Hope Cindy Wasn't Doing Anything Important Because She's Getting Scooped By Her Boyfriend And Twirled
Hope Cindy wasn't doing anything important because she's getting scooped by her boyfriend and twirled around in the air. "Missed ya, sweetheart." He coos, pressing his lips to her forehead. (@infernal-feminae) <3

It was good, but not perfect. For most people it was perhaps perfect. Yet Cindy always wanted more: break through every limit, rule, boundary set by humans and by anatomy itself. Give her all for a glimpse of the reactions. The freshly recorded song has been blasting in her headphones for more than a half hour by now, trying to figure out what was missing and from where.

She had no complaints with the instrumental parts, the guitar solo always beyond perfect; which at first brought a ghost smile to her lips before shocking her with the revelation.
Dashing in front of the microphone in a crimson blur, one ear still plugged; she needed to hear herself not just the feedback. It started as a low, growly rumble, then her voice started to climb in perfect symphony with the electric guitar, a seamless, loud, brightening glissando. The highest note held effortlessly, allowing the guitar to fall back into its own rhythm while rock n roll still poured from her lips till she felt enough.
Yes. That was missing. Cindy laughed to herself at the fact and success, rare and full of mirth in the lone recording room- till she wasn't alone. Body, mind and soul relaxed immediately, melting into the surprise embrace with radiant warmth.

Jade eyes sparkled so brightly, small giggles slipping from her instead the previous vocal acrobatics at the loving gesture.
“Missed you more” she cheekily quipped; childish? Yes. Did she care? No.
Still curled around Erebus like a kitten, she simply loved to be...held. Kept safe and cared for.
“Did you get lost in the guitar store again?” Cindy chuckled, genuine teasing mixing with curiosity

The cosmic horror has arrived as well. And sure as fuck she isn't glowing in happiness.

The so far dormant entity's ear caught the words she's been looking for to hear throughout the nights. Open mic. A last moment check to make sure everything was beyond perfect:
“RAISE YOUR HORNS !”
The incredibly gritty howl reverberated throughout the palace, although instead of horns, wings broke free from her body.
“RAISE 'EM HIGH !” almost a battle cry, the entity glittering in gold and starlight made her way towards the stage with utmost ease & lack of care
“LET 'EM SOAR, LET 'EM FLY ” impossibly strong vibrato and effortless switches between clean and raw rasp vocals, without needing a microphone, her wings seemingly acting as an amplifier
“UP THROUGH THE HEAVENS, FOREVERMORE” fire began to envelop her body, obscuring the golden wonder from the eyes
“LET 'EM RAIN DOWN; RAISE YOUR HORNS!” Cindy reached the stage at last, stepping out of the whirl of cosmic fire in an entirely different outfit, the Cosmic Dusk.

“Now, that I have all of your attention,” grit still present in her speaking voice as well along with a cuttingly playful edge “I have to ask: do you settle for less? Less than what you could be or could get? Obviously not, if you are attending to this ball. I know most of you run for the hills at the sound of rock n roll, but don't bolt just yet. I have something digestible even for such fine crowd.”

The entity chuckled, yes she will be holding back, still a better outcome than trying and succeeding in outscreaming nobility. The rhythm although heavy, she was true to her promise and reigned the previously displayed raw force of her voice.
“I know what you want, I know what you like: You're obsessively undressing me with your eyes.” still without a microphone, her voice surrounding the crowd nicely “I know what you need, I know how to play. I know how to give without giving it all away.”
“I got all my moves! I know how to tease, I know what to do and wanna make you believe~” she broke away from the crowd for a minute to address the next lines to Beelza herself
“That you, baby, you're special. A whole 'nother level.” a ghost caress of her cheek with one of her radiating wings before stepping towards the crowd again
“And you wanna touch me, take me home tonight, yeah, you maybe I'll let ya” her own gloved hands skating across her body, head turning towards Beelza once more
“But I'll never settle, for anything less than special, special, special, special.”

“I know who you are, got your number down.” Cindy sat at the very edge the stage, allowing a demon to run his talons up her thigh high boots “I know how to turn you on” a purr before a sharp push with her heel as she stood “and turn your ego down.”
“And I hear all your friends, I know what they say: If you get dishonest promise I won't hesitate” a breathy, seductive tone in extremely sharp contrast of her first introduction of earth shattering vocals
“To put out the fire, to put up a wall! Don't ruin it by thinking you're the be-all and end-all.” an immediate slip back to the previous volume, playing with her voice so effortlessly as if it was as easy as breathing
“That you baby, you're special, a whole 'nother level.” this time the singer sought out a different member of the crowd, a beautiful succubus dressed in purple shades “And you wanna touch me, take me home tonight, yeah, you, maybe I'll let ya. I'll never settle, for anything less than special, special, special, special.” jade sprinkled with golden stars fluttered close at the guitar solo; this is what she craved. What she dreamed of. And she will be damned if she doesn't deliver.

“I know what you want, I know what you like, trying to convince me with your ‘meet me backstage’ smile.” she wagged a finger with an all knowing grin, slithering down to a squat, close enough to touch; that if someone dared to with such wings looming above them “But I got all my moves, I know how to tease, I know what to do and wanna make you believe!”
“That, you baby, you're special like some kind of rebel.”
“And you wanna touch me, take me home tonight!” switching into a sharper, aggressive tone as the song eventually drew to a close “Yeah, you! Well, maybe I'll let ya!”
“But I'll never settle.”
“For anything less than special, special, special, special !”
Cindy allowed the last beats to close the performance, bathed in the spotlight and her own radiance
“Was that so bad was it now?” she asked, voice filled with smug with satisfaction
“Want to try something heavier? I can last the whole night.” the innuendo perfectly on purpose, although a glance at Beelza “Or as long as it's allowed.” she corrected, though she was curious who had the guts to perform after her.

She didn't interfere her thoughts, she cannot influence this decision. It ultimately depended on what Gabriel desired the most, not what Cindy gladly would've done to save her. Chin tilted higher as she was addressed, still by her human name despite her state, a sincere nod at the meaning behind those words.
A few beats of silence after the angel disappeared from sight; only then did those beyond divine wings unfold and dive after her. A blazing supernova in all its glory, scouring for the perfect moment: between realms. Where here essence has been eroded but not fully corrupted. To survive her gift of a second life. A sharp curve and the Phoenix caught the Archangel right in the middle of realms, stopping her fall.
“Focus only on me. I'm sorry if it hurts, just trust me little one.”

Arms, fingers grew elongated along with her figure, the stars surrounding them brightening then dimming as the entity took their power for the process. Cosmic flames surrounded both kept in perfect equilibrium by the increased solar winds.
The Eternal Fire's chest cracked open, within glowed, stirred the Universe itself, white hot and ever changing.

Long fingers reached for Gabriel, as gently as It possibly could, slowly pried her apart meanwhile cooing praises and encouragement in a language that didn't require words to be understood. What remained of her was damaged, dimming rapidly; placing a part of her had a chance of also succumbing to the rot.
Enormous wings of galaxies closed over them in a protective cocoon, her human features morphing less and less recognizable, celestial tailfeathers began to fully form instead of legs. Arms drew the angel flush against Its body, aligning her chest cavity with their core. The purest form of energy flowed through the inflicted wounds, It could feel Gabriel's essence react, at first with recoil then greedy acceptance. Fire swirled around the reignited parts, slowly but surely penetrating through ‘divine’ layers: fundamentally and forever changing what Gabriel was.
The Phoenix continued to pour Itself into the fragile body, tethering on the edge of no return to her human form, as even more of the stars dimmed forever in their vicinity. It never stopped their song either, something beyond primordial to provide a tiny bit of calm for the little creature. Its own body signaled first, the transformation was complete and most importantly, stable.
It carefully began weaving Gabriel's chest together, catching glimpses of the beauty and power that now not only resided within but was her. The Phoenix's core sealed itself in tandem with Gabriel's, planet sized wings rapidly unfurling in a solar storm, the momentum carrying them away the ultimate balance between realms and far past Heaven till it disappeared from view completely.
The creature slowly began to resemble to something vaguely human once again, receding in size and radiation, the Sun itself behind her supplying the power she had lost during the resuscitation.

“Soar now, Starchild. You are free.” Cindy released the newborn entity from her hold, her smile tender and full of relief

“You will be complete.” the entity corrects “I don't know how will your body and powers react to my own essence, I cannot predict that. I've never changed a celestial being to their very core, not this drastic degree either needed for your survival.” she can't lie nor bend the truth when it came such life altering decision. Gabriel wouldn't be bearing a curse, but a part of the cosmos.
“You will belong to the eternal stars, with only two Beings other than me capable of killing you. Serin'th who caused my scar and Chionne Frollja, the Secondborn of the Universe.” the Phoenix informed further as the angel was thinking over all of her existence spanning millennias. There laid the truth, Gabriel would be permanently changed power wise and physically, forever ripped from Heaven's hierarchy.
“You will be severed from the one you refer as ‘God’, me, my creation is above Its powers.” if this is what she ultimately wanted when whispering to the stars, yearning for freedom, Cindy was ready to grant all of that
Chin tilted lower at the sudden movement, the blaze in her eyes...the same her own when the Eternal Fire had made her the same offer. Spiteful bordering on vengeance. Revenge against the world that dared to treat her like this. Revenge for the torture, the suffering, the needless sacrifices, the wasted, stolen first life.

“Hold onto your rage and desire.” the entity spoke with a nod at the decision, the blazing supernova approaching with the slightest caution; metal shrieking and snapping at the sheer supernatural heat. The Phoenix leaned down, elongated fingers carefully lifting the broken body but not spirit into her embrace, hoping her desire and flickering life was enough for her to not burn from such closeness.
She carried the delicate creature through the wiped clean wasteland which once was deemed holy, not shielding Gabriel from the sight. This wasn't her home anymore, detachment only helped both of them when it came to the actual process. No one stopped the erethal visage scorching Heaven in her wake by her existence, the journey to the end of the clouds a slight solace among the crumbling then dissipating ruins.
“I will ask one more thing from you.” the Eternal Fire spoke at the edge of the realm, setting the Archangel down gently
“Fall.”
“And trust I will catch you.”

Golden light chased away darkness as it always had done since it's very existence. The Eternal Fire illuminated the torture chamber, flooding it until only the shadow cast by Gabriel remained. Her state stirred an undecipherable rumble, something beyond primordial. Ever shifting galaxy eyes took in the fragile statue, carefully noting every injury with an almost prying gaze. Fire starting to lean towards white in color again during the assessment, temperature ever climbing but those tiny, insignificant shifts -for her- was beyond her control.
“You are not hallucinating. You are dying.”

The entity managed to speak at last, the dull burgundy scar even more prominent against her near blinding radiance. She was not the arrogant brat playing around with cosmic powers Gabriel probably was familiar with; she was that untameable celestial force. Now almost stripped of everything human as Heaven still continued to tremble at her presence
“Your essence is dimming. You will die in days.” she spoke again, one step forward the tortured angel. She could feel life draining from her, feel her core wilting away slowly but surely
“I can save you by setting you free. After all isn't it what you always yearned for, Gabriel?” the Phoenix questioned gently what she overheard from stars, a lonely, trapped Being's whispered desire.
“But if I do that, you will never be an angel anymore. You will not belong to any realms, but to the stars. So tell me, do you want me to scorch your chains both physical and the ones you were created with?” she will not turn her against her will. Plenty has been done to her in which she had no say for eons. The Phoenix understood if she would rather choose eternal rest, she deserved peace at last. In that case, she will end her suffering quickly and painlessly.

The others faded to background noise, not like she was deaf to others' talent; but indeed as she had sang: her attention was only directed towards special ones.

Genuine smile at words, especially upon realization that the praise came from a member of the audience she'd sought out.
“Thank you, means a lot you enjoyed” a slide of her chin towards a few higher ranked ladies still trying and failing to clean the wine stains out of their ornate dresses; likely jolted at her unexpected intro
“I had to make sure nobody thinks I'm some kind of angel.” Cindy offered part of the explanation, shining wings still on display, yet her own radiance seemed to come from within
“They...act as an amplifier so I don't need a microphone. But no alterations otherwise, what you hear is all me.” the entity was slightly defensive of her born gift, didn't want any rumors catching flight that it was also a cosmic trick
“I'm Cindy, and again I'm happy that you enjoyed the little concert.” a pause, her smile softening even more “And your shoes are absolutely adorable! Although, definitely not as beautiful as you. ”

Send 🎭 for our muses to meet at a masquerade party

While Dia herself hadn't found the courage to go up and do anything with the open mic she had enjoyed watching the others have fun. One performance that stood out was Cindy, the succubus had been quite intrigued to see what would come after her opener. Sadly there were others, who in her mind were way less interesting, that also wanted to perform, so Cindy had to give up the mic.
But at least that did leave the woman open to be approached "A shame you had to give up that mic, you were rocking the whole ball"
