If you’re a woman,

you have explicit permission to be gender non conforming and/or masculine.

You are allowed to have short hair. Like, really short hair. And you’re allowed to keep it that way. It doesn’t have to be a one time thing and then you grow it back again.

You’re allowed to wear clothes from the men’s or boys’ section. Whether that’s just partly or exclusively.

You’re allowed to not shave any part of your body. Even if you have more, thicker and/or darker body hair than usual.

You’re allowed to never wear makeup.

You’re allowed to be topless when men are allowed (for example at the beach). You might get in legal trouble, but morally you aren’t doing anything wrong.

You’re allowed to take up space. Verbally and physically. Of course, you shouldn’t do it too much. But if it’s okay for a man to do it, it’s okay for you too.

You’re allowed to be bad at things without it being proof that women as a whole are bad at it.

You’re allowed to have stupid opinions without it being proof that women aren’t fit for politics or whatever.

You don’t have to prove you’re not inferior.

If people criticize you for doing something, but wouldn’t criticize you if you were a man, then you should probably take that as evidence that you’re doing the right thing by breaking these norms and expanding people’s idea of what a woman can be.
