For Everyone Snitching In Technos Chat? Thats Metagaming. Characters Cant Know What Happened If They
for everyone snitching in techno’s chat? that’s metagaming. characters can’t know what happened if they haven’t witnessed it or been told by another character. shut up. it’s rude and annoying.

not to make the dream smp sound super deep or anything, but i feel like the arc that tommy went through is really good teaching material to the younger people in the audience in terms of recognizing abusive behaviors?
as a character, tommy is really easy to connect to for them because of his young age and vulnerability, and during the entire exile arc, he’s constantly under these abusive terms and actions. his slow realization and emphasis on how dream wasn’t actually his friend might be a good marker to those viewers of this abusive behavior, and aid them in recognizing and reporting it in the case that it’s happening to them or someone they’re close to.
dream acts as a friend to tommy, while also constantly gaslighting and hurting him, which is one of the most common forms of abuse. tommy’s ability to distinguish friend from enemy is tampered with because of dream, and as the audience through dramatic irony, we can see what is going wrong and who is the “bad guy” in the scenario. those younger viewers could use these instances to connect to their own lives, or maybe their friends lives.
personally i think it’s actually really cool (though likely completely unintentional) that there is this kind of teaching moment throughout these arcs.
the storyline teaches about character motive, provides reasoning, and allows the audience to make their decision of right and wrong. the connection to tommy’s character, his age, and the clear manipulation from the audience standpoint allows for us to put dream completely in the villain persona of the situation, and furthermore, allows for real life connection and recognition of these behaviors for present and future usage.
i don’t know, i just thought it was pretty neat despite the complete unintentionality of it all.
on the whole dream speedrun discourse shit, i’m curious and this is completely genuine: how many of the people arguing the math have experience with this specific type of statistical analysis? i don’t have any because i’m not good at math, but how many people arguing the math have genuine experience and understanding of the math? like, degrees or a passing of a class that specialized in this math?
because all i’ve been seeing in the discord is people regurgitating numbers that they don’t seem to actively understand as they never offer why they think the math is correct or a description of how the math actually works. a lot of them just throw around the phrase binomial distribution (even though i’ve seen from many people that supposedly the situation didn’t even qualify for that specific formula?).
i just find it very hard to believe that every single person in the speedrun discord suddenly had a degree in stats or understands it to the capability of being able to say that they’re right or wrong. like, i understand that there’s probably a few people, but it’s impossible to separate them from the piggy-backers, and i think personally that it weakens their words and claimability when they have those same uneducated people spouting things that they don’t understand because they think it’s right solely due to the fact that it’s what the majority of the discord believes.
i’m not trying to be rude or confrontational, it just seems to me that there’s a lot we can’t decipher of the debate because there’s no way everyone there has that kind of experience (case and point, myself, and several others that i’ve seen as the chat speeds by (also dream himself i suppose, as he did hire someone to do the math for him)).
this is seriously a genuine question though.
oh god oh fuck he learned how to lavacast
“i’m back to streaming, and i need to be a terrorist” i’m sorry tommy, WHAT?
