Semblance is called “Hee Hee” unironically (it was a friend’s idea that we fell in love with funnily enough). Hee Hee lets Charmaine make jokes that can boost the aura of others depending on if said others find the humor funny. His jokes are most always insensitive or inappropriate, so not many find it very funny.

My AU's James Ironwood :3

James Ironwood

James Ironwood, esteemed general of Atlas who takes up two seats on the council whilst also being Atlas Academy's headmaster. A jack of all trades, that man. James Ironwood; alluding to the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz, James Ironwood's been named after the color, Ironwood (A3948D). As a matter of fact, in this AU, we've changed Ironwood's colour palette to fit the shade of brown that he is named after. An...admittedly poor quality image of the recolour will be at the bottom of this post (I tried).

In this AU, James' semblance, Mettle, remains the same except for one factor. Unlike in canon -- where James loses the light in his eyes upon using his semblance -- the opposite happens. James' eyes actually glow to an extent upon using his semblance. Mettle now being noticeable is actually one of the reasons James fails to have a villain arc in this AU. Many of his peers call the general out on overusing it, forcing him to snap the fuck out of it. Ozpin and Glynda were the main people who snapped him out of using his semblance and it eventually became habit to use it less and actually think properly. In Ozpin's absence Winter has actually taken up the mantle of scolding Ironwood for overusing Mettle.

In the end, James never goes mad, though he still suffers great mental drain. He's found to age-regress often, with the Ace Ops running to act as James' caregivers while Winter takes over his job during the time that he's regressed. Additionally, James never ends up fighting Winter or Cinder here. After his fight with Watts and losing his arm, he's age-regressed for the entire rest of the arc. He's not fighting anyone else, and because of this, he survives and is taken to Vacuo.
