Rereading Oathbringer and that moment where kaladin couldn’t swear the fourth ideal is just so raw and emotional to me. He is trying so hard to be ready and to save everyone but he’s still suffering too much from swing friends in both sides dying. And to me it makes the moment in the Highstorm where he swears the ideal that much greater because know he has begun to forgive himself.
