I do believe it is his way to cope with the pain, yes. And mind you, I partly understand him. It's not easy when things go bad with someone you deeply love - great love can cause great pain, whatever kind of love that is. They both seemed quite bitter in the early 70s, and I understand that. I can be bitter too, been there, done that. Still, I can't help but notice how through the years Paul constantly went back and forth from saying Artie did a lot then saying their partnership was unbalanced and shit. I understand the hurt, I really do, but I can't stand his behavior anyway. In the end, their relationship is above complex, a fascinating thing for sure, something only they can really, fully understand, of course; it's not my intention to blame or sanctify anyone, jokes aside I hate that things didn't work between them.
