This is a PSA for anyone that I can reach, be it trans or not.
I don't live in the US, so right this second all I can ask is that you do your best to stay safe. Read through this post and take in the information that you need to be prepared.
Also, know that you are loved, and that you are not undesirable, no matter what your goverment or the media tries to push
I want to say that with trans folk now being at risk of the fucking death sentence in Florida....
The time for community is Now. The time to start planning and organizing how to get our rights back is NOW. bring it up at your local LGBT craft events or book club or support group or whatever. Tell your friends. Spread the word. And maybe see which ones will have the safety and resources you'll need should a Lavender Hunt happen in your area.
And on the scarier end of reality....
This is fucking terrifying. Lots of people are at risk. Personally, I'm terrified this rhetoric will spread much like Trumpism did. I'm scared for my gf and I'm fucking scared for myself because we know historically that it isn't just trans folk on HRT or drag performers that they go after.
And you have every right to do whatever you need to protect yourself.
I'm not going to shame folks who quit HRT, who take the rainbows out of their bio, the people who start saying partner instead of revealing a gender, or anyone else taking a few steps towards the safety that the closet provides. WE shouldn't.

A company called Quantum Fiber (under Century Link) recently set up my home town for fiber optic internet. I got them a month ago and aside from a few outages it was decent.
Last week, it went out. They sent me a super specific time it would be back-
They failed to make it and sent another, minutes later.
And another when that failed.
And over the week, more and more.
I called and they just read me the same email out loud. They offered no escalation or resources. Every time, they fail. I have not had internet for my house in a week, and this morning I got this one-
I looked into other people having the same problem and found this-
That's not something called a "766" line, that's them fucking up my city 766 times. This company is fucking shit, and I'm sick of this. I've filed an FCC complaint but those take a month to even get a reply.
So I'm hoping my 173,365 followers can help make this show of their ineptitude and callousness go viral. Please.
They are in a time of massive expansion into many new states and cities. I am asking anyone so inclined with a few minutes to spare to find your town or state's government information technology office or liaison, or just a local government representative of any kind, and write them a quick note stating that this company destroys town utilities and offers absolute frustrating failures of service in return.
If you have Quantum Fiber and have been similarly failed by them, please file an FCC complaint. You might at least get a free month out of it.
If you work with a news source or popular blog, please boost this however you can.
If you are on any app on which they are present, please feel free to write or tag them and let them know they have failed their customers and cities they work with.
Please do not engage in threats or harassment of any form. Keep this legal, civil, and proper so that it can create a legal basis and record of good citizen interaction on the part of this company's victims. I am asking for help in a grassroots campaign, not a violent or prank-filled heap that just gets people in trouble. AND DO NOT FOR ANY REASON EVER PESTER THE WORKERS, PHONE REPS AND TECHNICIANS THEY HAVE OUT THERE. This is the corporation's fault, not the poor folks they employ who they likely try to make take the backlash.
If you have any other ideas on how to hold a mega-corp responsible for the shit they put their customers through, please comment and recommend. I am sick of this shit. I know there are worse things happening and even worse companies doing horrid things right now. But maybe this one is new/small enough that a viral campaign can kick them where it hurts and get them to act more responsibly to their customers and safely to the places they work.
Please help if you have time. Please spread this in the hopes they see it and get off their butts and fix their horrible shit. Any random reblog or post on any platform might be the one their investors hear of.

I posted this last year, & as another TDoV has come I figured I would share a bit of progress on my personal journey & some thoughts on the state of things for trans rights in my country.
As of this month, I've been on testosterone for a year & a quarter, & while I have experienced some changes I was looking forward to, I am still misgendered daily. I will probably never pass as a transmasculine person, but I'm doing my best to come to terms with that.
A fully positive experience was finally having top surgery at the beginning of February. My healing for that has gone pretty well overall, & the euphoria I get from having a flat chest has been so incredibly validating that I can't adequately put it into words.
That said, I have experienced transphobia going out in public, from occasional customer service workers & other customers in stores, & even from medical professionals during a recent health scare (I am recovering, no worries there).
My home state has a bill on the docket that would ban HRT for minors & prevent anyone from having their birth certificate amended after they are a year old. I have not yet begun the process of changing my gender markers on any of my legal documents, so this would directly affect two of my transition goals.
Similar bills have already passed in several states in the US, & many more are being introduced & discussed in others. The attacks on the civil rights of transgender people in the US are relentless right now, & the fearmongering & moral panic regarding trans people is at an all time high.
We need our cis & het allies now more than ever because we cannot protect our rights on our own. Our voices, though loud, are often drowned out by the opposition, & even those not directly opposed to trans rights aren't taking the situation here as seriously as they should.
Trans people are people, the same as anyone else, & all we want is to live our lives as ourselves & be afforded the same rights & dignity that cis people are afforded without question. As a visibly trans person living in the Bible Belt of the southern US, I am afraid that my very personhood may be stripped away from me soon.
It isn't a nice way to live, & moving somewhere safer isn't an immediate possibility for me. It's not feasible at all for many people. These transphobic bills & laws need to be met with strong opposition, & we need to fight just as hard to have protections for trans civil rights coded into law.
I am doing what I can, & I implore you all to do the same, be you cis or trans. We're all in this together, & we need each other now more than ever. Compassion & hope are what I wish for all my trans siblings on this day, & may our next TDoV find the world a more accepting place.

It's crazy how kosa will affect the entire internet and yet there's barely enough of anyone speaking out about this. If you can raise awareness and spread the word, you should do it to the best of your ability. When the internet is a means of communication for so many people, it's unfair not to take action. I've seen people who thought it was dead just because we stopped talking about it! Don't just reblog posts or whatever, tell those in your actual personal life. Contact your senators and make your opposition known. I know they bring this back every year, and it's tiring, but don't give up now. We need to try all we can to prevent this from passing.
Kosa is the most horrifying thing to think about. Sometimes I want to forget about it but I know that won’t stop it from flying through congress and into law.
Teens will not have ways to learn about what’s happening in the world. Marginalized groups will not have the internet spaces that they do. Mental and sexual health will be censored. Activism will be censored. Everything important that you care about is going to be censored. They do this on purpose, especially to the youth, to keep us uninformed and unrepresented.
I don’t have the words to express how much this scares me. This will impact us all regardless of age, but for now I’m still a minor and it’s even scarier. I have friends younger than me who will have to endure it for longer than I do. I’m completely terrified because we are about to be trapped.
Good news! Kosa isn't being introduced to the senate until March 13-16,
so my American friends, PLEASE for the love of god call your reps and tell them you don't want this shit to pass because this bill is gonna fuck up the internet as we know it and the majority of us that use the internet can't do shit because we're not American

For when the senate specifically will look at the kosa bill and other bills/other stuff, use this Committee Schedule for 02/27/2024 | Congress.gov | Library of Congress link. Kosa was supposed to be deliberated on 27, but there is no schedule with it on, so it was definitely pushed back, though the actual time of when it will be deliberated is so far unknown.
And if someone, who isn't american, can figure this stuff out with a couple of google searches, so can you! So my american friends, please stay informed on this matter.
Maybe it's just me but I don't see how anyone can watch what's going on in the world rn and not contribute or say anything about it. Stop the EARN IT Act
I don't usually make posts but I’m going to try.
The Earn it act was represented to congress on January 1st, 2022. It is introduced as way to crack down crack down on exploitation of children on the internet, particularity in regards to child pornography. The way this is being done is by changing Section 230 of the Communication Decency Act. The actual effect of this are worrying, which is why there has been such a backlash to it.
If passed as it is, the earn it act would:
Make websites responsible for any information that users publish on it.
Seriously undermine internet privacy, as it would allow online communication to be more easily accessed by other parties.
Put vulnerable communities who rely on this privacy at risk (was particularly criticized by sex workers, who already have had to repeal their content from several websites due to censorship)

There’s already alot of protections concerning website and the distributions of child pornography, so this Act will really just continue the trend of making less and less on the internet private
So what can you do?
As of right now, (2-24-2022) The EARN IT Act still hasn't passed. Right now, you can see the list of senators who have cosponsored it, on this website here : https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-bill/3538/cosponsors
If you live in the states, send an email to one of these people. Or a letter. Or a phone call. Obviously some will be more interested in listening than others, but its important to make these points clear to senators. Personally I will be sending this information to Senator Dianne Feinstein of California. If you don't live in the states, tell someone who does! I don’t know how much of difference we can make but it’s important to try.

This is not a goofy, ball pit-flavored post. This is about child labor. We need to not buy anything from nestle until they shut down. Not until they stop child labour, but until they shut down. It would not make up for the child labor if they just stop and apologize. They need to suffer, and pay. And an apology is not enough. Any company that even used it once ever must be shut down for good. Reblog (or do not i don't care) to join this movement. We need to french revolution. I really need to stop thinking, cause every time I do I go into a previously unexplored section of the world building and now I have even more things to worry about. Like just now, I was thinking about how normal people would behave if Lord Valthoraxe actually ruled an entire world. Obviously, mostly paranoia and fear, but there would also be idiots dumb enough to see it as a good thing and create cults worshipping him. Now Valthoraxe is undoubtedly evil, but he always fights fair. Honor is everything to him, and by that logic, he would be extremely offended by cultists murdering defenseless innocents in his name.
He would as first go after them himself, but realize they crave to be killed by “their master” and would need a better solution to the problem. He turns to bounty hunters, who are obviously skeptical at first, but he is willing to give anyone who can prove they’ve killed cult members that worship him one of his many relics that they can choose themselves.
Valthoraxe is one of the heavy sci-fi factions I told you about earlier, and so this created a lot of potential for some very interesting characters. My favorite so far is an autistic, bisexual half-elf named Meloï Dio, who is shunned by her people for her disability, sexuality, and race. (I’ll explain my take on elves in a later weekly update, but tldr, very racist culture) Feeling desperate, hated, and depressed, she successfully hunts down a cultist and reluctantly claims her reward at Lord Valthoraxe’s castle in the Lord’s Wastelands. She is welcomed in personally by Valthoraxe, who is behaving far politer than she expected, and he leads her to a large room full of magical and electrical tools, relics, and weapons.
One particular set of items catch her eye, a pair of boots, fingerless gloves, and headphones dancing with light and a faint rhythmic beat. Valthoraxe explains these are magic conduits basic on music, amplifying the wearers magical capabilities, but only for the duration and to the beat of the of a selected song. She tries on the headphones, and the music immediately makes her feel calm and safe, despite being in the most dangerous place on the planet. She happily takes the musical clothing and thanks Valthoraxe as she leave, his expression not having changed once during the entire encounter.
After a lot of practice and music, she regains her confidence and tries returning back to her Elven home. The Elves however, hate her even more now, calling her a traitor, slut, murderer, and many other thing too terrible to say. They even threaten to kill her if she didn’t leave, and so she did, not with sadness this time, but with new found purpose, and she never looked back.
Hating her Elvish name, she changed it to Melody, and became a bounty hunter full time. She fully embraced the musical aspects of her abilities. She now wears the Magic boots, gloves, and headphones, a pair of dark purple knee-socks, as well as a gray skirt and a lime and cyan crop top. She also dyes her hair the same colour, making it look like the bars of a visualizer. The openness of her clothes made her feel as free physically as the music did mentally, and her new found family of bounty hunters was all she needs now.
I’m not good at drawing humanoids, so feel free to draw this unique character in whatever style you like. Unfortunately this character is not planned to be in any full lengths books I am writing, but perhaps I could write a short story if you guys like her concept enough.
