Episode 4

TW: Guns

Number #5

My Top 5 Shots In Every Episode Of TLOU

I mean what to even say with this ridiculously strong start? I love the shallow depth of field, the reds, black, and browns, and the off center framing. It’s just really great looking.

Have I mentioned how much I love the shallow depth of field shots In this show? I have? Well too bad. I’m talking about them again. THEY JUST LOOK SO GOOD!! Also I love the rim-lighting and the flared light in the background. They all just come together absolutely beautifully.

A pretty iconic shot, and for good reason. It’s one of my favorite landscape shots in the show. The sight of the overgrown bridge and the sunken boats is just incredible and haunting. Fantastic.

Have I mentioned the shallow depth— But other than that, I also just love the lighting and shadows. The emotion of the shot is great, too, Bella’s expression from shooting the raider is just so oof. Everything about this shot is just fantastic.

Before I reveal my #1, here are some honorable mentions…

I love the greens here, and have I mentioned how much I love the shallo—

Amazing lighting here. I love the beams shining through the shrubbery and onto Ellie, and the composition with her just off center is so good.

Hey, did someone say shal— The symbolism of this shot what makes it so incredible to me. The skeleton in contrast to Joel, the way they’re facing each other, the way they’re similar, how it’s in the same seat of the car he’d been in all episode, because Joel stills feels dead. Because this episode is the turning point, when he starts to come back to life because of Ellie… god, it’s just about fantastic. It’s just so fucking good.

Tune in for ep 5 tmrw!

43, 58, 75!!!

43: How has writing changed you?

For the worse.

But honestly? In so many ways. Writing has changed my life. It allows me to express my emotions in ways that I can’t do any other way. It’s this outlet for me, and the people I’ve met through writing mean so much to me. I love you writer buddies❤️

I’m not sure I can ever pinpoint exactly how writing has changed me, but it has. It has changed me, and it has shaped me, and it will change along with me.

Ew, earnestness? What the fuck, Paige? I read your blog for your obsessive analysis of the Last of Us, occasionally sharply put takes, and generally you being a dumbass. I didn’t sign up for you and your stupid fucking honesty.

Boo. Paige sucks.

58: What is the least thing a fic made you google when you were writing it?

I’ve been researching a lot of drugs (not a bad omen for Scars at all guys, don’t worry)

75: Do you know how your story ends before you start writing it?

Yes, absolutely. I actually have the last sentence of Scars already written down. I have a comprehensive plan. I have scene lists and foreshadowing and setup galore!

Thanks to the amazing @lauronk (the awesome bus lady herself) for the asks. Love u Lauren❤️❤️

In ep 9 of TLOU when Ellie wakes up in car after Joel kills the fireflies, her hair is kinda splayed out over her head on the car seat.

In Ep 9 Of TLOU When Ellie Wakes Up In Car After Joel Kills The Fireflies, Her Hair Is Kinda Splayed

…if she was just put down normally, her hair wouldn’t been at least partly under her head, which means Joel fucking readjusted her hair to make her more comfortable after he massacred a hospital!

Good god this show will never leave my brain…
