getting hard against her, meeting her grinds with his own. If only the fabric wasn’t in the way, they would easily be able to connect with each other in a more physical way.

Tifa could feel her heat craving for him the more she would grind against him, going a bit faster to satisfy that desire. She could not help but think about the possible outcome of them both giving in to those desires. To be pinned underneath him, have him go not just gentle but rough with her and make her moan as loud as she could.

Cloud could feel his arousal throbbing against the cloth that are his undergarments, blushing at the very image his mind was conjuring of making love to Tifa. It took all his self-control not to just pin her to the ground and give in to the urges that were building up in his body and mind.

The thought of his naked body pressed against hers as they would shamelessly make love on the ground, not caring about anything. Not the battle, not Sephiroth, not the world. No, it would only be the two of them, sating their lust and desire, finding comfort in each other instead.

Though they desired so much, the need for a breath was stronger and their lips parted, only a thin string of saliva kept their lips connected for a few seconds.

They were panting, their bodies tangled and heated from the small make out session, the chill no longer bothering them.

"I told you… words weren't the only way…" she teased with a small smile.

No other words were said as they eventually released each other. Neither feeling lonely or even worried about what was to come. Cloud reached over and took a hold of her hand in his.

“We should get some rest… Tomorrow we…”

Tifa nodded. “Yeah, I know…”

They sat down by an elevated area of the mountain. Tifa leaned against Cloud, the young man wrapped an arm around her as she rested against him.

“Cloud…?”

“Mm?”

Tifa bit her bottom lip. She had wanted to ask him so many things, but decided perhaps it was not the right time now. “Make sure to get some rest…” she spoke.

“Yeah. You too…”

Nothing more was said between them. Sleep took over and before long, the night had come to an end. The sun rising, giving out a warm glow to the Highwind in the skies, the mountain, and the young couple that had shared an intimate moment the night before.

POV: They broke into your room while you were changing.

Do you think Ino and Sasuke could’ve made a good couple? How do you think Ino being on Team 7 would’ve shifted their dynamic and overall storyline?

This was a really good question, for starters. 

Do I think Ino Yamanaka and Sasuke Uchiha would make a good couple?

Short answer: Yes. I think they are absolutely stunning together. I also would prefer them for the fact that I consider Ino my queen and Sasuke is my everything. So of course I’d want them together—shipping goggles aside though, I genuinely admire their dynamic/relationship.

So, here’s the long answer as to why:

Starting off with Ino’s introduction:

She’s so pure, even from childhood. Her first unique trait is that she gives flowers to those based on their meanings/representations. Ino’s first flower that she attempted to give to Sasuke was one that meant “friendship”. From the beginning, Ino knew Sasuke was in pain and longing for connection, and what made that scene better was that Ino didn’t know about Sasuke’s family, she only knows that he was always off by himself. So when she attempted to give him the flower meaning friendship, it spoke to us as readers that this was Ino’s way of reaching out to others.

Studio Pierrot ruined that moment though and turned it into Sasuke walking past her without even acknowledging her. In the actual scene, Sasuke acknowledges Ino’s attempt, but her shyly turns away from her. They painted his disregard to her as hostile when the actual scene portrayed him being shy. 

The next time we encounter Ino, she approaches Sasuke without hesitation:

This was the moment my heart began shipping them. (not actually, I did find it cute though)

This was the scene where it made me realize that Ino is the kind of person people need around; she’s confident, friendly and courageous. Little moments like these say so much about her, it’s heartwarming. 

Also, I want to express why I think Ino would have been good for Sasuke:

1.) She is the literal definition of supportive. 

In various instances, it’s Ino that holds people together. She’s the backbone of everyone she touches. She radiates this beautiful energy that puts life back into those who need it. 

If she were romantically involved with Sasuke Uchiha, I know for certain that she would encourage him to find the happiness within himself, while pulling him back to the surface with a gentle touch and her beautiful smile.

2.) She cares so much.

Even when she’s hurting or have other things going on, her first concern is always that of others, especially her teammates. She has shown this compassionate nature since she was a child. 

Sasuke could use someone like Ino, because she would always ask him what’s on his mind, she’d allow him to express himself. 

3.) She’s selfless.

When the others feel like they are going to crumble, Ino steps in to remind them why they continue to fight. She puts other people’s well being/lives before hers. She helps others get back on their feet, she gives them a reason to see another day. Her selfless nature carries over into adulthood; she wants the best for everyone. 

This is what Sasuke needs. Even if they hadn’t ended up together romantically, Ino is the only true character that’s selfless in every action she takes. At least if their friendship had of developed properly, Sasuke would be able to have someone in his life that doesn’t want anything from him but his happiness.

4.) She’s brave.

In the Ino-Shika-Cho formation, Ino is always the first one to make a move, the other two always follow behind her. She’s not afraid to be out front, she even admits that she doesn’t need to be protected by them. 

Ino would be the person to help Sasuke face the things he’s afraid of most, like his fear of losing those close to him. Ino would be the person to reassure and encourage Sasuke to not let that eat him alive; she’d be brave enough to face those things with him. 

Ino brings the best out in people, however she also just always wants the best for people too. I think Ino Yamanaka would be the perfect fit for Sasuke Uchiha because she’s a beautiful soul with a selfless heart. 

How would Ino change the dynamic of Team 7?

Ino being apart of team 7 would change the dynamic because it would impact Sasuke Uchiha the most.

We have to remember that Ino is very understanding, compassionate and selfless.

With those personality traits in mind, her interactions with Sasuke would be more about him, rather than herself. She’s quite a curious person, so I think off the bat she would pose questions about Sasukes family or at least wanting to know more about him. How Sasuke would react depends on the kind of questions she would ask. I think in all honesty, Sasuke would open up to her first and foremost before anyone and not only because their teammates, but because he genuinely trusts her. I think that if Ino would be the person Sasuke Uchiha would think about at the back of his head when he ultimately decides to leave the village. Her presence would have a greater impact on him, because as I mentioned before, she only wants the best for everyone. I think as Sasuke spirals down his path of loneliness and destruction, it would be Ino he thinks of in place of those broken bonds he experienced when losing his family. 

I also don’t think Sasuke Uchiha would ever bring himself to even think about hurting her. Because she would never place her own feelings above his, in order to make him comply with anything.

As for Naruto, I highly doubt anything romantic would even begin to form. I say that because Ino is not centered around romance and she doesn’t really seem to care that deeply for it. With that being said, she isn’t immediately enamored by people easily. She admires hard work and skills, but she wouldn’t develop that strange awe of Naruto the way Sakura did because Ino is a naturally supportive friend, I think she’d accomplish being close to Naruto without making it feel romantic (basically what she’s like with Shikamaru). 

In terms of combat training / skills together as a team, assuming she keeps her clan techniques, she wouldn’t exactly be a strong asset to the team in terms of combat power, but she excels in everything else. You have to also remember that Ino was the second highest ranking student for the written tests in the academy, under Sasuke. So she’s not a dunce when it comes to anything else, she just wouldn’t have that raw, intense power the way Sakura does.

Overall I think Ino Yamanaka’s addition to Team 7 would be lighthearted, supportive, healthy and memorable. She’d hold her boys together, while encouraging them to be themselves, not shrouding themselves in loneliness. She’d be their companion, their partner, their teammate, their leader. Ino’s addition would fill every role possible because that’s just the kind of person she is. 

I mean just look at her. Team 7 wishes they had Ino. Their missing out.
