Thank you so much @rosesonneptune! I'll answer this for some of the cast of Song of Thorns and Supernova Initiative!

Pastels: Give me three colors that best represent your OC. Now give me three colors that your OC likes best. Is there an overlap?

Renn Atrius:

Colors that best represent Renn: I would say that the colors that best represent him are Dark Red, Off-White, and Charcoal Black to be specific. As for what those colors symbolize in his case: dark red is tied to his vampiric heritage, as it is a color that is evocative of blood and sanguine stuff, as well as symbolizes bravery, anger (revenge), and willpower, it is also the color of his father's sigil/off-white is a color that is tied to symbolism like neutrality and elegance, which are both attributes that fit Renn very well, and is the color his hair starts changing to once he starts training with ancient blood magic/charcoal black a color that is evocative of nocturnal things and the night as a whole, which is also the color of most bats - thus being rather fitting to a vampiric character - charcoal black specifically is also tied to ashes and embers and could potentially symbolize starting anew from the ruins of his past.

His favorite colors: Renn doesn't really care about this, but what could be considered his favorite colors are bright purple, faded gold, and dark red. So there's an overlap with the dark red color!

Kane Mylestrom:

Colors that best represent Kane: Tarnished silver, dark grey, and reddish brown (like copper or rust). As for what those colors symbolize in his case: silver Is a color usually associated with wealth, glamour and focus, which are all things Kane aspires to have (and thus is a reflection of his cocky/arrogant and power-seeking personality); but tarnished silver specifically is tied to the fact that he is essentially living a lie/illusion and slowly losing his true self in the process - and since silver is traditionally considered a mirror to the soul, much like mirrors (which used to be made of silver in olden times), one could say that tarnished silver also reflects his personal feelings of self-loathing and fear of imperfection, which he tries to conceal with his larger-than-life persona and deeds, but ends up falling short of that. Dark grey is tied to the symbolism of seriousness and inflexibility, while reddish brown/rust is a milder variation of the usual red but still holds meanings of bravery, anger, and strength while being more faded and having a similar symbolism to the tarnished silver.

His favorite colors: His favorite colors are dark blue, deep gold, and crimson. There isn't really an overlap, but most of his clothes during his daily life are dark gray.

Elveryn Haven:

Colors that best represent Elveryn: The colors that truly present Elveryn the best so far are pitch black and bright red. He is a character that is trapped in a cycle of grief - as an older brother who believes his younger brother was killed by vampires and who blames himself for it - anger, and revenge against all creatures he considers "monsters", so pitch black (the color of sorrow, grief, nighttime, and also tied to vengeance) and bright red (a color tied to wrath, mercilessness/ruthlessness and strength of will), as well as revenge) fit him well. And since he hunts vampires, it is fitting/kind of ironic that his most characteristic colors are also a palette that is typically connected to vampiric beings. It was tough to me to think of a third color that fit him quite as well, but eventually settled on dark lilac, like the flower Wolfsbane. The wolfsbane flower is tied to symbolism such as misanthropy (dislike of others, which is a pretty strong trait of Elveryn), danger (Elveryn is a very dangerous and often ruthless hunter, even to his own detriment), and has a strong tie to folklore. Plus Wolfsbane is poisonous, so one could draw a link to the saying that revenge is "like drinking poison and expecting someone else to die", which fits Elveryn's rage arc quite well.

His favorite colors: His favorite colors are olive green, light blue and dark purple. A bit of an overlap/similarity between dark purple and dark lilac, but not really lmao.

Deimos Soll:

Colors that best represent Deimos: Those colors would be blue (both dark blue like deep space and light blue, like his skin), neon pink, and black. As for what they symbolize in his case: blue is a color tied to the symbolism of freedom (which is something Deimos actively pursues and desperately wants), loyalty (despite his tendencies to over practicality and a silver tongue, he is deeply loyal to the few true friends he has) and sorrow (which could be tied to his past - during which he ended up tortured by a mad general who wanted him to join her army as her brainwashed servant - and current traumas), it is also a color tied to meanings of sincerity, efficiency, coldness, tranquility and trust, all attributes fitting of this character. In the case of neon pink, it is a futuristic color but is also the same color as the serums and poisons he was injected with during that general's attempts to turn him into a super soldier. Black is the color of revenge, efficiency, introvertedness, and power, traits Deimos has throughout his arc - it is also tied to meanings of mystery and secrets.

His favorite colors: His favorite colors are pastel purple, light grey, and turquoise.

Vesper Foxx:

Colors that best represent her: Those colors are bright green, neon blue, and pitch black. Bright green is often connected to the symbolism of poisons/illness, radiation, and envy - which one could draw a connection to her vengeful tendencies and extremely deadly nature that leaves no surviving enemies in her wake. Pitch Black for the same reasons as Elveryn (the color of sorrow, grief, anger, nighttime and also revenge). Neon blue mostly because she is a cyborg that is more machine than human and it generally fits her vibe lmao!

Her favorite colors: She has no favorite colors🙃 . (Actually, Vesper will never admit it because she has a "bloodthirsty assassin" reputation to upkeep but her favorite color is secretly pastel pink)

Eraser: what's one way this character has changed over time? Either over the course of their story, or over the course of designing them as an author.

There are a few characters that changed quite a lot during the time I was developing the story and creating the character arcs (as in they were originally supposed to be a certain type of character but eventually ended up as a very different one).

Jack Tithus: He didn't change that much, but his name did. Originally his name was supposed to be Jesse, but since I have another MC (from Mutant Inquiries) named Jesse, I decided to change that name. That's when I came up with his new name [redacted because it's a spoiler] which is Jack for short. It was a great change and also works for the plot since there's a reason why his name is a secret and why he only uses his nickname.

Vesper Foxx: This is the character that changed the most throughout the development of the story! Originally, Vesper was a character much similar to Pax Stellaryn currently - a young cadet/spy with a good heart and a spirit of adventure. However, I felt that something was missing from this character, and decided to scrap her original concept completely and create a whole new character from scratch. So, after a bit of workshopping, Vesper became the ruthless cyborg assassin searching for revenge that we now know her to be!

Many characters from this book remained the same from the first concept to the first draft, but there is one that did change quite a bit during the process of development: Elveryn Haven. Originally he wasn't going to be a monster hunter seeking revenge on vampires, but a vampire prince seeking revenge on humans (in both concepts he lost a sibling in a tragic way and wants revenge). However, since I've already got quite a few vampiric characters in the main cast, I considered that a reverse POV - from the perspective of a hunter, who would be the nemesis of the cast - and would create both an interesting moral dilemma but also a good opportunity for a Redemption Arc for Elveryn.

Artemis Zreeth - "That person would be my Dad. The best bounty hunter in the known galaxy, he was always my childhood hero. I didn't know my mother, so it was always just me and him until his old crew screwed him over after a mission - they took the money and killed him. Bunch of cowards."

Aleks Keldora - "Oh, my moms for sure! They're the best - witty, funny, no-nonsense and with quite possibly the best cooking and advice in the galaxy. I love them both dearly and can't wait to spend some time back home!"

Pax Stellaryn - "My adoptive family, no doubt about it. They gave me another chance when most would've left me behind and provided me with a life of opportunities I'd never have dreamed of. I only wish to be able to make them proud and make all their love and support worthwhile!"

Ethean Mirannir - "My parents, and my younger brother, Pax. Family's the most important thing in this life, more important than duty and anything else, and that's one lesson I take to heart."

Thank you so much for the Ask, @zackprincebooks!!! I'll answer for some of my OCs from a few of my WIPs for this one!

(Supernova Initiative)

Jack and Cassiopeia Tithus - Jack shares a room with his sister, Cassiopeia, in their spaceship (there isn't much space for multiple bedrooms on a non-cargo class spaceship, so they simply share one). The room itself is personalized to their tastes, with decorations such as posters from their favorite movies and bands, string lights, and a few old plushies from their childhood which they still kept. There is a bunk bed in one of the corners of the room - Jack's bed is the top bunk and Cassie's bed is the bottom bunk. He prefers the colors bright purple and orange for pillows and bedsheets, while most of Cassie's pillows are some shade of pastel, especially blue and yellow. The room is a bit messy, mostly because neither of them has the patience to constantly make it neat. The room has a bulletproof stargazing roof. There is a built-in wardrobe in the opposite corner of the room, which spins and doubles as a writing table, and there are also a few small storage boxes around the room.

Deimos Soll - Deimos' room is cold and plain. He doesn't bother much with decorations and feels overwhelmed when in a cluttered space. His room is small and built for functionality - there is a bed with perfectly aligned bedsheets (in the colors white, light grey, and a very very faint lilac), built into the wall of the room (the bed can also fully close into a small pod and has a holographic tablet built into its metallic "roof" which Deimos uses to make his to-do lists for the day, do research and watch movies). There is a small closet in one of the corners of the room, where he stores his clothes, armor, and weapons (mainly his knives, guns, and his favorite sniper rifle). He keeps his video game console in a box under his bed. The room also has an automatic perfume dispenser (his preferred scent for the room is lavender). This room had been converted into a storage space a few years prior when he left the crew, but now that he has returned to the group his room is back to the way it was.

Gabi Ophirya - Her room - in the dwarf planet she lives in for most of the story - has a strong futuristic aesthetic, with most of its decorations in shades of dark pink and purple and metallic colors. There are neon lights built into the room, which give the place a dark lighting that Gabi prefers. The room is very messy, with clothes and gadgets thrown around randomly, and the bedsheets tangled chaotically. She keeps most of her stuff in storage boxes or small containers around the room, which have wheels and can be stacked on top of each other. As a brawler, she has an extra first aid kit always at hand in the room, and always keeps her gauntlets in top shape - she has a desk for repairs beside the bed. On that same desk, there is a picture of her and her sister, Morgan. She also has a bed for her wolf somewhere between the desk and her own bed.

(Enchanted Illusions)

Augustus Grimmure - As a necromancer, his room is also his magical laboratory and study room. His room is located in the basement of an old wooden building in the center of the city of Ansburke. The room has an old wardrobe, where he keeps his clothes and a satchel ready for travel in case he needs to make a quick escape. On one side of the room is his bed, which has white linen bedsheets, a thick dark red blanket, and two pillows. On the other side of the room is an ornate wooden desk, which has multiple pieces of scribbled parchment (and a study on human anatomy) scattered on top of it, an inkwell, and a few quills as well as fountain pens and a few sketchbooks. There are wooden shelves on the wall on the desk's side of the room - on the shelves there are multiple books/scrolls, a heavy necromancy tome, jars with leeches, and bone samples from animals, mainly skulls. On the corner of one of the shelves, there is a flower pot with forget-me-nots and wolfsbane and another flower pot with a carnivorous plant. He also has a few jars with dried-out herbs and botany samples. On the other side of the room, a door leads to the other living quarters of his house, mainly a kitchen, a small bathroom, and a reading room. There is a portrait of his grandmother on his desk, close to a portable lamp.

Sam Delaways - Sam rents a room in a lodging house in the slums of Strystead, where he lives with his two younger brothers, Charlie and Tim. The room is small and rather cramped, with only two - very old - beds, there is a compact, dusty wardrobe where they keep what belongings they have and a rickety desk on the wall opposite the door. They have managed to make the room feel homey and comfortable to the best of their budget, and it looks happily lived in. There is an old music box on the desk, colorful drawings on scattered parchment around the floor of the room, and old blankets piled on top of the beds, Charlie and Tim's side of the room also has their plushies and toys, which are second hand but very loved. There is an old chair next to the desk that Sam usually places in front of the door at night for a bit more safety because he doesn't trust his neighbors or the landlords quite a lot.

Evangeline Daemitya - Evie has a large room in her family manor, with an ornate canopy bed in the middle of the room, in shades of pastel blue, gold, and pastel pink. There is a vast (stark white and gold) walk-in wardrobe on one side of the room, where her gowns, dresses, and all items of clothing are kept. Across the other side of the room, there is a balcony, which can be accessed or closed by two stained glass doors. There is a small vanity desk beside her bed, with a medium-sized mirror and a ballerina music box. Across the room, there is a door that leads to her reading and study space, a small room where she keeps her books, tomes, and scrolls, which has a spiral staircase that leads to her drawing and painting room, and a small window that overlooks the orchard. Finally, there is a painting of Evie and her father on the wall close to the bed.

Kane Mylestrom - Kane's room is practical but also beautiful. Located in the towers of the Order of Storm's Keep, the room is built on cobblestone in the shade of dark grey. There is a medium canopy bed in the middle of the room, with sheets and pillows in the colors of dark red and faded gold, with olive green embroidery. The wood of the bed is oak. There is a sword rack on the other side of the room. Close to it there is a stern wooden wardrobe where Kane keeps his armor and shield, alongside a few amulets. On another wardrobe in the other side of the room, he keeps his clothes and books. On one wall there is a simple balcony with ornate wooden doors that overlooks the grounds below and on the wall opposite to it there is a fireplace. There are a few tapestries on the walls, which have intricate symbols and designs, mostly in the shapes of dragons and storms.

Cyriel and Dimya Staryn - The twins have a simple room in the mercenary-owned building where they spend most of their time. The room is simple, built for practicality, but also homey and messy. There are two beds each on one side of the room, and a small fireplace between them. Each bed has a small wardrobe on the wall in front of it, with each wardrobe belonging to one of the twins. The colors of the room are simple and folkish, with a few differences between each twin's side of the room. Cyriel prefers copper and green tones and keeps her bow and arrow underneath her bed, while Dimya prefers dark blue and white tones for his side of the room and keeps a lute under his bed. The room has stone walls and Dimya's side of the room has a window with a few wilted flower pots.

Renn - "I don't know. Maybe a romantic evening in the forest, with a candlelit dinner set on a table amidst a beautiful meadow. Or a fun-filled night at a tavern with good songs being sung by the bards and a feast worthy of kings!"

Tarrant - "I'm not... a very romantic person. I've never had a chance to really interact with someone whose feelings for me were genuine - people around me are usually targets or enemies. This made me have severe trust issues towards people who get too touchy-feely - it's usually not a great sign. However, I guess that a nice evening out in town, followed by a quiet picnic would be very nice though."

Cadenza - "Oh, definitely a peaceful walk through the orchards - preferably in spring when the fruit blossoms are in bloom and the forests are lit by multicolored stones. After that, maybe doing some puzzle-solving or participating in a local fair would be really fun!"

Jack - "I would take my date to the best restaurant I know, and then we would have a trip around the most exciting and fun places in town. Afterward, we could get into my spaceship and go stargazing or simply just fly around! I've never dated anyone before, but I think this would be the best date idea - or at least it's the best idea I've had so far, haha."

Deimos - "I'm not sure I would even know where to begin. I've had a few experiences with dating before, they weren't the best, weren't the worst. I think that if I ever fell in love with someone enough to plan a date myself, I think that something simple but heartfelt would be the way to go."

Renn - "Hmm. (chuckles) I guess it depends on the secret. I would die to protect a secret if it was really important but if it was a silly or funny secret with potential for gossip I would tell everyone. There's no in-between, haha."

Tarrant - "Yes, I can. First of all, it's my job as a Silver Snake - political manipulation, deceit, seduction, etc. Secrets are basically my trade. Second, I live in a very dangerous city, and knowing how to keep a secret is basically one of the few things that keep someone safe there."

Cadenza - "I think so. At least I hope so. I try my best to be a good confidante to my friends and never tell anyone's secrets unless they tell me to. I might be a bad liar, so if I have to lie to hide a secret it wouldn't go so well, but I would do my best to not tell the secret."

Jack - "Yes, I'm great at keeping secrets. Being a thief often means you can't go around trusting everyone, and some secrecy comes with the territory. Plus, there are things I don't want to burden my friends and family with, so I keep the secret to myself so they don't have to struggle with it too. For example, nobody on my crew - especially not my sister - knows about the experimentations the Director has been doing to me - it would hurt them dearly to find out, and I don't want that to happen at all."

Deimos - "It depends. What's in it for me?"

3. What is one thing that makes your blood boil?

Renn - "Bigotry and prejudice - especially when coming from humans who consider vampires as aberrations and dehumanize us as if we weren't people who felt pain or had dreams of our own. I also cannot stand cruelty and people who think they're better than others just because they have a certain amount of money or a specific station."

Tarrant - "I despise people who treat others like garbage just because they can, or when people think they're entitled to anything they want. Another thing that I hate is people who just want to use me or are generally creepy to me. It makes me uncomfortable and I hate it because there's nothing I can do against it as long as my contract binds me to my employer."

Cadenza - "People who spread rumors about others. Especially when it means they can gain something from it. Time and time again I've met people who absolutely destroyed another's life with their gossip just because they were jealous of that person. I also can't stand fake people or when someone is trying to be overly mocking or sarcastic. It makes my skin crawl and I want to hit them in the face."

Jack - "One of the things I hate the most in this whole world is oppressive governments who think they can take away the freedom and lives of innocent people just to achieve their goals. Fuck that. I also hate when people try to control or manipulate me - it's just the same feeling but on a smaller scale."

Deimos - "What makes my blood boil is people who are cowards or whose word means nothing to them. And people who think torture and brainwashing are okay just because they justify it in the name of "progress" - I've had my fair share of encounters with a specific someone like that. Never again."

GLASS

Agent Kartheiser stays where she is. She leans on the rail that runs the length of the glass-walled corridor and stares out over the city. As I walk away, I’m sure I hear her sigh.

TEETH

Vee pulls a chair over and sits opposite me. “You look fucked, baby girl.” “Rough night. Sweet haul though. Got some bonus cargo.” “How come?” She hooks the top off a beer bottle with her teeth for herself and throws me an energy drink from the mini fridge under her desk.

RED

When I walk past the uniforms, one of them shouts something at me about what am I doing after work and his friend laughs like puke hitting the floor. I’m not getting into any fights on Taf’s time, so I tune out his bullshit and meet a stocky, red-faced woman at the exit.

SKY

So we sit side by side, staring at the cell array on the table, saying nothing and trying to solve the unsolvable problem as the sky outside darkens and the glow of streetlights turns the windows a cold green-blue.
