Call/Write Your Senators To STOP BILL S.1409 (KOSA)
‼️Call/Write your Senators to STOP BILL S.1409 (KOSA)‼️
This is not my normal content but the word needs to spread
‼️KOSA IS A MASSIVE ONLINE CENSORSHIP BILL‼️
This bill is proposed by, Richard Blumenthal and Marsha Blackburn, who is very vocal about being against LGBT ppl!
It will force everyone online who wants to use a website to UPLOAD THEIR GOVERNMENT ID AND AGE TO THE PUBLIC!
Yes they did change the language of the bill but the sentiment is still the same. It will be used for censorship no matter what they say.
THIS BILL COULD PASS THE SENATE AS SOON AS NEXT WEEK AND THEN THE HOUSE THE SAME DAY
Omarsbigsister on TikTok is going into more detail.
This is so serious and will change the internet as we know it. People need to spread the word and call/write their senators.
Omarsbigsister on TikTok has videos and recourses on their page to help.

Please remember to call your representatives about KOSA. This is still a massive issue and apparently it has enough support to pass in the Senate, which is terrifying. We must stop this from becoming law.
if you are a USAmerican and care about any of the following:
fandom spaces and activities, such as shipping, fanart, fanfiction, and more
the LGBTQ+ community
sexism, feminism
racisism, racial equality
the genocide in palestine
the things happening in sudan, congo, lebanon, yemen, etc...
equality and equity
being able to voice your opinions on the government
government transparency
your right to freedom of speech, expression, and press under the constitution
THEN PLEASE HELP STOP KOSA
It's crazy how kosa will affect the entire internet and yet there's barely enough of anyone speaking out about this. If you can raise awareness and spread the word, you should do it to the best of your ability. When the internet is a means of communication for so many people, it's unfair not to take action. I've seen people who thought it was dead just because we stopped talking about it! Don't just reblog posts or whatever, tell those in your actual personal life. Contact your senators and make your opposition known. I know they bring this back every year, and it's tiring, but don't give up now. We need to try all we can to prevent this from passing.
Hello, i'm hoping by making this post i might be able to help quell the fears of others like it helped quell mine.
The ACLU, aka American Civil Liberties Union, are a nonprofit human rights organization that is against KOSA. I will admit i don't know much about them myself but according to my mom, they are very powerful people and the chance they'll let a bill like this pass is incredibly slim.
They've already spoken out against it, as have many, many others who likely have similar if not equal power, not to mention the global outcry against this bill.
Please hold out hope. I'm still scared, but things aren't all bleak.
Guys. What is happening. No one is talking about Kosa.
We have to get it trending. Boost this post
