Author's note: i was supposed to publish this one the day they left Korea, but i got busy, I'm glad i can post it, hope they will enjoy, and i played this song while writing, hopefully you'll get the vibe when you listen and read~ and i just wanted to share that shà shà means falling rain in and Yueling means moonlight in Chinese, these names are so pretty~ anyway happy reading~

[11:35 am]

You were working, you had a meeting in few minutes, your colleagues, were setting up all the documents. You stared at your phone, for some unknown reason, you were waiting for a text from Minghao, it was 2 days ago he last contacted you, both of you were excited to since he will be coming home, after years. You couldn’t wait to know when he will be coming back, since he didn’t mention anything about his flight details, you wanted to ask Junhui or Mingyu or Dokyeom but you decided not to because Minghao will inform you anyway, you deiced to wait for his text.

“shà shà” you looked at your friend Yueling, she was looking at you with a smile.

“Yes?”

“Are you ready for the meeting, we need to go in 15 minutes.” you nodded.

“Are you waiting for him to text?” you nodded, “He didn’t text me, it’s fine, he must be busy, since he would be coming here soon, I really understand that” you couldn’t just tell your bestfriend that you were missing him so badly, and couldn’t wait to see him. It was 3 years ago, you last saw him and everyday you miss him just more and now since he is coming you couldn’t wait to meet him, you even decided to go to the airport to give him a surprise, but he didn’t mention anything, ‘when are you coming?’ that text was left unseen in your WeChat. You sighed and tried to smile.

Yueling was smiling, as if she wanted to tell you something, you were curious. “why are you smiling like this?” you couldn’t help but to ask her and she was still smiling like a fool? “will you tell me Yueling?”

“You need to wait.” She was still smiling.

“let’s go, take your documents and go attend the meeting and we will have lunch after that.” you nodded and looked at her, you took the documents and went to the meeting room with her.

You went to the elevator, you got in with Yueling, you decided to ask her again, “Yueling, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing, after meeting, eat well who knows when will you get to eat next after lunch” she was behaving weird now. You couldn’t understand a single thing, you just couldn’t; you eyed her strangely. “what do you mean?”

“nothing”

You got off the elevator and went towards the meeting room with her. You went to the meeting, soon your meeting started, you were trying to pay attention to the meeting, since it is important. After your department head completed, you had to present something, you did well with it. After your presentation, you were looking at everyone, talking about the project but there you were, your mind was stuck with particular someone, he wasn’t leaving your mind. You were peaking at your phone’s wallpaper just as an excuse to check the time, although you were wearing a wristwatch.

After good one and half an hour, your department head wrapped up the meeting, you were really thankful to god, you had no energy to sit there anymore.

You came out of the meeting room totally exhausted, meetings before lunch are always exhausting, if luck isn’t in your favor, then half of the lunch time is spent in meetings.

“Yueling, I am hungry. I can’t wait for lunch time.” She nodded and smiled sweetly at you.  

Both of you started working again, you had to arrange a lot of things for the project you got, you needed to sort things out before you leave today. You looked at your phone again, to check the time, it was 1:20pm already, you had 10 minutes more for break. You were just staring at your lockscreen, it was Minghao’s picture, he was kissing your cheeks and you had the biggest smile on your face. It was taken 3 years ago, when you went on a trip with him.

Meeting him was just a mere coincident, you never ever thought you would be his girlfriend, and you would fall in love with him like this, earlier you had no idea he was an idol but later, when you saw him performing on stage that’s when you got to know, before knowing he was an idol, you thought he was just a normal guy who loved reading; whom you met when you went to solo trip, to a different city after your graduation. It was totally a coincidence meeting him on flight, he was sitting beside you, both of you stayed in the same hotel, that was a coincidence too, who would know both of you would start talking, be friends, go around the same city, have fun together, get in touch. You never regretted those 2 weeks with him, you would tell him your silly things, your late-night conversations. You just loved it, you just didn’t realize you already caught feelings for him until you parted your ways after 2 weeks from airport.

You felt safe, happy, comfort with him, little did you know, both of you were from same city but the distance between both of your places was 1 hour; how much you wanted to meet him after that. He informed you, he lives in Seoul, and soon he will go back and you remember insisting on him to meet you before he leaves, that was on your birthday, he didn’t know, until you shared a moment stating it’s your birthday in the morning. You met him, in evening, on your birthday. It was your best birthday ever, you spend your evening with him, you confessed him, about what you felt. He said he will tell you on the day he leaves, that evening, was best evening of your life, you felt happy, and you were also ready if he rejects your confession and decides to stay as your friend, you wouldn’t want to lose a friend like him.  

You couldn’t go to drop him off the airport, the day he left but you met him before that, you went to meet him before he leaves for airport and he confessed you, he told you he wanted to be sure about his feelings and not hurt you. You were happy, after 2 years he came back to China, for few days, that was 3 years ago from present day; coincidently you saw him as a judge in “Youth With You” when Yueling showed him, she wanted to watch this reality show, you were busy and never watched survival shows, at first you couldn't believe it’s him then when you tried searching about him, it was really him, Xu Minghao. At first you refused to believe, and waited for him to be free and meet you. He asked you for a date, you went to the river side date, late night. You were scared at first, whether you should ask him or not and why he never told you about this. You wanted to ask him, but before you could, he told you who he is. After his confession, he told you everything and why he couldn't tell you at first because being with an idol, and a long distance relationship, it’s hard because you don’t know when you will meet and when you will fall out of love, yet both of you wanted to give it a try because of mutual feelings. That night, you shared your first kiss under the sky full of stars.

You always tried to be careful with him, from that day only, only Yueling knew about both of you and his members. You met Junhui, because Minghao insisted, and you remember how once you and Minghao were on date, and Dokyeom and Mingyu called him and asked about you, that’s how you came to know about them too. For once you went to their concert but couldn't meet Minghao because of tight schedule and you were crying very badly, he could just hear your sobs through the call.

The memories were still fresh, it was very obvious you were missing him and were excited for him to comeback but there was no text from him.

Someone shook your shoulders, you looked at the person, it was Yueling, “What are you thinking? I already called you like for 10 times, where are you lost?”

“You called me?” you were confused, were you thinking about him too deeply? Was it that obvious? “I did, and it’s already time for lunch, look at the time, it’s 1:35 pm. Let’s go” she held your wrist and dragged you, you managed to take your phone.

“Yueling, slow down and why are you so excited since morning?? Will you tell me?” you were curious since morning, the way she was behaving. You reached the cafeteria and as usual both of you decided to sit in the corner.

Before you could start eating using the spoon you were holding, Yueling stopped you. “Look at this” and there was a video of two boys in airport, it took you a second to recognize who they were, you were in shock, it was Minghao and Junhui. You were in the state of shock unable to say a single thing, he didn’t even say you anything yet, you looked at your phone again, no texts and no call from him, why would he not tell you anything, are you supposed to find out like this?

“When did you see this Yueling and why are you telling me this?” you just don’t know you were just too happy that he is coming today or sad that he didn’t tell you anything. “This is from Incheon Airport, they arrived there around 11:30 am because this was released at 11:30 am. I think they already boarded, what if he is trying to surprise you shà shà?”

“Yueling, he should know I will find out eventually, he is an idol Yueling, why would he…… do this?”

“You think too much, you miss him this much that you just can’t wait to see him, so after work just go to airport to surprise him, okay?” you definitely wanted to go to airport and see him, surprise him, you just wanted to be with him. “How will I know when he will arrive Yueling? I want to go and see him. I miss him so much”

“Ask his friends? Maybe? they can give you his flight details.” You unlocked you phone and searched for mingyu’s contact, you remember he gave you his contact back that day. You opened his dm, you saw you exchanged texts with eachother 3 days ago, he told you that there would be a surprise soon, for you and next day it was announced that Minghao and Junhui would be coming home; you wrote ‘mingyu, can I get the flight details of minghao? He didn’t mention me anything and I want to go to airport, can you help me mingyu?’ you were fiddling with your fingers now, unsure to send it or not, you wanted Mingyu’s help but were way too embarrassed to ask him something like this, even you don’t know why. Before you could do anything, Yueling snatched your phone and sent the text.

“YUELING! WHAT DID YOU DO?” you screamed so loud, all the eyes were on you now, the whole cafeteria was looking at you with a very obvious look ‘stare’ you bowed down and said sorry to them.

“something you couldn’t do” Yueling was so bold and here you were way too dumb to react and think straight because this involves Minghao, the boy who makes you go dumb.

Your phone vibrated, you received a text from mingyu, ‘he didn’t tell you anything? I'm not supposed to say, what if he planned something but I’ think they will be reaching Qingdao by 3:35 pm kst probably and then he will go home, I don’t know how much time he will take to reach Anshan, so that would be your work to find out, hopefully I could help you; he missed you a lot shà shà, go give him a surprise, he would be so happy and would be fully red.’ A smile crept your face, you forgot for a second that your bestfriend is sitting infront of you and you are at your workplace. You sent ‘thankyou so much mingyu’ as a response.

“you look totally whipped for him” you heard Yueling say. You would lie, if you denied her words, you were so in love with him and you couldn’t wait for him to come; so, you just smiled at her as a response

“Now eat, you need to go to airport after work today.” You nodded and something hit your mind, you remember Minghao once mentioning you how he will go to Anshan, from Qingdao. You looked at the time, it was 2:00 pm here, and after calculating, you realized he will land on Qingdao by 2:30 pm and then he would probably reach Anshan by 8:00 pm or 8:30 pm. You had a whole set plan to meet him.

“Will you eat shà shà ? You still need to complete today’s work and we have few minutes left for lunch.” Yueling was reminding you again and again but here you were busy thinking about him. you nodded and started eating, you just couldn’t stop playing scenarios on your mind, about meeting him and hugging him tight then and there.

After finishing lunch, you were trying to complete the dies of today and wanted to leave early, you usually leave by 7pm or 7:30 pm on Friday because you get meetings and briefing sessions but today you had to complete your work by 5:00 pm or 5:30pm, because you didn’t know when Minghao would be reaching Anshan and you didn’t want to be late, even if it means 3 to 4 hours of waiting in airport for him.

You didn’t realize how time passed, so fast. You looked at your watch and it was 4pm already. Your excitement was just high, you had no idea, how to control yourself, clock ticking off and your excitement getting higher every minute. You went to your head’s chamber; fully prepared to tell him, you need to leave today by 5:00 pm. You went to your department head’s chamber, it was written Wang Lei, you took a deep breath, your head is very kind yet you were nervous because you have no idea how to tell him if he asks you the reason you’re leaving early. You took a deep breath and knocked.

“come in”

You heard him say and went inside, you saw his fingers on keyboard, typing something and really fast.

“Sir”

“oh, shà shà? What’s wrong?”

“Sir, I need to go home early, today by 5pm or 5:30pm, is it possible for me?”

“Is it something important? Because you are really not the type to take leave like this?”

“Umm, yes sir, it’s important, actually very important and I completed all the things I had to do today, and meeting’s done in the first half so is it possible for me to take a leave early today?”

He looked up at you, “If you say it’s important, then it must be, you can leave early today since you’re done. Be safe while going home.”

“Really sir?!”

“yes you can go home, you can leave now too, it’s already 4pm”

“No, sir I will leave at 5pm only. Thankyou so much sir!!”

“You look so happy, I feel something good will happen tonight” and he smiled, you almost thought he can sense something but didn’t ask since it’s your personal reasons.

“Thankyou again sir” and you left his chamber, once you got out, you had no idea how happy you were. You went to Yueling, you couldn't help but to go and hug her tight. “I got the permission to leave early!!”

“Congratulations shà shà, you deserve it, you always work so hard and your performance is also just perfect so, you deserve it. Just one more hour and you will go home, get ready.” You smiled at your bestfriend’s words and went back to your seat; you completed your leftover work.

You couldn’t wait till the clock strikes 5pm, you started arranging the last documents, reviewing them for the last time.

[5pm]

You looked at your wristwatch for the nth time, unable to wait anymore. You saw clock hit 5pm and you turned off the computer, and arranged your things and picked up your bag. Ready to leave, your coworkers saw you, you smiled at them, you went to Yueling; “I'm leaving, get home safe, bye”

“Have fun and tell him how much you missed him, drive safely, okay?” you nodded, hugged your bestfriend and left. You didn’t forget to inform your department head and went out of your office building. You went to your car and started driving back to your house.

After you got home, you took a shower and changed into your comfy clothes, soon you went to your night stand near your bed, you wanted to wrap up the gift you brought for Minghao yesterday, you wanted to give him something, once he returns.

You didn’t realize how the clock hit, 6:30 pm, you looked at the time and got ready, you had no idea how much time it will take for him to reach airport, you were prepared to wait for him. you went to pick up your outfit, you decided to wear black top, black skirt and a black coat, you just love black and your 70% wardrobe is black. Your fixed your bangs, let your hair down and applied very light makeup and peach lip tint. You looked at the mirror for the last time and grabbed your car keys, kept the gift box inside your sling bag and phone.

After locking up your apartment, you went down to drive your car, while driving, all you had in your mind was Minghao, you couldn’t believe he is really coming today and you will meet him. meeting him after 3 years, you still can’t believe it because it’s been so long you met him in person. You remember that time when both of you confessed and your told him it’s going to be difficult but you trust him a lot so they can make it work, he even told you how busy he will be and he doesn’t want to hurt you, he told you he can’t be a normal boyfriend who would at least talk to his girlfriend at least once a day either by a single text or call. You assured him with your everything, and everything between you and minghao was normal, even if he didn’t text you made sure to text him at least once a day telling him to take care of himself, sometimes you would call him when you missed him a lot. He would be very patience to you, always listen to you whenever you had bad days, he was always worried that he won’t be able to comfort you when you will cry and be a very bad boyfriend but he is one of the best boyfriend ever, his words always gave you comfort, he is doing his best. Looking back at those days, how much you wanted to be in arms and would end up hugging him for a long time, and he would always tell you, he can’t give you hugs anytime. But you accepted everything, you just love him a lot so that you can’t lose him.

You were reminiscing all your memories, and you realized you reached airport, you parked your car and went out of the car. You took a deep breath before entering the airport. You were nervous, excited, happy and many emotions running inside you, you still couldn’t think straight, how you will behave sanely infront of him. you looked at your watch, it was 7:40 pm already, you took a seat and were looking at the flight schedule, you didn’t from where he will take the flight. You plugged in your airpods and played songs while waiting for him, you were looking at people trying not to miss him. you were looking at your wristwatch every 20 to 25 minutes.

You took off your airpods and kept it inside your airpod and focused on people again, something in your was telling you he will be here anytime soon, you looked at your watch it was 8:50 pm. You then noticed a boy dressed in black with white undershirt and he was wearing glasses, talking on phone and wearing a black mask, you saw he hung up and kept the phone inside his pocket, you got up, you walked towards him, somehow sure he was minghao, you just were sure, your heart was sure.

you started running, you don’t care what they do, you just wanted to be with him, you just wanted to be in his arms. He was walking towards you and you just went and hugged him there. He froze, you closed your eyes, you inhaled his scent, it was him, it was Minghao. You could feel his heartbeat, you hugged him tight, you didn’t want to let go, both of you were standing there, as if time stopped, you wanted everything to stop right now. You missed him like crazy, now that he is here, it feels like a dream, your tears were threatening to fall, you wanted to hear his voice call your name, you missed him so much.

“Shà shà?”

“I missed you” as soon as you said, your tears started falling, his voice, his scent, him, you missed him so much, he hugged you back, embracing you in his arms totally, he was caressing your hair, slowly, it made you cry more, everything you felt till now, you can finally tell him.

He pulled you apart, and wiped your tears, “how did you know?”

“my boyfriend will come and he won’t inform me doesn’t mean I can’t meet him. Why didn’t you tell me?” you hit him on his chest lightly, you were mad at him, still didn’t change the fact you missed him more.

“I was thinking to give you a surprise shà shà, but looks like you gave me a surprise instead” he smiled, his smiles and make everything better, his smiles are your healings, ever since you met.

“Do you know how much I missed you, you really wanted to be a bad boyfriend to me so bad, you just didn’t inform me, go away”

“shà shà I just came back, is this a ways you welcome your boyfriend? Fine, I am leaving then” he was really about to leave, you grabbed his arm,

“Minghao, I was joking, okay? I missed you really” your tears started falling, again.

“Awwww don’t cry my love, I am back now. I missed you too” he pulled you in a hug again, you really looked crybae, you couldn't help, “Minghao”

“umm?”

“I love you”

“I love you too” he lifted your chin and kissed you sweetly, that held all the longing and all the emotions that he missed

“more than myself” he said and kissed you again.

Time waits for no one. The past year had gone by in a flash and now, we’re nearing its last quarter. With time slipping through our fingertips, we try to save as many of these fleeting moments in whichever way we can. We keep them bookmarked in photographs or inked onto paper through writing. Yet, even when we try our best, we could never encapsulate the entirety of its beauty. Still, we hope that what we have captured would suffice.

It’s been a few months I left that wretched place but I am kind of feeling empty. Why I don’t even know. That damn place took away the most precious thing from me. I am never going back there. I went to my room and opened the box of journals where I wrote everything. And the last evidences of memories before Jun left me alone. I still miss him and I still have that lingering hope he could have chosen me. But I guess the luck was never mine from the beginning.   I should be angry from him and hate him, but how can I? I have always loved him.

I opened the journal where I first met him it was on a rainy night and we both didn’t have umbrellas so we stood in the same shop until rain stopped.

Dear diary,

I am writing this because I have to tell you something super interesting that happened. Today when I was returning I forgot my umbrella and it started raining. I ran to the closest shop near the bus stop and that shop was closed. I stood there alone for five minutes and then a guy ran there too. My eyes were transfixed to him. He was the definition of perfect. After standing for a few moments he smiled and greeted me. And said his name as Jun and he was Chinese but he is here because he liked this place a lot. damn his name is also perfect. we talked about random topics from here and there and then he said he is a coffee barista and even invited me to his café. I never knew something so miraculous can happen to me too. This always happens in the dramas I watch but this was real. And my heart is fluttering already. Anyways I gotta sleep it’s already too late. I will update next time such interesting thing happens. Bye !!

I turned a few pages and read some random stuffs, mostly about my little crush for Jun. until the part came where he proposed me. That day is the best day of my life till now. And I am never going to forget that.

Dear diary,

Guess what!!!!!!! He proposed. I was in shock till now. I mean he proposed. I was so scared of rejection but he said it. And it is the most beautiful proposal I have seen not even in dramas. He decorated his café so beautifully with black and white balloons, baked my favorite chocolate cake, brought flowers and lit pretty candles. And on top of that he wore a black suit that fitted him perfectly from all angles. I was looking like a homeless person while he was looking like a prince. Okay so let me start from the beginning, I got a call from him where he said there was an emergency and he needed me there. I was at home chilling in my PJs and ran like that only when I went there I was confused. He came and sat on his knees in front of me and said, “It’s been a while I wanted to tell you this y/n, I love you”, and gave the bouquet of flowers he was holding. It took me a few moments to process what he was saying. He then stood up and looked into my eyes and asked again, “will you accept me?”. And I nodded. Of course I would accept him, he was my dream and then I started crying when he pulled me in a tight hug and then pulled back looked at my face wiped tears and said, “You have to promise me from now on no matter what happens you won’t cry”, I nodded again. I was unable to speak. I was in the middle of processing everything. He then smiled and brought his lips on mine. And trust me it was the most magical moment of my entire existence and I ain’t ever forgetting this. 

Getting reminded of that day, my tears started flowing already I don’t think I can read much. How can the guy who said not to cry made me cry the most. I still remember that day vividly. And I wish I can turn back time and make all mistakes correct. 

Everything started falling off after one year. I turned a few pages and saw all the happy and sweet memories of ours. The little things he did for me, surprising me with ice creams and flowers, sending me cupcakes and cookies now and then, taking me on dates. The favorite activity of ours was chilling together in a weekend until we fall asleep in each other’s arms. I miss that comfort and warmth of his arms. 

Whenever I felt down and lonely he showed up all the time and lifted my mood with his jokes and musicals. He never liked when I get serious and start to stress out. He always found some way to make fun. I miss him more now thinking of everything. I then opened up the journal of 2020. When everything ended. The final chapter of our story.

Dear diary,

Everything ended. My fairytale didn’t get a happy ending. Not all love stories end in a beautiful way. Today he left. He shattered me. I won’t blame him. But still it hurts. He could have opted for another option if he would have talked to me. But he didn’t. He didn’t ask me what I want he just took his own decision and left. He left me. He went back to china. A massive pandemic hit worldwide and every country started getting into a lockdown. He got a call from his father that he needs to get back there for his business. He never liked his father’s massive business he always used to say he is happy like this in this small place. But I don’t even know what snapped in him. He decided to leave. He said he fall out of love with me. he wanted to go back on his own. He too loves to make more money. But this isn’t the man I met. His words are different what his eyes are speaking. He is telling he is no more in love but his eyes are clearly showing how much he is hurting. He never drinks but his eyes were bloodshot red which suggests only one thing he was crying. Why is he doing this to me? I even asked him I was ready for a long distance relationship but he denied. He pushed me away. I even begged him to stay and not leave me but he didn’t. He made up his mind. He left. He ended it. I can’t deal with this. I never imagined he would one day abandon me. It hurts a lot……

I started crying again.  The memories started flooding back.  I can’t deal with this again. I miss him. I am still ready to accept him. I just wanted him to come back. I was crying again until I heard my phone beeping. I went there and saw a notification and stood frozen. It was from him.

Jun: hey y/n this is quite sudden. I hope you are okay I sent you an email I hope you will see it. This is just to inform you that I am marrying my dad’s friend’s daughter. I thought of informing you as it might help you move on and I hope you won’t wait any longer.

This one message broke me down. I got shattered again. All my strength from my legs vanished. I fell down on my couch. I can’t even process any of this. He is marrying. He is finally gone. He won’t come back. He is gone. My jun is gone. All my memories are only memories now. I couldn’t even decide on a reply I left that text on read. I remembered about the email he was talking. I wanted to end everything for myself. It will be the last time I would be getting hurt. I opened up my laptop and checked my email it was from the email id we made together,

Hi y/n , I am sorry I am using this email. It’s because all my texts, calls and mails are filtered. This was the safest thing. First of all sorry for what I did.  I know I hurt you very badly. But I had to. When I left you last year it wasn’t my decision. I was forced to do so. I hope you understood it from all the words hidden inside me. It still hurt me like hell. My dad came that day to take me, when I denied he blackmailed me using you. And I don’t want anything to happen to you and your dreams. I can’t lose you like that. I wanted to be the bad guy so that you can hate me and be happy at least. I know I shouldn’t be saying you this but I am selfish I guess. I don’t want to hurt you. I planned on escaping this again but I failed. So I am stuck here. I can’t go back to you. I can’t go back to my home. I hate this life y/n, where you aren’t here. But I guess I have to live like this. I know after this you might get hurt again. I am a bad and selfish person.
