“Can we just…shut our eyes…” 

“Do you only come here just to sleep?” Kevin raised an eyebrow (knowing full well your eyes were closed) as you snuggled closer to his side and his arms instinctively wrapped tighter around your shoulders. 

“We’re not even halfway through the movie.” 

When you gave a huff in response, Kevin jokingly rolled his eyes, “I’m starting to wonder if you’re dating me or the bed. You sleepy bear.” You half-heartedly punched his shoulder, before kissing the same spot, causing him to chuckle at your antics. 

“‘M not sleepy, just…it’s comfortable around you…” Kevin gently patted the back of your head, watching as your chest rose and fell steadily beside him. Reaching out with his right hand, he tucked the blanket securely around you, a smile on his lips mirroring yours. 

“Okay, okay. We’ll finish this some other day.” Kevin relented, adjusting both your bodies so that he was holding you flushed against his chest. Staring at your peaceful form for a bit more, he leaned towards you, peppering kisses all over your face. 

“I’m glad to be your safe space.”

the thing in your fic was not an intrusive thought but an impulsive one and it’s very disrespectful to call it that when actual intrusive thoughts are mainly violence towards yourself and/or someone else and can haunt people for years on end as they’re afraid to speak up about them and get help

“My love…?” 

Jongho’s thoughts of whipping up dinner immediately dissipated, and he gave his fullest attention to you. He quickly kicked off his shoes, crossing the living room in 3 quick strides. The groceries could wait, whatever you had to say definitely shouldn’t. 

He sat down beside you on the couch, eyes genuinely searching yours. “Yes?” 

“I feel like…I haven’t got the most reassurance from you today.” You fidgeted with the quilt in your hands, tucking your legs towards you. Your gaze was downcast as you hurriedly explained your sudden statement. 

“I mean I understand you’re busy and I’m busy too. I just—” 

“Come here.” Jongho opened his arms and you curled up in his lap without a moment of hesitation. Taking in a deep breath, he lightly rocked you back and forth, stroking your back as he did.  

“I’m sorry you didn’t get enough love today.” He peppered kisses all over your face, those feather-light ones that he knew would make you smile. Pulling away from each other, he pressed one last kiss on your lips. 

“You’ve been there for me through my tough times, so let me be here for you too. Is there any way I can make it up to you?” 

“I had a long day, and…I don’t really want to talk about it. So…just hold me, please.” You leaned towards him and he tightly wrapped his arms around you. 

“Yeah, of course.”

Together, in serene stillness, sat the two of you in your own little bubble. Jongho was more than willing to be that pillar of support, just as you have been for him when he was struggling. 

“Let’s just lie here for a little longer.” Since his beloved was asking, Jongho definitely couldn’t refuse. Sitting back against the couch, he cuddled you, not letting you go. 

Yeah, the groceries can definitely wait.

“hey! nishimura!” you shouted from across the room from the kitchen to your boyfriend who laid with his limbs sprawled out on the couch. 

his head perked up at the sudden use of the name. he hadn’t heard it leave your lips since before you started dating him, now resorting to using names like baby, love, or even just your first names (which was used mostly around other people, because he was very shy when it came to any form of pda). 

he sat up urgently, a look of playful frustration displayed upon his features, “what did you just call me?”

“what?” you bluffed. “i don’t recall saying anything out of the ordinary.”

he furrowed his brows at you before standing up and quickly walking towards you as you continued pouring yourself and riki some juice. 

he stopped walking once he made it behind you. and before doing anything more, he pressed his palms onto the counter, leaning in close by your ear before saying in a low voice, “what did you call me? say it again, i dare you.”

you paused, hesitating before you let out in a tiny voice laced with a slight guilt, “nishimura.”

suddenly, squeals and giggles filled the room as your boyfriend’s hands made their way to your sides, tickling you as you struggled to let protests escape your lips. 

“riki, stop!” you managed to make out through your helpless fits of laughter. 

and immediately, his hands dropped, “what did you just call me?”

you groaned, turning around, faces just inches apart before letting out a chuckle and smiling innocently, “nothing.”

“y-“

“baby!” you exclaimed before he could even begin. “i said baby, baby.”

he narrowed his eyes at you, very obviously trying to hide his growing smile. 

you smirked before turning back to face the counter and continued pouring your juice. 

and immediately, you felt a weight on your shoulder and arms wrapping around your waist. 

“riki! you almost made me spill the juice!”

you felt his hold loosen from around your body. 

“love!” you quickly corrected. “love, you almost made me spill the juice.”

and his grip tightened around you once again. 

“you’re so petty,” you told him, shaking your head with a playful grin on your lips. 

“no,” he argued as you began backing up, causing him to do the same to give you some space, placing the juice back in the fridge. 

“yes, you are,” you told him, taking the cups you had just poured and began making your way back to the couch. 

“i am not!” he protested, placing his hands on your shoulders and lightly shaking them as he followed you. 

“riki! i have glasses of juice in my hands!” you squealed. 

“riki?” he gave you a look of disgust. 

“yes, riki,” you told him proudly. “that’s what you get for being petty.”

“i love you?” he said, phrasing it as more of a question to sweeten up to you. 

“thanks,” you responded, sipping your juice. 

he gave you a flat expression. 

“i’m just kidding,” you turned to him with a smile on your face. “i love you too, baby.”

you pressed a soft kiss to his cheek, and a grin rose to his lips before turning his head quickly and placing a kiss on your lips.

Sunwoo tucked his basketball under his arm and swung his bag over his shoulder, “You know, as seniors we ought to be more cohesive with our juniors. Should we plan a bonding day? Or maybe we can stay back after training? You know as leaders of our club we can be more friendly…”

Eric rolled his eyes, pushing in his chair whilst waiting for Sunwoo to hurry up. “Speaking of training, it is literally about to start. So if you’d stop yapping we’d be on our way--”

“Hold on isn’t that…” Sunwoo interrupted Eric’s lecture, brushing past him towards the classroom doors. “Kim Sunwoo I wasn’t done talking?!” Eric huffed and followed behind but Sunwoo paid no attention, for his focus was on you. 

Why were you outside his classroom? 

“Sunwoo.” You greeted him halfheartedly, arms locked in front of you. Sunwoo eyed you, playfully teasing “What are you doing here, squirt?” Eric stood nearby, sighing a little too loudly to signify his presence. Right, training was about to start. 

You visibly stiffened at Eric’s exhale, “Are you headed home? I kinda need a ride.” Sunwoo tipped his head towards the basketball under his arms, “No can do. I’ve got basketball practice. And it’s gonna be quite a while.” Sunwoo didn’t miss the dejected look that flashed across your face as you tilted your head down. 

You shifted your weight from one foot to the other, as if you wanted to say something more. Eric cleared his throat again and you quickly shook your head, “It’s okay then. Have a good practice you two.” As soon as you made that declaration, Eric took this opportunity to drag Sunwoo away. 

Uneasiness settled in Sunwoo’s heart and he craned his neck to glance at you through the throng of students. 

Why did you have to make him worried? 

“I’m not going.” “Going where? Training?” Eric joked, but stopped when Sunwoo ceased walking. “Sunwoo, you…don’t tell me…” 

“Captain Eric, I’m pretty sure you can handle one training without your Vice-Captain, right?” Sunwoo was already backtracking, and Eric exasperatedly threw out his hands, “Really? Really?! You do know our juniors are the noisiest bunch of children?” 

Sunwoo waved as a reassurance, sprinting away, whilst hollering, “Just get someone leader-material, uhmm, Han Jisung! The logistics leader! I’ll make it up for the next practice!” He didn’t have the time to watch Eric’s mild breakdown.

Scrambling down steps 2 at a time, he ran with all his might to the bicycle bay. Hopping onto his bike, he easily whizzed through the crowd, spotting you from afar. A pang of relief surged through his body, for you were still fine (although you were slowly dragging your feet to the school gate). 

“Yo squirt!” You flicked your head around, watching, surprised that Sunwoo was pedaling at full force. “Sunwoo?” He dismounted the bike, beads of sweat dotting his forehead, “Hop on.” 

“Don’t you have practice? (Why are you here?)” You bit back your curiosity and Sunwoo patted the empty passenger spot behind his seat. “Nevermind that. You on the other hand look like you’re about to drop unconscious. Care to explain?”

“Just a headache. A bad headache” You added on when Sunwoo raised his eyebrow (it was as if he saw through your attempt to be alright) at your initial statement. “Yeah, that just proves my point about you looking sickly. Get on, squirt. I’m taking you all the way home.” 

Sunwoo saw through your momentary hesitance and pulled you towards the seat, “Really. I mean it. You came to me, didn’t you?” The thought of you getting home faster and skipping the crowded public transport (which will aggravate your headache) won you over. Just like that, you two were on your way home. 

“Sunwoo, did you really skip practice?” “Uh no? I wasn’t needed today. Today Coach wants to focus on the juniors.” He lied through his teeth, a line rehearsed and repeated on his way down. “Okay. Not because of me right?” Worry laced your words. Sunwoo almost cooed at how adorable you were in that moment. . 

“You silly. Why would I skip practice?” He teased you (you smacked him real hard on the back), but his heart softened and added on, “You on the other hand have a knack for making me worried.” That seemed to perk you up and you held onto his waist tighter. 

“Thank you Sunwoo.” “Anyday.“

this beautiful beautiful man has a pretty pretty smile and i’d think this is an equivalent of “i love you” 

for all the instances (whether through text, over a call or together) that he just beams at you knowingly, yeah those are truly the times where he falls in love with you a little bit more

he cherishes you so much that he can’t help but grin at how lovely you are // can you imagine he’s over a call then he just pauses mid sentence to tell you how much he is smiling because he loves you ? GAHHH

this would most likely be over text that he types it out, as a means to end the conversation when in reality he just wants to talk to you forever and ever 

but say, if you were together with him, he’d wrap you in a tight hug and not let you go (don’t let him go too, because there’s only one of him in this world)

so hearing this signature ending from him also signifies that he’s gonna be gone for a while, but not for long because he wants to spend time with you
