a/n: this was supposed to go up on october 1st ! but little did i know that the wheel generator had chosen seungmin and i thought why not celebrate my bias' birthday

you @ 3.07pm : im eating now, wanna call? 

seungmin @ 3.08pm : sure thing ;d

seungmin beamed as he accepted the call, his heart thumping loudly in his chest as you talked about your day through mouthfuls of food. you paused occasionally to actually chew and swallow, and seungmin fills up the gaps by telling you about his day.

you lamented about the various things that didn’t quite make your day, while also pointing out highlights that made seungmin listen intently. he doesn’t hesitate to interject, inserting interesting moments of his day. 

you bid him goodbye to go back to work, and seungmin still has a silly smile plastered on his face.

seungmin hurriedly dials your number and when he hears your exhausted sigh his heart drops. he gives you time to collect your thoughts, gently encouraging you to tell him what’s on your mind. If you asked him to distract you, he’d gladly do so, talking about everything and anything.

when he finally hears you chuckle at a funny anecdote, he feels tons better. he makes sure to check in on you from time to time, and as the clock ticks away in the dark, he accompanies you until all he hears is static silence. 

seungmin ends the call for you, popping a text telling you to confide in him.

seungmin feels stupid for wanting to call you. He deleted the message.

your lack of response makes him feel that maybe he shouldn’t have texted at all. You could be busy anyways, right?

you @ 22.15pm : open up 

seungmin paused and did a double take at your message. In the next moment, he registers knocking on the door and he’s greeted by you holding a box of cake in your hands. 

“surprise! happy birthday!”

you were practically radiating joy and he couldn’t help but burst out giggling at your antics. you had donned on the weirdest headband that had his face stuck on the “antennas”, and the cake had frosting which read “you my little boo thang” in english. 

“you remembered?” you rolled your eyes at his half-hearted question, “what do you mean remembered?! you are literally my best friend, my ride or die! I’d smack myself against a pole if I did.” You shook your head exaggeratedly and seungmin herded you into his home, mood instantly better at the fact you were here. 

“thank you for this really. respectfully, i love you.” he playfully teased and you nudged him, “i’m here for you always.”

are the types to have your texts as high priority notifications: if you didn't pick up immediately they would try and try and try until they get through you because they are so worried for you

their minds would be racing and all thoughts of rationality might just be thrown out of the window; they are scrambling to get their keys/ bus pass or whatever mode of transport they are taking and they will be at wherever you are, no matter how late

if it was physical tiredness, then you best believe they will be at your beck and call, anything to help you unwind/ relax

if it was something more mentally or emotionally taxing, they will hold you tight and whisper sweet nothings into your ears, reassuring you all while comforting you

take it as a distraction ! they only want to make sure you're comfortable and they want to shower you with all their attention and love; they don't want to bring your focus to how tired you were

lowkey a part of me hopes that HEY maybe this guy gets hitched ((idk how many relationships hes been in)) but a part of me just finds it a little sad that perhaps im really just a friend to him ((which still works fine because we still got that banter))

i did something stupid and i wanna rant here (because my friends dont follow me here) :

out of curiosity i texted a male friend (someone whom i used to have an infatuation on for a long long while and you know what maybe i still do) in response to one of his insta story posts about his potential liking for someone ELSE (valentines period)

whenever i text him i feel like ive been transported right back to when we were just classmates, to the times where i ruined my sleep schedule to call and text him reassurances and maybe truly he doesnt see me more than just a friend which DOES hurt but im more than content with just staying friends ,, its a weird dynamic i have with him in that manner and i dont wanna change it but i also want to know more more more about this person and also just his love life ? its not for me to meddle or judge but i just cant help it when he’s constantly moving from one relationship to another

despite all his glaring red flags i think i still harbor something for him, a flicker of hope perhaps but it gets tamped down often

a/n: merry christmas in advance ! here's me trying to spread the good cheer with something warm today -`♡´-

jaehyun was sat on the floor, busy filing away some albums, sorting them by artist and then by date of release. scattered all around him, he twists and turns in attempt to locate some boxes placed haphazardly. out of the corner of his eyes, he spots the beaten up box (probably from his teenage days) a few feet away from him right at the door.

ah, but it's kinda far…

just then, you walked into the room and he immediately raises his hands. you walked over, confused as you laced your fingers through his. jaehyun glances up at his intertwined hands and then back at your puzzled expression.

"are you okay my love?" you asked softly, and he retracts his hand all while chuckling. "w-why? did i do something wrong?" you cocked your head to one side and jaehyun chortles even harder at how cute you were.

jaehyun wiped the tears from his eyes, "i just wanted to you help me take that box, not hold my hand!" now it was your turn to smile, hiding your peals of laughter behind your hand. you squeezed his hand before spinning around to grab the box, then you sat down beside him.

he stares at you as if you were his world and you sheepishly rubbed the back of your neck, “did i take the wrong box? why are you looking at me like that?”

“no, i was just reminiscing about…”

he remembers the first time he actually got to hold hands with you.

his favourite memory was his first date with you because he was so nervous out of his mind. wiping his palms back and forth on his jeans, he was waiting for you outside your workplace.

when he finally saw you walk out, his heart soared as he approached you. noticing that you were carrying a rather heavy looking tote bag, he held his hand out to offer to hold it.

but what you did next nearly caused his entire being to short-circuit, for with a very obvious blush on your face you placed your hand in his.

“uh…your…bag?” “oh my gosh…” you retracted your hand yet jaehyun was quicker to grab ahold of you, using his other free hand to take your bag off your shoulders, easily swinging it onto his side.

he felt this tips of his ears burning: you two must have looked quite silly standing there. “can i...keep holding your hand?” if even possible, jaehyun watched as you turned a bright red and you tucked your head down, nodding once.

“yeah you can.”

with every time he held his hands out, you started to associate that with hand holding.

jaehyun would pull you in closer to his side and he adores that beam you have on your face when gazing at him from your side. he thinks you’re pretty cute, like a little puppy when asked to give its paw.

he was brought back to the present from the sound of your giggles as you added onto your memories of that incident. he held out his hand again, purposefully this time and you laced your fingers with his and he pulls you closer to his side.

“i love you. i won't ever let go.”
