Been thinking about romance in the Fairies universe (since apparently Valentine’s Day is unavoidable on Tumblr) and I one thing I love is that so very few couples are actually canon. As in, I think the only full canon couple we’ve been given is Milarion (and it seems like we’ve kind of collectively decided to ignore that one), otherwise it’s just smaller things like Tinkerence being a Ross/Rachel situation, Jerome/Thistle, Rosetta and her various romantic endeavours, Vidia/Kyto, Scribble making a move on Nyx, and a lot of implied but never really fleshed out things.

And I love that because it gives us so many opportunities to make our own ships, but perhaps even more because it allows to keep certain interactions as purely platonic. Like Rani and Ronan can be romantic, but their interactions can also be read as those of caring friends. And likewise with Clank and Bobble, Prilla and Vidia, Fairy Gary and Fairy Mary, and whatever couple we can think of. We can make their relationships anything we want, even change them depending on what mood we’re in, and it doesn’t directly contradict canon.

Like I love shipping as much as anyone else. But honestly I love a good friendship even more than that. And I love that we have the freedom to choose either for any character we want.

Disney Fairies TinkerBell notepad

 I can’t remember when and where I got this notepad. It may have been Blokker; I know I bought it new at a store a couple years ago.

That was her outfit from the books (it also appears in cyan there at some point), and it was animated for the scrapped 2007 TinkerBell movie. Sil’s also in her scrapped 2007 look, you can tell because the dress is subtly different, her eyes are blue, and the animation style differs from the final movies.

I bought this in February 2020 secondhand off of eBay for £4.50.

I’m reposting all of my arrangements to my music blog to get them all in one place. This one is an audio transcription from the Tink NDS game.

As a deep fan of the Fairies music I was always searching around for someone crazy enough to turn these little jewels into sheet music, but never found it. So now that I’m capable of it, I’ve decided to become that person myself.

This is the Tinker theme, which anyone who has played this game will instantly recognise. The same music is also used in TinkerBell’s Adventure, though because they swapped some voices and used a different sound library it sounds a bit different.

Transcribing is basically writing down music so it can be performed from sheet. I often use a transcription as a basis for an arrangement (for like piano or orchestra or something).
