Am I in the minority? I adored Wayward Son.

Of course I want puppies and rainbows for Baz and Simon (okay, maybe not puppies—Baz would just eat them). But 1) it’s a new relationship and 2) they’d both just suffered insanely traumatic experiences. Simon reacted just about the way I’d expected. Not only did he lose a huge part of himself (his identity as “the Chosen One” AND his magic) but he also killed his surrogate father (who was actually his real father, go figure). Simon feels unworthy of pretty much everything—which includes Baz.

So the road is rocky. But I trust Rainbow. She loves Simon and Baz. The ending of the book gives me so much hope, I can’t wait to see what happens next.

absolutely nothing gets me as emo as when a party that you watched meet as a bunch of wayward assholes in a small-town tavern is suddenly standing in front of kings and councils making eloquent arguments and big moves on a geopolitical stage!!! MY HEART IS FULL OF PRIDE!!!

i feel like i am in very rare company in that i don’t mind when they fail or when episodes don’t do much for the overall plot of the story because we’re still learning so much about them as characters and how they handle this will add even more to that. we still got hijinks and cool maps (matt works so hard on those! they are amazing!) and we all just got to spend a little over four hours watching a show about D&D yall like - i dunno i’m just thankful this show exists
