Love is troublesome. I knew it from the moment I saw you. The way my heart raced and my mind said 'ew' I knew you were a wild mustang, even if far from a Rey But I wanted it, anyway Craved your first name as much as I craved your last Though I felt ''days'' wasn't a match I must've been Camões in another life Due to how I blind for a forbidden I love I was Watched the gazes and the ones in your matresses But I wanted you, anyway By me. I yearn for intimacy,

Setting/action:

#1 - freaking out briefly every morning when they realise they're sharing the house with their newlywed spouse #2 - finding out new quirks of the other with great fascination #3 - trying to willingly make the other a part of their daily habits #4 - getting that strange feeling in their belly whenever they introduce the other as their "spouse" #5 - being awkward around each other because they don't know how polite or how casual they should be #6 - being nervous because how do you do the married thing? #7 - slowly but surely growing fond of the other #8 - getting used to the other's company and being completely thrown when they're suddenly in a situation on their own #9 - making time to have dates to get to know the other better because you should know your spouse, right? this one's my favorite.

"muitos anos a virar frangos" translates roughly to "many years spent turning chickens". it references chicken grilling.

it is a very, very portuguese way to express one's experience or mastery over something. it is used often as a brag and in an humorous way, sometimes sarcastically.

this illustration is part of "quem fala assim não é mudo" - "he who speaks like this isn't mute", my first solo exhibition, where i illustrate typical portuguese sayings and expressions.
