Always preface gifts/favors/anything they look forward to by saying "does puppy want a treat?"

If they get stammery and flustered, just tell them to speak, it works miracles

When getting into bed or sitting on the couch, pat the bed where you want them to sit and they'll hop right up

Keep them in line by reminding them that puppies don't bite/talk/etc
