Happy STS!
Your story is over. Villains defeated. All loose ends/dangling plot threads are tied up. Happily ever after is achieved. What is the first thing your MC(s) do to relax, chill, and unwind?
Happy Storyteller Saturday! Thank you so much for the Ask, @clairelsonao3!
I'm terribly sorry for the long delay on this one, I was trying to figure out a way to answer this without spoiling too much of the end of my book series. To keep things simple and avoid spoilers, I won't talk about much of the MC's occupations, situations, or roles after they defeat the villains, but rather only their random hobbies!
Your story is over. Villains defeated. All loose ends/dangling plot threads are tied up. Happily ever after is achieved. What is the first thing your MC(s) do to relax, chill, and unwind?
Raelen would definitely spend a while just exploring the woods nearby and just being around nature in general, like she used to do before all the chaos of the book began. She'd likely take Vallerius with her for a romantic picnic trip to a meadow or a hidden forest after the battles are over.
Julyan would just relax. Literally, do nothing. He spent all his life toiling away in low paying jobs to keep him and his siblings alive for another day and then spent almost 2 years trying to escape the Secret Court after he was captured and experimented on. He deserves some time to just be himself and do nothing, just have fun, read a book, and sleep until late. Not having to worry about his powers or anything else. Some time to just be.
Quinn would enjoy his newfound freedom from the Morosyn Empire to dedicate himself to his artistic endeavors, which he couldn't do much before. Now, he'd spend hours just painting and drawing in his room, happy to know there aren't threats to worry about. He'd teach his ward to draw as well too.
Zephyr would take one long trip through the Free Realms to just enjoy the best festivals and historical spots available in their world. He always dreamt of traveling the continent - without being, you know, on the run - and now he gets to.
Tanwin and Darian would spend hours creating new potions together and overall being nerdy cinnamon rolls. When the war was over, Darian has a certain position that allows him access to all alchemist supplies in the kingdom he's in, and he is determined to make the most of this opportunity, as long as his boyfriend gets to have fun too. Tanwin likes making potions - it's a lot of fun - but mostly he's just glad he and Darian can do this together.
Innara takes Helios to one of the traditional festivals of her kingdom, where she and her cousins used to go as kids. Helios has no idea of what is going on but likes the celebration a lot. In normal days, they'd probably spend hours reading together in the Libraries and around her family's castle grounds.
Oryon goes swimming alone without worrying about drowning, for the first time in ages.
And so on!

Find the Word Tag Game!
Thanks for the tag, @stesierra! I have been tagged for this many times before, and always wanted to try it, though at the time most of my WIPs were very early in the drafting process and I couldn't find the right words to fit the game.
Now, I'm going to try to do it! I'll choose excerpts from multiple WIPs of mine to make sure I find all the words.
My words are: Demon, Habit, Erase, and Slaughter.
Demon -
(Snippet extracted from Enchanted Illusions)
Context: After escaping from a group of monster hunters, Evangeline and Clarence - her vampire best friend who was deeply injured in the prior confrontation - are chased into an old cathedral by the leader of the vampires. With no other choice, Evangeline makes one last stand against the hunter, alone, to protect her injured friend.
[...] “It is a demon! A beast unworthy of mercy, an unholy creature of the night which needs to be eradicated from this land. Step out of the way, child, and let this be done.” The leader of the hunters said pragmatically, though she knew he was just being condescending. Evangeline stands her ground against the hunter, even as he steps closer. Behind her a wounded Clarence lay on the ground of the cathedral, keening brokenly as blood flowed down from the gash at his side, a steady red stream making a puddle underneath him. Evangeline knew her friend was losing far too much blood, even for what a vampire could physically handle. They were running out of time.
“He is not a demon, he’s a person. Clarence is just as human as any of us, and he doesn’t deserve this! In the time we’ve spent together he’s only shown me kindness - which is a thousand times more than I can say for you, Barnaby. All you ever did was torture him and try to kill us.”
Thunder crackled on the storm outside, and the so-called holy man glared at the answer, his polite facade fading away just as easily as it’d appeared.
“I’ll only say this one more time, girl. Step away, or I will be forced to treat you as a threat as well.”
Evangeline scoffed, shakily leveling her thin sword at him as she braced herself to defend her friend. “I’m not going anywhere. If you want to hurt him again, you’ll have to get through me. Let’s see how well this ends this time - how’s the eye, hunter?”
Barnaby narrowed his eyes, the fresh scar across the left side of his face crinkling as a reminder of their last confrontation. Fury filled his features, and a disdainful smile came next.
“I see that this demon has corrupted you too. A shame really, you had so much potential.” Barnaby said, reaching for his weapon - a wickedly sharp scimitar forged from the finest silver. Evangeline held back the urge to recoil when she saw the sharp tip glimmering in the candlelight.
And with that, he struck and the fight began. One attacking to destroy and kill, and the other fighting to defend the one she loved. [...]
Habit -
(Snippet extracted from Open Secret Files)
Context: Manipulated by his superiors, Theo Stallard - a young detective - finds himself in a dire situation he never intended to happen, and which will have very bad consequences, for himself, his family, and his friends, as the villains frame him for a crime he did not commit.
[...] “This villain will pay for his crimes,” The government officer said coldly. “We have our methods, he’ll regret ever crossing this line, and will tell us everything about his operation, do not worry, detective.”
Atlas snarled, struggling against the agents holding him back, only to receive a swift punch in the ribs. With a cry, the young man doubles over, coughing. The Director smiles.
Theo winces, concern and doubt growing within him. This is wrong, it isn’t what he worked for.
“The investigation isn’t through yet. You’ve got no right to arrest him without proof, much less to physically harm him.”
Atlas looked up at Theo, shocked. The Director looks to the young detective, answering him with a dangerous smile.
“I will do as I please. Whatever it takes to get this superhuman under control - he is a threat just for existing unchecked, and one I will not allow. He has committed crimes, I just haven’t found physical proof of it, and when I finally do, it’ll be the last nail on his coffin. Vigilantism is a nasty habit, and it will not be tolerated on my watch, as you should know.”
She paused, lowering her voice and leaning closer.
“And I believe I don’t need to remind you that your brother was involved in this case and that your part in the capture of this vigilante is the only reason he hasn’t yet been arrested. You’d want to keep things this way, wouldn’t you, Mr. Stallard?”
Theo grimaced. “This wasn’t the deal. You lied to me, you all did. I was only supposed to retrieve the lost files, you never said anything about arresting someone without a single shred of evidence.” He glares.
“Stop being difficult, detective. We’ve all got prices to pay and you’ve done your part. You’ve got a promising career ahead of you, and I can ensure it stays that way, or not. It all depends on your silence.”
“I won’t let you do this. You won’t get away with it - I’ve read the files. Yeah, I did. And you know what I found? Your entire operation is a farce, a scam to tamper with the limits of human DNA, and for what? To build a perfect soldier. Someone who can control the mutants and superhumans you so despise. This is more than illegal, and I refuse to be a part of it.”
The Director shakes her head, disappointed.
“You do know how to make things difficult, don’t you?”
Before Theo could answer, the Director pulled something that looked like a small pistol from under her jacket and shot. A glass dart lodged itself in his shoulder, and everything went numb. As he fell to his knees, limbs shaking and twisting at the effects of the serum, the Director walked over to him.
“Ah, ah, don’t you fret. This is just a serum, you’ll be asleep in a moment.” She knelt down before him. Theo tried to move his arms and push her away, but his limbs didn’t seem to respond to him, as if weighed down by rocks. The Director reached for the bag behind him, shuffling through its contents until she found what she was looking for - a folder containing the incriminating files. “You did a very good job, my boy. It’s a pity you’ll spend the rest of your life in jail for stealing government property, once the news gets notified of how you went rogue.” She patted his shoulder condescendingly, rehearsing her lie, before a smile crept up on her pink lips “Don’t worry, though, I’ll take good care of your little brother. With his talents, he would be perfect for my tests, don’t you think?”
Theo whimpered indignantly, trying to get up but not moving a muscle, his vision hazy as the woman stood up.
The last thing he saw, as consciousness slipped away, was the outline of an armored car driving away, then it all faded to darkness. [...]
Erase -
(Snippet from Supernova Initiative, funny scene)
Context: Spending some time on the main planet of the Dantraxxi System, the team seeks to relax and lay low after multiple chaotic confrontations with the intergalactic wars. Pax decides to try and fix a very broken race ship for the sake of partaking in a local race, but his trial and error to get the old piece of metal to fly leads to some hilariously chaotic interactions as it crashes onto the station.
Pax clambered out of the fallen racecraft. Behind him, greasy smoke billowed from the motor and he noted that the ship had left deep drag marks on the metal floor, a tell-tale trail from where it’d crashed. Gears stuck together on the engine, creating a high pitched whirring sound before flying in all directions, making Pax jump.
In front of him, just a few feet away, he saw Kailathell holding a tablet with a smug look on her face, narrowing his eyes - and promptly discarding his goggles, darkened with grease and soot - he finally understood why she was chuckling, as the hologram came into view. The footage of his not-so-glorious attempt at flying the makeshift ship was looping on the screen.
“Oh hell no. Erase that! Erase it right now!”
Kai shook her head, laughing.
“Nah, fun-size, this one’s for the scrapbook! It’s too glorious to throw away. I think I’ll call this: moments before the disaster. The future needs to see this.” She spun around playfully when Pax tried to take the tablet from her hands, too easy to avoid. Impatient, the teen was nearly jumping around her, but it only made his friend laugh more.
“Give me that!” He lunged for the tablet, only for Kai to hold it high above her head, making it impossible for his human height to reach.
“Ah, ah, ah…. No you don’t”
Pax jumped a few times, growing impatient with the realization that it was completely out of his reach as the alien girl stood still. Behind her, Pax saw his brother walk by.
“Aw, come on, that’s not fair! Ethean, do something!”
Ethean took one look at the chaotic situation of his brother and their friend and shook his head with a barely restrained laugh as he walked away. “You’re on your own for this one, bro.”
Pax scoffs, turning back to Kai, who still had her arm held high, a smug, victorious grin on her face. Though irritated, Pax can’t keep the laugh out of his voice. “You’re literally impossible when you want to be, you know that, Kai?”
The alien smiles.
“Yes, yes I do. And I am proud of it. You’re not taking this tablet from my hands, ever, baby!” Kai did a little twirl, before pointing the tablet on his direction. When he made a grab for it, she swiftly pulled it back, before he could even touch it.
Pax smiled, challengingly.
“Fine. I’ll just hack into it later anyways.” Kai sticks her tongue out, placing her tablet onto her backpack. “I’d like to see you try, human boy.”
She walks away, and Pax follows her with her eyes. On the background, the other members of the team walk by, and he overhears their conversation, turning around to realize they’d been standing there the whole time.
“You owe me 20 credits.” Cassiopeia says, contemplating the wrecked race ship before them, with her hand extended to Aleks.
“Ugh, fine.” The young mechanic sighs, reaching into his pockets and pulling out a few dirtied Dantraxxian credits. Cassiopeia proudly pockets them as the sputtering of the ship them slowly goes silent.
Pax tilted his head, amused.
“You guys had been betting on me?”
Cassiopeia dismissed him with a flick of her hand.
“Nah, betting against you. Aleks thought that the piece of space junk you claimed to fix would last 10 minutes in the race, I was more realistic. Bet on 5 minutes, guess who won?”
Pax made a face at the young space pirate, which she returned in equal fashion. Beside her, Aleks grinned genuinely, trying to be reassuring.
“You’ll get the hang of it, Pax! When I started fixing ships most of them exploded, so crashing is actually one step ahead.”
For a moment, Pax only blinked, trying to decide if the mechanic had been joking, only to realise his friend was being utterly serious. “That’s so reassuring, thanks.” Pax replied, a deadpan look on his face.
Aleks gave him a thumbs up as he walked away.
“Always here to help.”
Cassiopeia laughed and walked towards Pax. “Come on, let’s get you out of these beat-up clothes and into something presentable. We're going to the city, I know a tremendous ice cream place on this planet, you’ll love it. Plus, we’re just joking. Though the crash was - indeed - the most hilarious thing I ever watched through a camera system, the ship was too beyond repair anyways.”
“Yeah, ice cream sounds amazing! And um, yeah, I kinda should have seen the crash coming when I chose to fly that ship in the first place, so no hard feelings”
He giggled, and Cassie smiled. “Good, let’s go then!” [...]
Slaughter -
(Snippet from The Last Wrath)
Context: Trapped in the royal court of the Capital city of the Morosyn Empire, Luciaya voices her dreams of one day escaping and going home to freedom. Her best friend, Quinn, a royal courtesan, has different thoughts on the concept of freedom in the Empire, and in doing so reveals his tragic past to his deeply worried friend.
“If the plan works and we’re lucky enough, we can go home one day. Wouldn’t that be great?” Luciya said, looking at the purple birds flying freely above the Imperial City’s many spirals.
“What home?” Quinn asked, bitterly leaning over the castle’s marble parapet, eyes fixed on the arena below them, where the festival’s fights had begun. “There’s no home to return to, my friend… At least not for me. Not while they rule over every aspect of our daily lives.” He said, running his fingers pensively over his gold bracelets, gifts from his many patrons.
He looks up at Luciya with a sigh, before staring straight ahead, eyes jaded as he begins his explanation.
“Let me give you some perspective then. A few years ago, I lived in a village in the Arkellyan province of Kyreen. The Morosyn Dynasty had conquered the kingdom's capital more than a decade prior, that’s true, but there were some provinces yet untouched that remained free. Kyreen was one of those places. The Emperor, and his army, would soon change that.” He paused, eyes fixed on the gladiatorial combat below, wincing at the sound of metal against metal.
“My village resisted bravely, and the Emperor - long may he live” He sarcastically spat the last bit, a touch of deep disgust in his mellow voice at the imperial salutation, mocking the voice of the Imperial nobles who said it. “He wanted to make an example out of us. Long story short, the royal army slaughtered my village, and… almost everyone died. A few of us were selected to be sent as slaves to the Empire, to ‘prove the efficiency of his Warlords’ - for outstanding traits. Some were the strongest, or more important, more… beautiful.” He looked at his hands blankly and shook his head.
“And now, here I am. It’s been five years. I haven’t seen a glimpse of the world outside the Imperial City for five years, and I am to entertain a nobility that I despise. A dancer who has no say on whose music he dances to.”
There was venom in his words, eyes aimed sharply at the nobles sitting on the other side of the stadium, who were cheering joyously on the gruesome battles below with gilded garments and fresh wine. Quinn scoffed, turning around and leaning on his elbows, so his back was turned to the unsavory scene before them. He shrugged tiredly, looking up to Luciya, who was now staring at the conflict below with a haunted look.
“So, you see? We’re all trapped here. We’re all slaves - to an arena,” He gestured vaguely with his head to the gladiators fighting below “to our beauty, or our debts. Even to our names and ideals. It doesn’t matter. Really. All the roads lead to that fancypants princeling seating high above everyone in his golden chair, laughing at our blood that pays for it. While that guy is alive, we’ll never truly be free. And we’ll never truly be safe.”
Quinn pushed himself away from the marble parapet, swiping a piece of candy from the pristine table of a soldier beside them. He quirked his head at Luciya, before smoothly walking away. “Food for thought.” [...]

Its Blursday! You hand the OC of your choice $1 million dollars (or the equivalent in your/their world!), what do they spend it on?
Happy Blorbo Blursday! Thank you for the Ask @writernopal!
You hand the OC of your choice $1 million dollars (or the equivalent in your/their world!), what do they spend it on?
Raelen - She'd likely spend at least some of her newfound money on chocolate snacks, but only some of it. Afterward, she'd probably save most of it, and use her money to fund the reconstruction of the Ancient Archives for the Mageborn scrolls.
Azra - He'd pamper his dragon with a saddle made of diamonds and pearls because Mystral (his dragon) likes to look majestic. Then, Azra would probably use the rest of the money to help Kestrall rebuild in the aftermath of the Siege and the wars.
Julyan - That boy would hoard that money with his life, "my precious" (from LOTR) style. Not because he is selfish, but because he is very self-conscious and anxious about money, and probably hasn't seen that amount of money in his wildest dreams. He'd continue living his life as he always had because he'd be scared to spend the money.
Vallerius - Continent-wide trip across Agrannor, here he comes, baby! He'd spend a year traveling across the continent in the finest places it could offer. He'd end up penniless shortly after his trip is done - that boy was born noble and never really learned how to handle money (much less the concept of savings) - but he'd say it was worth it.
Luciya - The most chaotic shopping spree in the world. I'm talking full-on deranged impulse buying. She'd come home with a cart of the weirdest candy known to man, the tackiest clothes in existence, and the most useless dagger set ever - no money, no purse, and no sanity in sight. Of course, she'd also rescue some animals from crooked merchants, but not normal ones, I'm talking about a giant winged serpent from the Scarp and a suspiciously looking Hook-Eye mountain cat from Ergyre, and be like "Hey, Fabian! Meet our new pets! Aren't they the cutest? They bite". Fabian promptly transcends onto the great beyond once he realizes how she spent their money so quickly.
Innara - Buys some of the most dangerous alchemical elixirs and potions in the world, chooses the sharpest gold-plated dagger (just out of spite), and beelines it back to her home kingdom. Once she is there, she bribes the nobility who betrayed her to be by her side, like "Hey, Great-Uncle! I'm back, thought I was dead huh? Maybe stop poisoning my dad by any chance? No? Okay then", and kills the bastard (her corrupt Great Uncle) by blowing him up to smithereens with the potions she brought. Then she gives the rest of the money to the kingdom and enjoys the chance of spending a month as a pampered princess in her own court before she gets bored and goes to find some adventure.
Lukan - Promptly loses it all on a betting game at a shady tavern, gets blackout drunk, passes out, and wakes up at home with zero recollection of how he got there or how he lost the money in the first place. Mourns the loss of his 1M bounty for two seconds before moving on with his life like its just another Tuesday.
Tanwin - Buys books, lots of books, endless books, and locks himself up in his room for a month to read them all, then emerges from the experience with still almost 500.000 gold to spare.
How Tanwin's interaction at the library would likely go: Book Store Clerk: Okay, how many books do you want? Tanwin (dead serious): Yes. Book Store Clerk: But how many? Tanwin (pulls a dagger): Just Yes. Book Store Clerk (filling up boxes and boxes of books immediately): Okay then! (Silently to themselves:) Why did I get this job, should've stayed on the farm, but nooo... Now I got to deal with this fucking guy.
Bryn: STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIES. Strawberry cupcakes, strawberry pies, everything strawberry that 1M can buy. Also, he'd take Cirien on a tour of a florist shop because Cirien likes to see the exotic flowers and carnivorous plants.
Sybil: Would get Morwan to join her in the most unhinged drinking game and tavern crawl in history. Two hours in, they'd be at least halfway through 1M, without even realizing it, because Sybil likes gambling and so does Morwan.
Emryc: Would get a puppy. He wouldn't even buy the puppy, he'd just pick up a random stray dog from the street and use the fact that he is now a millionaire as a bargaining chip to get his friends to let him keep a random - likely magical or cursed - dog in the fortress. And it's not even a cute regular dog either, it's the most mutated, weird, cursed dog-like thing ever. No one is sure it's even really a dog, or a cat, or anything for that matter. Lilo & Stitch style.
(Emryc) "I have 1M gold, I can do whatever I want." (Ansell) "That... dog, has three heads. And I think another head is spawning, oh my gods -" (Emryc) "I know! Isn't he the goodest boy?" (Ansell) "He bit me!" (Emryc) "As he should." (Ansell, walking away) "That's it. Hey, Ellinor, get Yuna, we're moving back to your Dad's place, come on."
Nethen: Would be the most obnoxiously meticulous person ever. He'd awaken his inner accountant, and be proud of it. He'd know exactly how much each coin weighs and costs and how much it is worth in each province of the kingdom. And end up not spending a dime.
Nadinne: Would spend her 1M creating an exact, working replica ship of The Fearless (her aunt's ship which was sunk by pirate Captain Vulfric when Nadinne was a kid), and get a talented crew, so that she can finally sail the seas on her own terms like she always dreamed of.
Happy STS!
Today, I'm asking writers to take two of their OCs from one of their WIPs (two MCs or hero and villain, etc.) and switch them, so they're now playing each other's role in the story and/or life in general. For The Last Wrath, you have quite a few to choose from, so feel free to pick more than one pair! How would they cope? Would they survive/thrive? Would they not last a day?
Happy Storyteller Saturday! Thank you for the Ask, @clairelsonao3
Take two of their OCs from one of your WIPs and switch them, so they're now playing each other's role in the story and/or life in general. How would they cope? Would they survive/thrive? Would they not last a day?
Wow, what a cool Ask! I love it! For the sake of being more challenging to myself and more compelling to those who read this post, I will choose characters who have vastly different life experiences. This will be fun, lol.
The Switches that Wouldn't Work:
Bryn Seperi and Nadinne Ahmirah:
If those two switched places, it would be so chaotic, omg. Nadinne probably wouldn't last a day living Bryn's life, and even if she did, she would probably not make it through with a sane mind. (I mean, he is literally one of the most dangerous mercenaries in the continent, plus, his life is basically a compendium of very brutal traumas from a very young age, and that's bound to screw someone up, even more so if that person is as sweet and innocent as Nadinne). Bryn living Nadinne's life on the other hand, would probably enjoy it a lot, and feel right at home amidst the nobility, though he'd yearn for some kind of fight or challenge to break through the monotony of everyday life in the nobility. (It is worth noting that Bryn was once the son of a powerful and wealthy general from the Borderlands, who was very close to the royal family of the kingdom he once lived in. So, before Bryn lost everything very early on, he did get a taste of a life much similar to the one Nadinne has). His brashness and aggressiveness would likely get him into a fight with someone important and he'd likely be cast out of the noble circles very quickly.
Emryc Thorne and Julyan Ashiren:
NAH DON'T LET THESE TWO SWITCH LIVES, FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING - It would go so horribly wrong so incredibly fast. Emryc is not built for caring for children, in any way, and Julyan can't do a heist to save his life. Emryc would take the siblings with him to a tavern/store and then promptly forget they were with him until two hours later when he goes "OH SHIT - Where those kids at?". Julyan would try to rob someone with a very shitty plan of "How To Heist" and then feel so bad about it that he'd be caught before he even left the person's property, like, he'd trip every possible alarm and make so much noise that he'd be like "Just arrest me already will you? I don't know what I'm doing, and I really don't want to know."
Myrah Faron and Nethen Fahris:
This is what I call: A Disaster Waiting To Happen. Are you kidding me? Myrah has zero comprehension of how to keep her thoughts to herself and will cuss out a noble if they as much look at her the wrong way. Plus, if she saw someone she cared about die the way Elain died in front of Nethen, she'd lose control and it would end up with either everyone around her dead or her being executed next. Likely both. She lacks completely what it takes to be a political manipulator - she's too blunt, wild, and ready to speak her mind in very clear terms should she need to. Meanwhile, Nethen living Myrah's life would likely end just as badly. I mean, what let Myrah survive was her fierceness and lack of restraint, but Nethen is a very calculated guy - he thinks too much before acting, and if he led Myrah's life, that would be his downfall right there. He overthinks too much, and in that situation, that's precisely what he could not afford to do. It wouldn't end well for either of them.
Trystan Grayspear and Helios Maevel:
It would end in chaos. Helios does not know anything about fighting - unless, very vaguely, in self-defense - so he would make for a pretty disastrous knight. Meanwhile, while highly intellectual and book smart, Trystan does not know anything about being an alchemist - he knows the names of every potion and of every component, but ask him to put them together and you get an explosion in your hands. So yeah, chaos ensues if they switched places.
The Switches that Would Work:
Jamie Tellian and Isolde Kierah:
Both are knights-in-training, both have a strong sense of justice and both fight to keep their respective families safe, the only difference is their background (Jamie was a very poor street kid for most of his life before getting the chance to train as a knight while Isolde grew up wealthy and sheltered as the daughter of a Royal Knight of Faravvia), but other than that, their personalities are pretty similar. They would cope very well with switching places.
Darian Caelestis and Innara Renfelli:
Though their personalities are vastly different, their backgrounds are largely similar. Both are noble children who grew up in the midst of conflicts (though different kinds of conflict) and who joined the rebellion by accident while trying to make things right. Plus, Innara is very close to her family (who are everything to her) and Darian largely wants to make his dad proud of him again. Another interesting point - both have a fascination for alchemy and though Innara only buys the potions she needs and Darian always makes his own potions, they're just as nerdy about it.
Eve's weird question time: I wanna fight people. I am bringing Lila the op sorceress and Beatrix, who will probably bite. Which two ocs are you bringing to the fight?
Thank you for the Ask, Eve! (@your-absent-father)
If our OCs were to have a fight, I would absolutely bring Julyan Ashiren and Vallerius Zyndrosar.
Because here's the thing:
Julyan is not only a fire mage, no, he is a literal sun mage (a Sunscryer, in technical Agrannorian terms) - he carries the full power of the sun in his blood at all times, and not in the stereotypical sense of "Oh pretty boy with delicate light powers, how cool is that he controls the light" no no no (though he is very pretty, his powers aren't) - I mean it in the most dangerous, uncontrollable and unpredictable way possible, capable of great destruction if he decides to use his power's full potential. An ancient might older than the lands, coursing through every fiber of his very being, the power of the most vital and ruthless celestial body held at his fingertips. That is dangerous. Incredibly so. He can burn someone to a crisp with a flick of his pinky finger - (he chooses not to, because he is good and kind, and does not want to cause harm to anyone. But still, he has the ability to do so, at any given moment by the end of the books, after he learns to master and control his powers - because in the beginning, it was a very unstable and rocky road to learn.)
NOT ONLY THIS BUT... Julyan's parents were war heroes, which means this boy knows sword fighting and the general use of weaponry like a pro. Also, after his family died, he had to defend himself and his siblings alone, which means he knows some very dangerous street fighting and will beat someone up if they try anything threatening - even without his powers.
As for Vallerius, though he hates his magical affinity and rarely uses it, trying to keep it contained at all times, he is a Nightshaper Mage - which literally means, he holds the power of the night (the moon, the darkness, the stars, the cold, everything) in every way possible. Not only that, but this boy is the son of a Fallen One (for context, Fallen Ones are mages who are already born with dark magic, powers twisted by the corruption of the magic sources their blood is connected to. Literal dark mages by nature, though many are actually good people who choose to try and use their powers for good). This means he is unaffected - to some limited extent - by dark magic and most importantly, though at a great physical cost, he can and will use dark magic for combat purposes should he ever need to (though it does make him hate himself even more than he already does, but that is a whole different issue).
All I can say is, good luck to anyone that tries to threaten or challenge these two!
Welcome back to the eve's weird question time circles. Now with the most weird one. What would your oc make an apology video about?
Thank you for the Ask, @repressed-and-depressed!
What would your oc make an apology video about?
Fabian Anynth: Would make an apology video to his sister for having joined the Morosyn Empire as a Radiant Hunter, and for leaving her behind.
Peregrine Duskeblom: Would make an apology video for making a dreadful mistake that ended up having dire consequences for the Order of Knights that trained him. He'd be entirely honest about it because his mistake literally haunts him.
Kerwin Illythe: Would make a joke apology video kinda boasting the fact that he was the one poisoning his nephew, Maeryn Renfelli, with dark magic, and for taking his place at the Council of Houses. (It would go like: "I am so sorry (*coughs* not really) for poisoning you with dark magic for the past few years, banishing your daughter, and taking your place as Regent. It's not like I'm proud of it, though, now that I think about it, I really am. By the way, ever wonder why your wife died so suddenly all those years ago? That was me, sorry, she was in the way of my glorious rise. Best of luck, nephew!")
Morwan Destrin: Would be convinced by Nadinne Ahmirah to make an apology video for all the people she killed in battle, but would unironically say "You people should've been faster, I'm sorry my axe caught you first"
