My brother asked me why the hell I had Bridgerton covers and piano versions of love songs in the same Spotify playlist as Disturbed, Metallica and Imagine Dragons.
I told him it was for writing.
He asked what the hell I was writing that required that range of emotions.
I declined to answer.

I performed a wellness check on one tumblr user because a new chapter had been up for 2 days and they hadn't commented. I wasn't worried about the recognition, I was genuinely concerned something had happened to them.
There's no feeling quite like that when you release the next chapter to your fic and your regular readers comment on it once again not long later.
