cal who has dyslexia and dyscalculia + andre who has always been above average in reading and math.

andre tries to help cal as much as possible, but both of the boys get frustrated easily and give up quickly. they’re never in the same classes other than lunch and one pe class they had together in freshman year. it doesn’t help that cal has band fourth block while andre has track.

andre drives cal to school early in the mornings and waits to drive home after school so cal can talk to his teachers after class. he drives him to tutoring lessons and helps him read through paragraphs and math problems. cal understands that andre is trying to help, but sometimes everything becomes overwhelming and he feels stupid even though his parents reassure him that he’s not.

‘Public’ Caldre NSFW Headcanons

- At the Kriegman summer house, Cal and Andre often share a room. Cal used to sleep in a palette on the floor, but once the boys started dating, they began sharing the bed. They’ve almost been caught making out and taking off each other’s clothes one too many times.

- When the boys get intimate at the summer house, Andre has to hold his hands over Cal’s mouth or put his fingers in his mouth to make him be quiet. Often times, Cal gags around his fingers which makes Andre freak out, but Cal urges him to keep going.

- They take full advantage of them being the same gender at school. They make out in the bathrooms, locker rooms, and empty classrooms. When Andre does good at a track meet, Cal meets him in the showers after the meet’s over.

- Rachel once invited Andre to come along to a movie night that Cal, her, and some other friends were having. During the movie, the boys shared a blanket. Cal’s hands began to wander about half way through the film, making Andre’s face go a little too red.

- When they’re eating family dinners, they play a game of who can touch one another the most until one of them has to excuse themselves to go to the bathroom. It often ends in Cal palming Andre while giggling when Andre quickly stands up and runs to the bathroom.

- When they’re sat at a booth on a date, they play around kicking at the other’s foot and laughing. Sometimes, though, Andre directs his foot up, pressing his shiny boots right onto Cal until the younger boy squirms.

- They’ve almost fucked on the trampoline in the Gabriel’s backyard one too many times. They stop when they hear one of Cal’s siblings running outside or see a light turn on in the house. They just pretend they were stargazing.

- The boys often sneak away during gym. After class, Cal and Andre accidentally wear each other’s shirts and their knees are bright red and have a slight imprint of the locker room’s tile floor.

thinking about the scene of rachel and cal in the graveyard.

she would come back to that graveyard, not even a whole year later, to see cal get buried in it. as she walks towards his headstone, she sees first and last names they used to make fun of. the color and happiness of this place has been drained. the place the two friends used to go to now permanently holds one of them within the ground.

she thinks back to that specific day, the day cal recorded her. she thinks of the way his voice would trail in and out and the way he'd glance off into the distance when he felt awkward. she thinks about his sick joke about having a darker side within him that no one knows about. now she knows it wasn't a joke.

people often ask her how she didn't realize cal was a monster, how she couldn't have known that something was wrong. it confuses her. who in their right mind would think that there best friend, someone they thought of as a brother, would be capable of something so horrific?

even years after zero day, when she has kids and a full time job, rachel takes a couple days every month to come have lunch next to cal's grave. sometimes she doesn't even eat. sometimes she doesn't even talk. she just sits and knows that cal is there with her. that's all she needs.
