I must have fallen asleep at some point, because I was being comforted by someone, leaning on their chest sobbing while they ran their fingers through my hair, telling me it would be alright, that I had time to make everything ok. And when I tried to look at their face and ask how, I woke up alone. And now I'm mourning the faceless being who comforted me better than anyone else ever has, and they never existed to begin with.
