I’m sorry but this clip does not hold a candle to the whole video

I think there is a very simple explanation for this. And that reason is that most of the people who re-watching ATLA are people who watched this show when they were kids and are adults now. As kids, we never really paid attention to the amount of trauma every single character has suffered and the extent of it. We shipped characters like Zuko and Katara because we thought they looked cute and also because of the fact that they were supposed to be the original endgame. But now watching the show again as an adult you begin to realize that every single one of these characters is a LITERAL CHILD!!! EVEN ZUKO!! I am speaking for myself when I say I always thought that Zuko was an adult because he was the oldest of the gaang but even at age 16, HE IS STILL A CHILD!! Hell, I’m 20 years old, I’m barely an adult!! We start to realize how young these characters actually are and understand how much trauma and abuse can affect a person at such a young age. As for the reason I think we are shipping Zuko x Sokka,

It gay🏳️‍🌈

When ATLA dropped on Netflix I was bracing myself for a new wave of Zutara discourse. But it turns out the most popular Zuko ships recently have been:

Zuko x happiness

Zuko x therapy and wellness

and

Zuko x Sokka

I have to say guys,

that’s pretty woke.

I wanted to add my own story to this. When I was in elementary school my mom would force me to read A Series of Unfortunate Events aloud to her almost every night. Her reasoning to force me to read it was to “expand my vocabulary”. Not exactly sure if it worked or not and I’m not sure if she does either. she made me read other books too and every time I always hated it and I grew to deeply hate A Series of Unfortunate Events. I consider myself a little lucky that I love to read now. I found a book for myself in junior high that I enjoyed and with that my love of reading grew.
