he's cleaning his study when his gaze finally lands on aether. he lets out a small laugh when he sees just how much the smaller male swims in his coat, but he can't deny that he finds the sight absolutely endearing and adorable. there's just something about aether that melts him.

he approaches after setting a stack of books down, adjusting his coat on the traveler.

“well, i guess i can't fault you for that.” he hums, “you look lovely, it matches what you currently wear. who knows, if you're good, i might let you keep it." a small smirk appears on his face.

he waits for diluc's eyes to catch his before grinning, turning around to show off the other man's jacket on his own frame. diluc's slim, but has built muscle, an obvious result of wielding a claymore. aether has muscle, but is still lither than he is. the jacket seems bigger and the blond loves the way it hangs off of him in a certain way. he grins, burying his nose in the collar, inhaling the scent of his lover. "you left this out, so i decided to see if it would fit me."

"you look tired, 'luc." crepus peers up from the mountain of ledgers he's poring over, giving his son a scrutinizing look. "i know it's a big promotion, cavalry captain ... you'd tell me if you were struggling, right ? or ... not sleeping well ?" goodness knows they're both emotions crepus can relate to, far better than he'd like to admit.

he can't deny he's a little tired, but he's nothing, if not resilient. a little bit of hard work isn't the worst, not to him at least.

still, he wants to prove himself, show just how strong and durable he truly is. he can do this, he has to. his determination knows no bounds, and his stubbornness holds the strength of titanium.

“ah, thank you for your concern, father, but i'm alright. i promise i'd tell you if i were having a hard time. i'm only adjusting to my new role, so i'm doing okay.”

🌙 — finally made my carrd. it's still not fully done but I'm too tired to work on it any further.

“despite gaining the title early, i was also fourteen. even if i was capable of handling the position, it seemed they still doubted me. no surprise there.” arms cross as he stares kaeya down.

“in any case, you do realize i pay half that funding. granted, it's to jean entirely, but nonetheless. i just find it quite hilarious that your job is lacking half your position what with that expedition going on.”
